Ikeja is a bad place
Theyve turn my system from screen problem to scrap. I took it there to change the broken screen and from there they spoilt the display and also the flex cable, i paid x2 and quarter of what I'm suppose to pay for screen on it all still to no solution(excluding daily tfare) ....if it displays for a while, it will go from old movies lines to blurry to white screen... I just tired..... HP probook 4430s

PS: if anyone is interested in buying pls lemme know

hmmm the problem is everyone thinks they can do repairs on their own (in all areas of LIFE) ... sorry for the damage I know you know someone that's an engineer but u decide to go over to IKEJA yourself

Well I already state two possible cause of the problem.

You said the previous engineer did some servicing and it started working again.

If after testing with another RAM, hdd and probably must have test with another processor then what else could be the fault?

I'd like to know what he said.

Please I changed the OS of my system from Windows 8 to win 10. I notice my battery doesn't last as it usually does. Battery to last up to 3 hours can barely stay for an hour now.

What can be the problem?

Sorry about this, you know sh1t do happen and its unfortunate this happened to and couldn't be resolved after wasting your time and money.

One thing about electronic is that, there is no room for mistake, if you don't do it the right way then its gone.

Even professionals do mistake but going by what you said, I think you gave your system to a quack.
It won't take up to 30mins to fix a laptop screen successfully as long as the engineer do what's necessary.

With what is happening to your system now, that's a symptom of a bad screen, bad flex or screen not getting the right voltage.

We still have good engineers in ikeja.

The bolded have all been said by the engineer and collected money for to repair but still not working bros......do you work at Ikeja.....looks like I'll just have to sell it with this wahala oo

No observable changes(s).

I don't think he changed any of these components permanently. He only tested each of the components on the computer to ascertain which one exactly is faulty and needed to be replaced.

I think after testing his own samples on the system, the issue still persisted and he had to conclude it was none of these components, so he fixed mine back.

I'm writing all these according to his explanation. Not certain he truly tested all these with his own components.

So I gave the Laptop to a recommended engineer today , explained all the issue and all I have been through to him.
He said it could be the motherboard if it's not the HDD or RAM or OS.
He tested the two 4GB RAM that made up the 8GB RAM of the laptop, both worked fine.
✓ Not RAM issue.

He then tested the Hard disk with some software (like rating or so)
He said the HDD failed the test ... It's below 27% or so... The hard disk was tested on another laptop and it was even giving signs that the HDD is faulty. (It was displaying a CAUTION symbol)

He inserted another HDD on my laptop and it worked fine for about 20mins... And then, Boom! It hanged again.

He told me to wait while he check for more possible cause (doesn't want to jump to the motherboard being faulty) of a thing.
I had to abandon it with him while he does his checking cos I have other things to attend to.
I filled a form in his office Sha and he said he'll get back to me tonight...

Haven't heard from him as I post this though.

Let's not go to the motherboard side now, have you tried to update the bios? Try that and see.

What's the model of your laptop and did it fall on the ground if yes, this might have made the hdd to shift from it connector if there is nothing holding it.

Check if the hdd has been displaced from its position or do windows repair with an installation OS, that way you save your files.
