it seems your bootloader is already unlocked...confirm using adb...type *fastboot oem device-info* in fastboot mode ..you should see if your device is truly unlocked ..if it's locked then you're probably using a fake or reseller rom

I will do it again and give you feedback bro. The bootloader came unlocked , and I have been getting updates too and install without issues. But it is strange that OEM grey out, and I needed it to install twrp and root, but it never happened upon multiple trial. I read somewhere that alternative way to do that is to relock, enable OEM, then unlock again Which I don't know to do again because I don't want it bricked. I just don't know what to do. But I know there is a solution.

try using fastboot boot command instead of flash to see if you can boot twrp. If boot is possible, u can then flash twrp from twrp.

It depends on your previous phone. For someone using note 5, there's not much difference. Even most people using note did not upgrade to note 5. But for those who care about android version , note 6 will get pie. But it's better to wait for a second variant of note 6

A couple of weeks ago, I started using the EU ROM for Redmi note 4x and it has been bliss... Fantastic battery life, improved ram management (that nonsense that happens when you leave an app momentarily only to return and see the app refreshing is now a thing of the past), zero Chinese character anywhere... and MIUI 10 is bae... Only issue is lack of support for Gcam! Hopefully, that will be rectified in subsequent updates... If you are using Redmi note 4x and you are having battery issues or you want a taste of MIUI 10, I recommend EU ROM ..

Are you sure that issue wasn't resolved by miui 10 or the factory reset state. Lol

I only know the one to install twrp using command. I have not learnt the others.

Update: checked the link, that's exactly what I did. But not insatlling the image. I changed the name to record.img , same thing. Saying something like error, can't install image. So that's where I was stocked and started looking for what might have caused it, until I saw many videos , saying OEM has to be unlocked , even though the bootloader is unlocked.

Yes , it showed unlocked but the other 2 ( phone verification and other one like that) gave error. After running the miunlocked tool, the first box was automatically checked ,( green mark) while 2 others gave "X" including phone verification. So that's why I thought something is wrong with the global ROM installed. While it still get updates without issues still baffle me.

skip the flash part use boot instead. It will be fastboot boot recovery.img if it boots, flash twrp as zip or image from twrp install menu
