How many Igbos are in SW?
How many are registered to vote?
How many will vote for Atiku
How many will vote for Buhari?

If most Igbos in SW vote for candidate A, how would it affect candidate B in the SW, and by extension, the entire country?

Keep in mind most of the SW vote is in Lagos where Igbos are up to 40% of the population.

These are important questions for the upcoming presidential election. So front page please

That 40% igbo population assertion is grossly misleading and false. We are tired of correcting igbos on this issue.

And please reduce the number of threads being created on this Atiku issue, it will help to ameliorate the pains of his loss when it happens next year. The man must have realised he made a mistake to have associated with the igbos as that will alienate the other major Nigerian tribes.

It is well.

Oya mi lenu oooo shocked

Their matter tire me jareee. I can't wait for the election to come and go so we can concentrate on other issues. Atiku himself knows he has lost the elections. He must be regretting by now.

May God guide us till February and beyond to enable us affirm Buhari's victory at the polls. It is not easy but we would survive and be better for it as a nation.

It's actually not rubbish. The claim that SW is majorly for Buhari needs to be tested empirically. There is a large Yoruba PDP in SW. What happened in Osun clearly shows that to be the case. Add the native Yoruba PDP to Igbos in SW which are mostly PDP. What does that tell us?

Why don't you wait to test it next year in aid of Atiku/Obi?

Pulling out statistics from thin air without empirical evidence is what makes the Igbo tribe the butt of jokes in contemporary political discourse in this country. You guys need a huge reality check, maybe, just maybe next year's elections is what will demonstrate how Nigerians perceive Igbos.

In the meantime, take it easy with the lies and false claims.

So how many Igbos live in Lagos? Who will they vote for, plus the native Yoruba PDP?

If we are to believe that, how come the few places that Ibos managed to win in Lagos has 90% Ibo residents....

The day an Ibo man win election in Ijebu Ode or Akure is the day this end time assumption of Ibos having significant population in the west will really stand... Now it's mere wishful thinking to gas una heads...

P.S... The ones in the core north somehow manage to take their "vacation" when its election time, this one won't be any different.

I am talking about FEDERAL elections in which where you live in the state does not matter. Can you at least answer my question of how many Igbos live in SW or Lagos? THANKS.

Even if he wins, he would never be declared winner and there is no Yoruba nation to fight for him. The igbos will have to do the fighting to retrieve Atiku's mandate in the East.

Yorubas will just be watching. I don't see us fighting for igbos after all the hate.

You are the one that needs the census.... Find it yourself....An Ibo man that registered in the PU near his shop in Balogun will travel from his home in Amuwo or Okoko or Ajegunle or Surulere to vote on that day.... smiley

see this mumu. igbos dont have up to 300,000 votes in lagos.only a novice of nigerian political terrian will believe populations of non indigene of a state equates to their voting strength.
no state in nigeria today u will find non indigene of a state having up to 500,000 voters .this is a political game usually plays by every govt of a state in nigeria. they ensure voting populations of non indigenes re in check always so that they dont push away the indigenes with their voting power in political battle.
thats why ibos cannot determine a governor or senator in the western state or north

hausas cannot determine governors and senators in south.that has been the status quo since.

Re: 2019: Igbos In SW, Especially Lagos by RockHard: 7:34pm On Oct 14, 2018
The only part of the SW where igbos are in considerable numbers is Lagos. If there are an estimated 20-million people in Lagos and we assume igbos alone constitute roughly 30% of the figure (hypothetically speaking), that puts their population at roughly 5-million. There are an estimated 6-million registered voters in Lagos, but only roughly 2-3million or thereabout would come out to vote. The political structure of the state is dominantly and firmly in the hands of the APC. The Lagos wing of the PDP is also firmly in the control of Yorubas.

The 2015 general elections was the most promising chance the PDP had since '99 of 'capturing' the state (thanks to federal might) but they still fell short. PDP spent a shytload of Dasuki loot/money (in foreign currency) inducing voters to vote for GEJ and Agbaje, so much so that Tinubu and the APC were almost caught napping because they were outspent by PDP in that election. But I doubt such an opportunity will present itself again come next year.

Igbo votes in other SW states are inconsequential and negligible because not only are they relatively far fewer in number enough to pose any threat, they mostly just tend to their trading businesses. If Atiku will make any headway in the SW, particularly outside Lagos, that would depend largely on how motivated and fired up the Yoruba PDP folks are about his candidacy. It will be foolish to expect the same level of turnout that greeted PDP in Ekiti and Osun during the recent gubernatorial elections for Atiku. Atiku must be willing to spend as much as GEJ did (via the Dasuki money) in 2015 (or more) all over the SW to get anything close to those GEJ figures, and this is where the APC will edge them out. APC will certainly rig its way to victory in the SW (as PDP will also do in its strongholds) and there will be no PDP federal might to mitigate that.

You are the only one alienated. Not everyone is as extreme as you are. Being Igbos, I'd have preferred a Fashola but Atiku should have picked Adeshina.
But then he made his choice and the Obi is as good as my sweet Adeshina.
Atiku is a liberal being, people whom has dealt with Intel will tell you.
Choosing Obi doesn't mean he is more with Igbos than the Yorubas. Atiku is a liberal mind
