Atiku vs Buhari in NW and NE will be a win for Buhari. NC is like 55 to 45 in Atiku's favour...SW is like 55 to 45 in Buhari's favour...SS and SE will be like 80 to 20 in Atiku's favour...But SS and SE combined won't cancel Buhari's lead in NW and NE...

Thinking politically, SE is sown up for PDP such that a vp from hence will not make a significant impact.
And this goes for SS. MB is in the bag as well.
The SW is the battle-ground in the south where they need to face Tinubu frontally and i see the APC crumbling.
PDP's non-challant approach to Ekiti and Osun elections not-withstanding, they
had a good showing.
They only need a vp bait to have the region sown-up.

Considering the battle at hand it will be most ideal to choose his running mate from the Southwest in order attract the southwest people since Lagos remains a battleground and young woman like Abiola Rinsola who just defected from APC in order to endear himself to Nigerian youths and indicate his interest in fulfilling of affirmative action for elective political positions for women.

Atiku already has the SS and SE locked down but voter apathy in the SE may make them not come out to vote and even if he wins the region, he may not have the numbers to win an already inflated NW vote for the dullard.

SW is a bad option cause it's a 50-50 thing. Their votes would be divided. Many of them want buhari out but are sympathetic to tinubu, While some hate tinubu. The PDP won't do well there so they should not risk it cause it'd be like throwing jewel to swine (not calling the SWesterners swine though before someone misconstrues my intention) they won't appreciate it.

My candid opinion, in Nigerian National politics Igbos are not yet in the picture. Atiku picking from SE or SS as running mate will be a bad market for PDP.
1. Buhari is no 1 hater of Igbos, and the Igbos know that, even if Buhari drops Osibanjo and takes any person in the SE, Igbos will not vote him and APc.

2.SS and SE are naturally PDP

3.Yorubas are dangerous politicians and highly tribalistic they always want their interest represented. despite the economy does not favor any body if Atiku picks running mate from SS or SE they will support Buhari because of Osibanjo.

4. Igbos wants their businesses to pick up again so they will vote for PDP whether they have VP slot or not.

5. so best bet for Atiku is pick Running mate from SW, Probably from from Abiola's family, Awolowo or any prominent person

You have a point but considering SW must be divided (due to obvious reasons) they is really no reason to kill the voting enthusiasm in your base down south (SE|SS). I hope they pick someone like okonjo who has southern appeal most especially been a proven administrator.
