Good day A colleague of mine wants to buy a Mitsubishi Outlander tokunbo for his mum, and he is seeking opinions based on the following criteria 1) Ease of maintenance 2) Availability of parts 3) Common issues 4) Durability 5) Repair complexity :Can the car be handled by an averagely good mechanic, of course he would supervise 6) Fuel Consumption The car is not meant to be an everyday car as it will only be used when needed. A picture of the car (Not exact One) is as attached

Yeae of the ride would have also helped but for the 2001 version I rode not bad at all. With good maintenance culture I would say go for it........... that ride is rugged. Quite economical as per fuel consumption. Engine is easy peasy. Any jap mech can handle. Parts available and not too pricey. Second hand value not to one to place high hopes for though. On in all its a good ride. Please confirm and inspect the car properly. It took me on some sweet journeys without issues.. PH TO Ogun State and Ogun to Abuja.. Ac works well. Engine a little underpowered for the size of the ride but not a problem for his mum I guess.. Except she is a track burner herself.. |

watch out for the rusting fuel tank. that one nah wahala for replacement Also the gear there is one parked in my area with faulty gear. As it is tokunbo you are safe but don't pour palm oil inside the gear. I don't know if this particular ride is known for smoking as claimed by those using the SUV from mitsubishi. just buy a clean vehicle follow the mathematics of maintenance and arrive at equation of peace of mind |

For the Nigerian used I got fuel usage is very low compared to using a jeep. It's fast and smooth. Did some servicing by changing worn out parts and it been. Cheap. 1 Like |
