GlitteringStar:The calculation also requires some additions and that was the point I was trying to make earlier. As tight as it already appears, it is not complete as children come with their own set of expenses - minder (if applicable), after school activities and even the ones they will ask you to pay in school, clothes and shoes to buy as they grow etc. All these should also be factored into the calculation to help her make an informed decision. 5 Likes |

Bsbabe: Very true. I was thinking under the same line as well. With children there are always unpredictable expenses. Not to forget birthdays. Each time a child is invited to a classmate's birthday, the child has to carry a gift for that classmate. 6 Likes 1 Share |

ibkaa:In Alberta, what you would get would be student loans plus grants (Federal and Provincial). If you have kids you would receive generous grants which might be half of whatever total amount you receive per year, e.g You could get up to $6000 as grant out of a total of $12000 per year. But if you do not have kids, your grant would be low. Maybe $1500 out of $12000. After grad, you dont payback the grants but you have to pay back the loan with interest. if for any reason, you withdraw out of the program, the grants would be converted to loan and you pay all back. This is what I have heard from people that took out financial aid. Checkout Alberta Student Aid. Goodluck. 7 Likes 4 Shares |

GlitteringStar:My sister, na true o. I have checked off two certifications out of my planned three since I got here, the final outstanding one being the toughest. Preparing for it made me realize I may not be cut out for full time study at this time and it is not as if I need the college certificate. Just wanted to broaden my knowledge and use it to pass time till I am ready to look for work. However, I found out from networking that I was already marketable the way I was, so I thought why delay the inevitable (which is to work eventually) and also suffer in the process? 2 Likes 1 Share |

threadstone:Fuc k bubu He needs to enforce tax payments in Nigeria before thinking of collecting tax from Nigerians abroad. If tax payment enforcement in Nigeria fully suceeds, then I will be left with no option than to forfeit my Nigerian citizenship instead of paying tax to the Nigerian government, but I hope this does not apply to Nigerians residing abroad that do not pay tax in Nigeria. |

GlitteringStar: Lol except e get precedent of Boss13 misyarning, i believe e dey only fair to give am the benefit of a doubt. Cos for my naive eye, e dey easier to believe say the question was just an improperly phrased question wey no get enough context to turn out as a polite question. Plus you sef, go don see me countless times for the whatsapp group apologising for reaching a conclusion only to realise say I miss out some key details on person comment... So e dey possible say "the family of two" na oversight to boss13. The koko na say I just no see wetin him go gain denigrating a fellow human on a faceless forum, esp one wey e no get history with. Plus being a single mom to me is not something to be ashamef of, let alone deride someone for. So, in the abscence of a precedence, we choosing to disregard e explanation, and going on to believe say that na e intent, na based on say we dey obstinate on him being ill tongued. Anyways, I am beginning to look like a defender of the indefensible.I never get yarnings with anyone of dem before, wetin dey give me voltage na for peace to reign, make we all pipe down small. I apologise for dragging this on. I understand say this one contentious, apologies to anyone wey my defence provoke and wey hand dey scratch to konk my teeth or draw my ear... Once, once, person gats just think the best of person. 4 Likes |
