Hi, good to have u here. Came in on a Sunday, went to SS office the next day being Monday, a week later the SS card came. By 2 and half weeks of arriving the GC came.

I went to dmv and i was told to get my social security first.
I then went to social security and i was told it's going to arrive in the mail with my green card since i got here in CR1 visa.
I've been waiting like kilode since then. Can't drive. Can't do nothing.

(Maryland). Did you go to social security office?. It can’t come in with your green card, they are two different agencies. When did you arrive? Did you come with international license? I was driving with my international license till I got my md license last week.

So it seems F2B has gone back to its speedy days . Its officially in 2012 . I think its safe to say the wait time for F2B is 6years


Are there any F2B here? I wanted to know if they are really sending welcome letters upto 2014 for dates for filing

It's great to see u guys are keeping up. I wanted to post the visa bulletin yesterday, but I was glad to see you guys were keeping up to date. I wish everyone all the best. In the long run, it worth the wait. There are so many millions of undocumented immigrants in this country. I mean millions. A lot of Nigerians too. A few chatting with me on Facebook, telling me that I should thank God for my mom every day and keep praying for her. That they wish they had who filed for them to get their papers.
Now I know the wait was really worth it.

My sister it’s worth the wait ohhh. There are so many illegal immigrants in this country , it’s not even funny. Some people can live in this country for decades with no papers.

I try to tell people to wait their turn. Many of our people came here on visiting or student visa and were unable to adjust . I wish they would reform their immigrantion system because it has serious system flaws. It’s been about 30 years since they had a serious immigration reform.

Wait times are now 23years for some categories and that's legal migration. Its this kind of wait that pushes ppl to migrate illegal.

Reform will hurt whichever way it happens but IT MUST BE DONE. The backlog and limbo category for lots of ppl is not humane

Especially for Indians , their own worse. It also time that third world countries start to build their countries , regardless of immigration , America can not house everybody. With the way things are now , a lot of us would like to live back home , we need had basic amenities.

If someone moves to the Us with his/her entire family on a tourist visa. A close relative of the wife/husband files for them:
1. Would they need to come back to Nigeria to pick up their F4 visa OR they would stay back in America and get their papers.

2. Would the process be faster rather than waiting 14years in Nigeria.to finally get a green card.

Pretty 16 and gurus in the house. Kindly assist

No visa will keep him legally in the US in order to adjust status in 14 yrs. May be he would be studying and studying forever.. He has to be here with Buhari or Atiku.

Thats all I can recommend, people should just have their babies here, so that they can get the passport for their children. Whether the children want to live in the U.S or not in the future , it would be easier for them to move around.

Hi guys, it's painful we received a checklist from nvc today. They asked for my Nigerian police certificate fingerprint which I scanned to my petitioner with UAE police certificate, but unfortunately she didn't add it to the documents she sent to nvc. What surprise me was they sent the checklist in just two weeks that we sent the documents.

What you're talking about is Adjustment of Status and you can't do that on F4.
If spouse or parent of citizen then its possible since clearly overstay does not count against them.
There's no way an F4 will not be illegal on a B2 B1 visa and they will refuse that application.

I think anyone on those visas with long wait times over 10years should just see them as retirement plan.
That's if F3, F4 and some other categories are not cancelled sef

That is not true.

A parent of a US citizen who overstays his/her presence in the US will not have his/her illegal status adjusted while remaining in the US.

However, the child of the US parents might be able to have his/her illegal status in the US adjusted for a green card.

However, the child of the US parents might be able to have his/her illegal status in the US adjusted for a green card.

That's what I thought too but a few people on visajourney did some digging with immigration law and voila its actually possible. I'll find the link and post.

Visajourney is a treasure trove I tell you.

US congress stopped that loophole of women going to the US to have their babies and in the process later deciding to overstay thinking that when the child clocks 21years of age the parents can now get their illegal status in the US adjusted by the US citizen child...that's not true.

However, I know a number of family friends who used the tactic of getting their UK citizens born children to kind of adjust their illegal status in the UK. The US immigration does not have that loophole.

F4 can do AOS on an F1 visa or some any other longer visa types or on a legal stay that I don't know of. You can keep on studying...

No he’s not , if you want to come here to live then get immigrant , getting non immigrant visa then coming here to adjust is very tricky . Immigrant visa can be a long process, so you can end up illegal while waiting for your immigrant visa petition to come through.
