All thanks to God for completing the journey he started for me and my family.

I heard about the CAnny journey from a colleague in August 2017 but did not think much about it, until another colleague resigned a month later for Canada ( eyes come clear...the Canny hustle is real shocked shocked shocked)

I immediately came to Nairaland ( Naija resource Center ) for all the information i could gather.....and there was more than enough there....In one week i read over 100 pages and knew all the steps

IQAS EVALUATION - 22nd November 2017
First IELTS - LWRS - 7.5, 6.5, 8, 7.5 - October 2017
Second IELTS - LWRS - 8.5, 7, 7, 7.5 - October 2017 ( MOD IDP - had my Writing remarked)
IELTS for Wifey - LWRS - 7.5, 6.5, 8, 7.5 - January 2018
Score - 449
ITA = Febebruary 21 2018
AOR - March 26th 2018
IP1 - 5th April 2018
IP2 - 19th June 2018
GCMS Note - 23rd July 2018
Ghost Update - 12th October 2018
Golden Mail - 16th October 2018
Timeline - 6 Months and 20 days

Visa Offie was Ottawa, and was moved to Central Intake Office, sydney Nova Scotia ( where all the drama started) and i saw that Retirement Savings Account was not considered in my POF, i had to quickly add money to make up the disregarded portion.
To everyone who is still on the Journey.....don't give up....

I actually LOL @ the “eye-clearing epiphany”. Congratulations dear.

The background to the story is not clear. Which qualification did you use to calculate 438 if you are not using your naija B.Sc?
olujastro:
I did ielts last month and my CRS is 438 at the moment, 2 points below the current 440. If I wait till July/Aug next year my CRS will be 473 courtesy of masters and age.
My initial plan was to wait till next year before entering pool, but my friends have been putting pressure on me to use my Nigerian BSc and apply instead, citing unfounded fears that things can change really fast by next year (EE could stop, the process and required documents can become more difficult, etc.).

The problems I have with using my naija BSc is the unnecessary stress and cost of verifying transcripts. Having to put enormous pressure on people and bribe them to do their jobs that they're paid to do is sickening to me. With European degrees, it's about one click away at almost no cost. So I'll be happy to avoid all the naija wahala especially with WES now demanding WAEC for Nigerian degrees.

Any chance the cut off will drop below 440? What's the pattern like for cut offs...does it increase or decrease at the beginning or end of the year?
Any advice if you were in my shoes?

I advice you start the process with your BSc. Your friends concern about the continuity of EE is not unfounded. 2/3 of my family is set, we are making sure the last gets in before next year's election. There will be an election next year and the liberals would probably lose, the conservatives are no friends of immigrants, they have a plan to make the program difficult or even scrapped as a whole. I would have said EE will be scrapped by next year because I thought the liberals will surely lose, but the conservative camp has been divided with Maxim Bernier, a famous conservative leaving for a different party, so they are no more united like before to pose a serious challenge to the liberals.
Everything is left to probability now and can change in an instant. Stay safe and start the process while you still have a chance. Nigeria ain't fun.

Hoping to register for the "Planning for Canada" session(s) soon as i can.
Apparently its something we are not taking advantage of enough here. Speaking with my sister-in-law who landed recently, she wishes she had attended it. The experience of moving has been a tad bit overwhelming

Hmmm... This got me mouth gaping. Had to abandon the elegy I was composing for AVO.

Wow! 17 solid months.

This journey is definitely not for the faint hearted.

I thought I was the oldest grey haired AORed left.

So I know I have to do this now . Many of you might not know my "moniker" but I have been in this race since 2016.All my mates here in Nairaland have all landed sef. Now I want you to look at my timeline carefully and note the year.

I had to stop commenting on Nairaland as I neither belonged to this thread nor did I belong to the threAd of those who had already landed . I was sha in between

An update came late August for another set of Medicals as the one previously done had expired. We finally got a date in October.

Let's just say PPR landed this morning, Oct 16th 2018;10 days after the second Medicals and 17 months after AOR. Thank you to @glitteringstar and @chinne4Jesus for still checking on me from time to time.

My great family. It has happened! The joy I feel right now cannot be described. My chest o!

I remember precisely on the 28th of September when;

iaatmguy said, "aswearoGod but i wonder why those announcing type short post and term it "LONG POST ALERT". Mods please lets enforce PPR announcement to be 1,000,000 words".
iaatmguy, i hope say you don fix that keyboard? Lol.

30 minutes later, Ifeoma77 replied saying, "I second this motion jare! Every time I see "It's PPR, Long post alert", e dey sweet my belle. We want more".

Tojued (talking to Expectantbee) said, "Congratulations! Eagerly awaiting the full gist! Like was suggested today, please make it as long as possible".

So please, abeg, biko, ejo, make una permit me to sweet Ifeoma belle, enforce iaatmguy's PPR-announcement-with-1-million-words policy and make it as long as possible for Tojued by declaring this announcement a #LONG FUNNY DRAMATIC POST. Enjoy!

LOL........................

Thanks guys for all the invaluable information, helpful tips and encouragements. I love the spirit here. Such an atmosphere of friendly and pleasant people with positive mindsets. The collaboration, support and eagerness at which everyone helps each other is amazing. God bless you all.

Most importantly, I thank God for seeing me through every step of this arduous albeit exciting and interesting journey.

My announcement would NEVER be complete if I don't pray to God to immeasurably bless my altruistic and selfless brother @Topsmamen whose constant encouragement piqued my interest to try Express Entry shortly after he sacrificed so much for me by paying my tuition fees to go for my Masters in the UK in 2015. Prior to that, Naija dealt me a heavy blow as I was going through harsh times at my place of work and I had lost so much weight and looking pale. I decided there and then that since I wasn't born to suffer, I needed to throw my punch back at Naija. My brother once saw a picture of me looking frail and malnourished and he was quite stunned like "Haba! This is too much na. We need to get you out of Naija. Let's try the UK". I was glad he read my mind but I had no idea how I could single-handedly leave the country and fend for myself (with a meagre salary and with not much to go on). The plan was that I would do my best to settle in the UK because at the time, we presumed that my degree and experience in Health and Social Care would fetch me a job and I would settle in the UK (smh....how ignorant we were). Friends and family residing in the UK also encouraged me to try the UK with promises of helping me with a job and settle in the UK (I should have just 'yinmu-ed' at them but my desperation to leave Nigeria made me believe and swallow their story). After completing my Masters, village people somehow made me go back to Nigeria and the hustle continued. It got worse, I went into making cocktails and beads to survive. I eventually got a job at a hospital with a salary of 40k and to make matters worse, my salary was never paid on time. At this point, my brother was too broke to help the family as he had just spent his entire life savings on my Masters. Till today, I do not know how we managed, but God kept us.

Fast forward to 2017 and he came up with the Express Entry idea. His words were "why don't you try this too? You have a Masters degree, age is on your side, and all you need to do is write the IELTS and evaluate your Masters degree". I felt bad that he had spent a lot of money on me and we ended up not achieving our ultimate goal for me to settle in the UK so I told him I would wait till things got better as I could not put him through this again. He explained that my going to the UK was not a waste as I had achieved a Masters degree and that as a matter of fact, the Masters degree would help boost my CRS points and this made a lot of sense. We had no idea how we would get funds to start the process considering that a lot of money would be involved, I felt totally helpless but after several discussions with him, and knowing that he also had no idea where the money would come from, we held on to faith and we decided to take it one step at a time starting with WES. This decision was made on May 5, 2017. I remember that day vividly because that was the first time I learned of the province - "Saskatchewan". I took to the internet to do research on Express Entry and Canada, I looked at several internet images and read up about Canada and before i knew it, I was having a crush on Canada. Basically, plans for my life became Canada-focused. I spent a great deal of time reading about my new Country and the provinces/territories: their culture, history, employment, skill gaps and socio-economic development. My research was quite deep that I even got to learn that Nova Scotia is well known for their fish and lobsters....lol. I imagined myself in Canada already (Yes, I can dream not just for Africa, but the world too). In November 2017, I stumbled on the Part 2 of the Canada Express entry on Nairaland and page 1 caught my attention. God bless Zandora, 40manlappy and GlitteringStar for placing such detailed and vast information in a properly arranged manner. God bless you all. The infamous Page 1 is not a punishment as people think, it's actually quite an interesting read. The people who have created this life-changing threads have done tremendously well and deserve praise. I mean, it's a lot of work. I implore newbies to read as much as possible, this has been repeatedly advised by countless people and do not take it personally when you are referred to Mr Page 1. The knowledge you gain by reading here can never be taken from you and will forever be yours to keep, so read up guys. None of us got here knowing all what we know now. Take a look at our beloved brother - smslive2, who was once a newcomer but now has over 2 million Nairaland followers and has built an empire in Nairaland City (Bro, no be shots fired this time o, na accolades fired. Lol. The calmness and patience you display in your responses to questions are laudable, please keep up the good work).

So my people, that was how he did everything (from my 'deciding-to-go-to-Canada' stage up till PPR). He prepared me for the IELTS and thankfully, my first and only attempt was LRWS: 9, 9, 8, 8.). He paid my WES fees, dived into the pool with me (I mean, he created and submitted my EE profile....lol). Together, we painstakingly spent several weeks in contact with each other to ensure that my former employer wrote the reference letter correctly and also to ensure that my bank statements, gift deed, LOEs and additional documents were in the required formats. He re-reviewed all my documents and ensured they were in good order, he deposited $7,000 into my account as part of my gift deed (when he was barely managing his own finances and other obligations), he paid my RPRF fees and submitted my eAPR. He also paid for and ordered my GCMS notes.

I am utterly blessed to have him as my brother. He took the pain of constantly checking my profile and always told me, "Don't worry, your PPR will come soon". He basically took most of the pressure off me. I owe him a great deal of gratitude and God-willing, I will return the favour in a million fold. There are countless great things that he has done in my life that mentioning them here would make this my PPR announcement seem like an ABRIDGED GIST.....lol. Many thanks bro! You're a rare gem. God bless you in unimaginable ways. #MyRealMVP#MySuperHero#YouCameThroughForMe.

To my fellow sisters and brothers - dumsydsassy1, Tippex, wizean, vickyehi, doncorleone, ShininLite and other June AORS, I can't wait for your PPR announcements. I'm praying along and rooting for you guys.

For those who are on the verge of giving up on this journey, please do not despair. Divine help will definitely come your way.
For those in different stages of the application, let us keep being hopeful, the wait might be exhausting and stressful, but it will eventually happen. Last last, we would all meet in Canada someday and rejoice over our PR successes and laugh at the interesting drama and plenty fights here.

On my way now to submit my passport sharply as I owe my loving brother some sweet 15 sibling points. The journey is not over until we both get our COPRs and land in Canada. It will surely end in praise. #DancingShakuShakuAway. I will keep you guys updated as events unfold. Thank you All.

Make I drop this phone and hold my dear passport tight because this bus conductor is looking at me like .........

Wow...just WOW. Your post got me on various sides and I can only pray that much more than now,you will have reasons to keep celebrating in “your/our new country “ (as you so eloquently put it). The world needs people like your brother o. God bless his heart. BTW—-mbok do and let’s write a novel or something...e just dey totori me.LOL!

In other news, all these PPR news you people are sharing...please let it continue o!!! Congratulations to everyone concerned.

I used my naija BSc to calculate 438 and I have yet to do ECA. I'm in Europe now. Supposed to be done with my 2 year masters in June this year but I extended by 1yr for personal reasons. So till 2019.

Yeah I saw that too but the OP didn't say if his/her Ielts has been topped. Reading score improvement from 8 to 9 can take the OP above crs 440.

Also, the last draw was 440. You never know, the points may reduce further this year. All I'm saying is we should all make hay while sun shines.

My great family. It has happened! The joy I feel right now cannot be described. My chest o!

I remember precisely on the 28th of September when;

iaatmguy said, "aswearoGod but i wonder why those announcing type short post and term it "LONG POST ALERT".

Wooow... wow... congrats. Great story, God bless bless bless your brother mightliy. he middle name is selfless o!

If so, no advantage to get ECA for BSc. Just wait for the M.Sc.
olujastro:

I used my naija BSc to calculate 438 and I have yet to do ECA. I'm in Europe now. Supposed to be done with my 2 year masters in June this year but I extended by 1yr for personal reasons. So till 2019.

Yeah I saw that too but the OP didn't say if his/her Ielts has been topped. Reading score improvement from 8 to 9 can take the OP above crs 440.

Also, the last draw was 440. You never know, the points may reduce further this year. All I'm saying is we should all make hay while sun shines.
You're right, lost 3 points to reading so couldn't reach 441. Same reading I had 8.0 in my first attempt in May angry. There was an unusually long final passage on Sept 8 test so I didn't finish it. I have LRSW of 8.5, 7.0, 8.0, 8.0. I don't plan to take ielts again though.

You can add either/both FIRS, LIRS to strengthen your application.

Are tax receipts compulsory? If yes,is it FIRS or LIRS? Hoping to get a response to enable us move forward and prepare all our documents while waiting for ITA. Thank you
