I have been using it since 2015. Super cool controller.
Cool but heard it does not have equalize option

Yes, it does not have such. Used it on a fairly used battery from 2015 until this year when I changed the batteries. Pretty a great, affordable little charge controller that is totally worth the price. But if money is no problem, there are premium products out there with all the bells and whistles cheesy

Have not seen this before any reviews? Meanwhile some people still believe desufators are snake oil but if u insist you can get the more popular powerpulse. I intend to buy it on black Friday to test ie if it's cheaper that day
I have controlled empirical proof that they work (I've used the Infinitum brand for years) but not in all cases and definitely not with batteries dead from wear and tear (i.e. aging).

Best added to the batteries from the outset and works well with sulphation from batteries left standing unattended (not cyclic abuse though the latter also experience something of a revival but not for long as plate shedding soon appears to become another problem).

The barebone device pictured in original post .... I have no idea what it does nor what it might be capable of (in terms of benefits and possibly havoc).

I have used the BLS and PowerPulse model of desulphators for years and I can attest that the results are similar to what Oga Saipro has said for his own Infinitum brand.

I would say that the benefits are there especially when added from the outset but you may as well not bother since you could have applied the cash used to buy desulphators towards battery replacement instead. To do it right you need to apply a desulphator to each individual battery e.g in a 48v system with 4 units of 12v batteries, it is better to use 4 pcs of 12v desulphator attached to each individual battery vs 1pc 48v for the entire bank - and the cost of doing it right would be enough to buy at least one new battery instead grin

I am convinced that on a net basis the benefits of a desulphator offer only very marginal improvement over giving a proper charge or controlled overcharge to the batteries - people who experience battery longevity after attaching a desulphator are actually experiencing the benefits of a regular proper charge and misattributing it to their desulphator.

Be aware that if you use any of the MustPower brands or clone inverters, the pulses/voltage spikes the desulphator sends out are likely to damage your inverter control board and I think thesame is true for the older IPowerPlus (Axpert) inverters as well.

All in all, I would advise you invest in proven equipment to charge your batteries properly vs. spending money on the very negligible improvements a desulphator may offer.

the zenith batteries are agm so strictly no equalization allowed although I do this on limited basis.

maybe not exactly true, or i am lucky, used a desulphator for over 18months on a 4kva muspower inverter, using same desulphator on a highpower inverter, zero issues. even using a powerpulse desulphator on luminous ion inverter no issue, and even hv a desulphator hooked up to my car battery 24/7, no issues still

I am yet to be convinced desulphators improve battery longevity even marginally. Same with battery balancers. A good charging and discharging technic ensures longevity. In a way I feel that charging the batteries individually is the best approach even though the most expensive.

The last remaining BLS unit I had was a 24v

At least the BLS desulphator works off radio signals calibrated to a specific frequency to break up lead sulphate crystals vs the other types that send high voltage spikes/jolts into the battery.

One sure thing I know all the desulphators do is they improve charge acceptance - the battery seems to get full faster soon after you attach a desulphator.

To do an objective test of desulphator effectiveness, you have to control for other variables e.g how good of a charge your battery gets, average depth of discharge e.t c - since this is almost impossible to do (isolate the effect of other variables), the only test is to run two battery banks of the same brand and batch under identical charge and discharge conditions with the only difference being a desulphator attached to one bank and see how long each battery bank lasts before ultimate failure.

I have been using desulphators since 2011 in both car and house.

I have gotten results no different from other people who don't use them - some batteries seem to last forever while others die early despite all the measures taken to keep them healthy and alive.

The point about desulphators ruining inverter control circuitry was strictly for MustPower type inverters and not in general - Indian designs like Luminous e.t.c use different internal components and seem entirely unaffected, same for vehicle brain boxes e.t.c - you should confirm if you actually charge from the mains with your Mustpower and if indeed it still charges after using a 'pulse' type desulphator - not the BLS which uses radio frequency signals.

If you use a pulse type desulphator and your MustPower still charges correctly then you are probably the exception rather than the norm.

Please see below the science behind your apparent 'good luck' in the product description

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
Many desulfator products use an old technology inductor design to generate the pulse to desulfate a battery. This old technology creates a harsh inductor peak that can be damaging to the battery plates.
Utilising our new capacity pulsing method a “soft” peak is generated so dissolving sulfates without damaging the battery plates.

I highly doubt the science behind this. Or any device that claim to reverse battery sulphation. In the end Belief in these devices is like belief in a religion. Other than anecdotal evidence, there is no proof one way or the other, yet some believe fully, perhaps even fanatically, while others, including myself, do not believe in the supposed power of such devices and put our effort and money elsewhere.
So all I can say is "to each his own".

Just know that the transfer isn't as fast as an inverter;
so expect the device(s) to go off during switching.

No Sir! The point was - that was how little value I placed on the BLS by that time. Someone else wanted it and he was the middleman for the transaction.

I too do not believe anymore in desulphators - at least based on the preponderance of observed evidence. I don't use them anymore with any inverter but I still have them in my car - perhaps I am too lazy to remove them or perhaps a part of me still hopes/believes grin

If you are electronics savvy you can wire up your own transfer switch similar to the below picture - all you need is that black beefy contactor (LC1D25008 - but in your case you pick one suitably rated for your loads and duty cycle) and some lengths of wire and you are good to go.

I can repost a wiring diagram if you want. All the more fun for you as this is a DIY focused thread.

But I must ask why you want to use an automatic transfer switch between your mains and inverter? The standard wiring protocol in Naija is to have your inverter in between the Mains and your Inverter loads, this way Inverter powers the loads when there is no mains and the inbuilt transfer switch in the inverter case transfers the loads to mains whenever mains is available.

So what exactly are you trying to do with an external transfer switch?
