This breaks my heart, what happened to having a good name? we shouldn't tow this path no matter the circumstances involved. My father will always call my name and say don't depend on government for anything, that is why I am saving so I can smile when I retire and my pension isn't paid. That's the same set I have carried and make bold to vow I have never and will never involve my self in corruption.
It's not going to be easy as persecution will definitely come but my brother the future of this nation is in our hands.

God bless you captain. May God Lord continue to make you stand strong in the midst of adversity.

People doesn't know you will ripe whatever you sow. Might not be now.. But definitely you will.. For every corruption there are tears in homes of some people. Can you count how many innocent soldiers died of lack of ammunition to fight insurgency? Cos of corruption! We can still stand right . Whatever it is right do it!

At a point in the match, age wise, our attacking line became 21, 21, 22, 22
After Ighalo 29 was subbed off I guess. I like this kinda news.

It felt like there was no big name on the pitch. Asin big name naija ego player.

We should get ready o.

JJ okocha dropped the 10jersey for Mikel era and now Mikel has to drop it for JJ's nephew@Iwobi!!! lol.

Those SA have a pitch that would favour us than them.

Let me add something to this corruption talk.

Nigeria is not irredeemably corrupt. This is inspite of endemic corruption, you see around you.

When i first got to the US. What struck was not a lack of corruption but the systems and controls in place to check it. These systems once established begin to shape behavior with time. I remember telling people that America is potentially as corrupt as Nigeria if you remove the consequences.

We are too focused on catching criminals and less focused on making it incredibly hard to steal in the first place. If you arrest a corrupt person today, another corrupt person will simply replace him if there are no proper systems.

What does this mean? It means government should be focused on proper reforms on how agencies operate. And this is achievable. I have worked in consulting and provided financial control recommendations to major companies.

I remember speaking to Nigerian Senator a few years ago and he bluntly told me that the only hope for Nigeria is the future generation because his generation are so messed up.

We can not go into service with the mentality of stealing.. We need more people willing to serve and do the right thing.

Add this and make political offices less attractive with capital punishment for corrupt politicians

See ehh Danny, I dont know if u were here few months ago when I wrote about, Morocco, Kenya/Ethiopia, Rwanda as a possible destination for the 2019 Afcon, should Cameroun not meet up on time? Out of ignorance, ppl went berserk on reading that post because the saw Kenya and Ethiopia, man I just smh and laughed it off because it is said that my ppl perish due to ignorance. I knew a day like this would come. I follow the Kenyan league though because of Gor Mahia, and I tell u, Kenya has some beautiful stadiums with world class pitches.

Those countries you mentioned are actually very decent ..world class facilities and better governance.. But eh bro, hosting an international tournament like the afcon goes behind having beautiful pitches oo.. Apart from the Moi international stadium and another one like that, I doubt if Kenya has other better ones. and they are both located in Nairobi... This same Kenya were supposed to host the last CHAN but it was taken from them cus they couldn't get their stadiums ready on time .. I doubt if Rwanda can has the resources too..same goes to Ethiopia. They will cough up billions of dollars to build stadiums and upgrade infrastructures... My brother,it's.not that easy. . Add to the fact that CAF has now increased the afcon to 24 teams... If those countries can get the fund,I have no doubt that they will organise a great tournament though.

Only Morocco in ur list has the capacity to host it as at now...

Please permit me to call you a biased, over pessimistic, closed-minded complete idiot.

Ighalo gave his sweat and toil and won a resounding hat trick and you have the temerity to post this rubbish?

Is it until Ighalo scores Fifty goals in a match that you will know he is good? Is it until he dribbles the entire eleven opposition players and scores?. Do you know the last time a player scored a hat trick in the GWG? Even Kanu Nwankwo with all his incredible talent never did that for us.

Why must you concentrate on what he didn't do well rather than on his achievements?. This shows that you are no impartial critic, you're just a CHRONIC HATER looking for who to infect with your unfounded pessimism.

Owngoalnigeria.com witnessed the game live at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium and our correspondent reveals the five things he noticed about the Super Eagles in the course of the win over the Mediterranean Knights.

1. Jamilu Collins Should Be Eagles First Choice Left Back- He is what Nigerians have been crying out for. A quick left full back who can defend, attack and also contribute to team balance. Barring a criminal loss of form, the Paderborn left full back has no doubt cemented his spot as first choice at left back for the Super Eagles.

2. Alex Iwobi Is A Classic Number 10 – Playing alongside creative players like Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan among others has helped his decision making particularly this season under Unai Emery. He operated as a classic number ten as he was not just assured in possession, he picked his passes at the right time and also executed them with minimum fuss.

3. Ekong Is Most Improved Player Under Rohr- If there’s an award for the most improved Super Eagles player then Ekong should win it. His growth is phenomenal both at club level and at international level where he is now one of the captains of the team. Yesterday’s game showed how well he has matured from 2013 when he first played for Nigeria.

4. Samuel Kalu ‎Is A Mix Bag Of Pleasure & Pain – Never has a player integrated so fast into the team like Kalu has in such a short time but his decision making is stil a big worry. The Bordeaux forward is usually caught in between shooting or passing and more often than not he took the wrong decision during yesterday’s game. He still has it in him to come good.

5. Uzoho Is Nigeria’s Best For Now – Francis Uzoho wasn’t quite troubled yesterday by the Libyans but his save in the first half played a big role in the 4 -0 win because if the first half header which he saved ‎had gone in Libya would have draw level. The decision to make him the first choice goalkeeper of the Super Eagles appears to be settled for now.

I totally agree with the no.1 without any iota of doubt, bias, sentiment or emotional prejudice .
Even if Collins wasn't too great yesterday, I have no doubt that he will still improve.. a natural left footed left back is always better than a right footed left back..
I'm not tryna bring Idowu down o...But how the hell did he become a left back ?? He was one of our weakest link in Russia with his lack of offensive contributions...

Not "one of", Idowu was our worst player both in the pre-WC friendlies (except with the second half in the Argentina friendly) and at the WC itself. Dude is very poor. He isn't much better than Echiejile to be fair.

Couldn't agree more.. He totally scammed us with that goal against Argentina grin .. Aina who was supposed to replace pa Elderson didn't make matters better either. he too was poor in the pre world cup friendless..

I'm afraid its gonna take more than club form for Aina to displace Shehu at RB...Tuesday presents another opportunity for him....

The CV is intimidating... cry cry cry.. The only governor that left 160million dollars while leaving office... All debt cleared!

Tribalism and ethnicity should be taken aside... I watched Vietnam success story I started crying.. Just 10yrs developmental plan and focus on human resources.. Then I looked at Nigeria.. I just shake my head...

That is the key: "Investing in human Resources". As this will Create more business men/ Entrepreneurs.

Decentralize Power generation and boost Transmission Capacity. This will boost power supply and also create jobs. Improved Power supply will obviously boost our business climate and ensure better performances of SMEs which will in turn create more jobs. Nigeria's large population will ensure there is always market for goods and Services produced. Besides, also, the West African market is also there.

O boy, fixing the economy is no rocket science. Just that the forces that be will not allow a lot of these policies to see the light of the day.

We need a strong willed leader that can battle these " forces". That is if the leader himself is not part of the "forces"

Tuesday may be Aina's last chance to seal his spot at RB, if he underperforms again, then I'm afraid we are stuck with Shehu until Ebuehi returns.

I feel for Moses Simon though, Rohr now has a permanent crush on Kalu and now Onyekuru and Musa are back in serious contention....I pity the young man, his club inactivity is not helping matters too.

The Etebo we saw yesterday was no different from the Etebo we saw in the world cup

He keeps the ball for too long and goes into stupid sliding tackles when the ball is nicked off him

The Libyans penetrated through our midfield in the first half because he was not ready to be a defensive cover as Ndidi
Etebo major quality is his a great ball carrier and has insane stamina. I also don't think it's a good idea to play him and Ndidi as pivot.
He's someone who works better in front of a Regista.

For the second time in a few weeks, I am again forced to ask you if you watch the same matches others are watching.

So we should bench a hat trick hero for a player that was anonymous in his short cameo?

And we should bench Etebo, our second best creative midfielder for Ogu who hasn't played a minute for us since before the WC?.

Bros fear God na.

In regards to number 2, Iwobi can also play outwide as an inverted playmaker. Let's not act like he hasn't had success playing well.
When he plays that position at Arsenal you see him drifting and swapping positions with the likes of Ozil and Mkhitaryan. With SE, he doesn't have that luxury especially when we play Mikel as 10.

100 percent facts at the bolded. Corruption at Wall Street, etc is probably just as bad - the thing is closing all the avenues and any loopholes for them to take advantage of.
Just watch American Greed and you'll see they stack up to us when it comes to "corruption".

Second leg Starting Line-up
------—-----Uzoho-------------
Aina-Ekong-Balogun-Collins
---------Ndidi-Etebo---------
Musa-Iwobi-Kalu
—-------Ighalo---------

Question:
Who played the right back position against Seychelles?
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by gamaliel9: 6:50pm On Oct 14, 2018
On Iwobi...

I feel he needs to face a more tactical-no-space team...to STRETCH AND TASK HIS CREATIVITY...he had so much space yesterday...if you watch the match again...you will see about three or more occasions he was crowded out and he could not wriggle out or change direction...he lost his mojo grin...

More importantly...i think his strong point is DELIVERING THAT FINAL PASS...i think his best position is just behind two main strikers...not moving deep into midfield...

Good observation.

I believe he'll improve in that aspect too.

The boys are maturing and growing with every passing game. The gulf in difference between how they approached our first AFCON qualifier match against SA- (a match where the seniors- Mikel, Moses, Balogun and Ighalo were absent) and yesterday's game with similar omissions (Mikel, Onazi, Moses the retiree) can not be overlooked.

SA will be shocked when they host us come November. I expect Mikel to be fit and available for the encounter.

hahahahah..

Anybody waiting for a miracle to happen and Nigeria to be free from corruption is a day dreamer..

Corruption is now a norm in Nigeria and 88% of Nigerians including me has aligned, developed a thick skin and also geled into the system in such a way that its no more a rocket science to me.. In fact I have no other option to like it like that..
And if u don't partake in bribery, fraud and corruption in Nigeria, my brother unless u re already born into establishment, u re gonna be fvcked up for life.

There has never been any non corrupt politician bad there will never be as far as Nigeria is concerned. Even if u claim to be incorruptible.. The corrupt majority will fvck up ur life.

I only see these as a way of life.. Corruption is a way of life in Nigeria and we have no option than to gel and like it like that.. Even if u don't like it, there is nothing u can do about it..

Even though, I speak against corruption and its effects every now and then, I know when if and when I find myself in public office, I may not necessarily steal heartlessly and foolishly like our forefathers who stuffed the Commonwealth of the country in foreign countries. I'm going to make use of the resources at my disposal to make sure I'm getting paid for the rest of my life, this can't be possible if the state ain't working.
