for the 100ft x 50ft land you want to fence, this is the break down of the workmanship

2200 blocks for the fence, and 308 blocks for the pillars (if you are using blocks for your pillars) 2508 blocks x N60 bricklayer + labour cost per block = N150, 408 for 9 inches blocks

2508 x N50 = N125, 400 for 6 inches blocks

Pls note that any form of casting, flooring or blinding and excavation is excluding in this cost, this cost is only for block setting
Thanks

Send down the rain roofs- how many feet high should it be?

It's called Hip Roofs ma..

And the height depends on the width of your house.

The person asking for survey plan to determine the fencing is not entirely wrong but he should have just explained himself. He reacted badly to being tagged a "fraud" just because he requested to see survey plan.

Some plots are irregular and will cost more to fence than a regular plot. Some are narrow, some are wider than normal.

Hello house, good to see that the properties section is still going strong. I would like anyone who has an idea on borehole construction to fill me in. It seems that there are several types of boreholes? I am not sure why i keep getting quotes that are so far apart. Someone said N250,000. Another person said that it is done for N350,000. The location is Kaduna. Thanks
You tried sending me a mail. About the borehole in KD? Don't have an idea. Just a visitor there

Where in his post did you see him ask any of those question, if that was his intention, for you dont conclude he is not wrong in asking for a Survey plan before he can do estimate for fencing, after specifying number of plots?

Some of you like to MAKE EXCUSE for fraudulent mediocrities sha. angry angry

If he likes, let him hit his desperate head on the roof, l don talk my own undecided undecided

I can see that another person has made the same Etsimate for Fencing, WITHOUT asking for Survey plan first, way to go.

hello house,i am having a very big issue with my house..so i just constructed a duplex and the issue of water is not letting me move in yet, after putting up a scafold to the roof level and placing the tank on it,i noticed water pressure is a bit low upstairs,so i was adviced to get pressure pump, after getting that, all became okay, but the only issue with that is that once there is no light, water does not get to enter upstairs at all..please house i really do need any suggestion to help remedy this situation, are there solar presure pumps available??

I know this response is a bit late and not even relevant... but I wanted to piggyback on your question to ask: why must we put bathrooms and toilets upstairs? I'm not a big fan of "ensuite" in family homes since it just increases toilet count. I grew up in two houses that did not have ensuite, and so don't really see a need as an adult... I just see it as hassle because now we've got to pay for, clean, and maintain more toilets and bathrooms than needed.

I'm seriously thinking we could save a lot of money and headache by just having the bathrooms downstairs, just like the kitchen, so we don't have to spend so much on piping, draining, pressure pumps, or tall water-tank stand. Just my thoughts...

12mm is ideal in this situation, your ring can however be made of 10mm but the 20 length of rod you are buying should be 12mm. The price difference wont be much since you are buying 20 so buy something that will give you rest of mind.

I'm all for less toilets in a home, but downstairs toilet? a No, No. So what happens in the middle of the night if one needs the toilet? By the time one trudges up and down the stairs to the toilet, sleep don clear for eye na. What if visitors are about and a member of the family wants to have their bath, especially female members, they will go through possibly the living room in towel or short brief in the glare of the visitors. Where is the privacy in one's home? A home that may be over 40 million. So we will spend millions to build a home with no privacy say we are saving on pvc pipes and tank. Toilets should be upstairs and downstairs and gatehouse.

I think this issue of fraud should have only come up if that guy had requested for the red copy of the survey plan. Most architects will request for the survey plan of a land before doing anything on it, from fencing to design, to get a more accurate dimension & site boundaries...This fraud dimension u are bringing into it doesn't make sense honestly...

Rubbish .....please stick to the Topic and stop comparing Apples, with Oranges! Fraudulent attempts never made sense to me, as well. undecided

We are not talking about an Architect here, we are talking about giving a SIMPLE FENCING ESTIMATE using Blocks!

How will an Architect who is supposed to draw your building do his job if he does not know the shape of the land, the dimensions, road-facing and other vital elements?
What has that one got to do with the Estimates like l have provided and someone else has also done same, for another member's request, on the previous page?

Until any of you pushing this agenda, can come up with a GENUINE REASON, apart from these tepid, fraudulent ones, on why he is requesting for that person's survey plan on a mere fencing estimate (given the dimensions of the land as a full plot already) , until then, l still insists his intentions border on fraud, knowing how 'private and personal', the information on a survey plan is.
If you dont need such document, dont ask for it.

Its like taking your vehicle to a Vulcanizer because you have a flat Tyre and he inisists you to deposit your Vehicle's Documents with him, before he can repair the Tyre!
Obviosuly, you will understand that if per-chance he steals your car in the night, he can take it all the way from Kaduna to Coutonou, to sell it off without any hindrance from the Police check points.... he has the Vehicle documents with him!

If you want to make comparisons, please ensure they are sensible ones or just stay in your lane.
It is becoming the trademark of SOME Contractors here , to LURE unsuspecting members into parting with their vital documents,(I know the credible Contractors never ask for such documents except it is aboslutely necessary and that we can all see/understand) when they seek simple assistance, just so you can have such members under your control and use their documents for your own nefarious intents. That is FRAUDULENT.
We see it all the time but most just decide to keep quiet, hoping the owner of the document will be discerning enough to know what to do.
We dont want a repeat of some past events to happen here again.

But why is it that those 'repeatedly defending' this thing are Contractors, is it a sort of 'comradeship'?
Please let the matter rest, it has been resolved almost ten days ago.

I feel the same. I like larger rooms and spacious bathrooms, and family interaction as we use the bathrooms.

My honest advice (without asking for your Survey plan grin ) is to do CONCRETE STAMPING...... and let it be done by someone with a track record of doing a good job.
- Its a one-time work, once done, it is done ..'except if you intend to re-color it when re-painting the house shocked grin
- Maintenance-free
- Increase support for outer walls of building
- Every interlock will fail at one time in the future because the pressure from usage (vehicle tyres, human feet, e.t.c) is never equally distributed on the interlock. Some places that will fail first, experience more pressure than others and it is only natural that those places get depressed faster than areas that rarely experience any pressure.

BTW, l am talking from personal experience, having done three buildings for myself in the last few years.
