Just when I was about to take my seat n write my exam oh na when this lecturer see me come say are you still in this school? I have not seen you since this section, I thought you left. I be like na for 300l I go change school because I d learn to change school. And it's not as if he was taking my set on any lecture that section.

Nigerian lecturers are not that wicked,some are stepping stone to motivate you to achieve a gorgeous goal,beautiful one for that matter... There silly words like...you'll not pass until you give in, gave me moral to aim 90%,not even 70%,so that after reduction of marks,i can ve something to hold on to. Cheers

Lecturers should be humble and stop abusing the power they don't even have. After all it's the students that pay their salary by paying school fees.

My female course mate as an Engineering student came to class late and a GNS lecturer known to be a womanizer was already in class, and the girl catwalk in looking at him smiling, and the lecturer called her up and this was his statement " COME ON GET OUT OF THIS CLASS, WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO IMPRESS? THAT STEVE SLEEPS WITH GIRLS DOESN'T MEAN I SLEEP WITH FLIES" and the girl fell sick and wasn't in school for a week.

Used to roll with some unscrupulous element back in school, always skipping lectures and stuff. I was quite good in logic so I missed this lecturer's test and attendance, meaning I had zero out of thirty marks. Come exam day, digital electronics (logic) was easy pizzy for me, it was no surprise when I was told I was the only one who scored 70 outta 70 and the lecturer wanted to see me.

Sauntered into his office expecting encomiums to be poured on me and the only thing I heard was "young man, why are you wasting your father's money? I can see you never attended my class which is what you must be doing with other courses, the fact that you earned top marks doesn't excuse that. . . I repeat, why are you wasting your father's money?

It was a defining moment for me and come next semester I was sitting in the front and even went on to become best buddies with same lecturer, caught some flak from my friends who thought I sold out but who cares, I became a better person in the end.

During my 3rd year in school, I wore a short knicker to a math class and sat at the back with a friend, the lecturer asked why we sat at the back and asked me to stand up which I did, he later called me into his office and asked for my details which I gave him and he begged that he does not want trouble like am a cultist. Little did I know he will fail me. Cruel people I stay back for a semester which made me up my grade from a third to 2:2. I am glad his failure turn to a blessing because I never thought I will graduate with a 2:2.

It wasn't to me tho'

During my sojourn as a Master's student in the University of Ibadan.

This woman came out and saw us like five guys waiting in the front of her office. She asked me what I wanted? I told her, I want to submit my internship form, she asked me to repeat it three times, I said same thing.

This stupid woman replied me, see your life. And you are a Master's student , she now turned to the undergraduate guys beside me to correct me.

This stupid boy no get chill, he said, I will like to submit my internship form.

I hated this woman this day. I will forever hate her

Giving everyone parallel E in a 3unit course, just so we can sort him with money.For us that didn't have the money to sort him, na our GP suffer am.
More wahala came when he was made my project supervisor, this man played me ,extorted me of the little money l had,went hungry for two months, just for this man to approve a topic for me. yet no way. l cried and pleaded with him that my money has finished, l can't keep up with the tips he demands for,each time l meet him,he refused and automatically banned me from his office.
l went home for Xmas, l fasted even on Xmas day,l prayed to God to remove him as my project supervisor,and when we resumed the next year,he was among the lecturers that were sacked from school.
That was how l overcame him.

My brother, the thing is just vexing me. I currently school abroad, u won’t even notice a difference wen Speaking with a FRD or ur lecturer. Egual respect. The lecturers are bent on helping u reach ur goal, even wen u give up they will email u sotay u will have no choice but to go see them.

...any time they insult or walk me out of their office, I don't take I seriously, cos I know say na fear factor. Me I no send any of dem

After trying to defend a point of mine,backing it up with theories and facts,my I.T.K lecturer told me,"Young man don't be stupid are you trying to teach me".The thing pain me gan!

When I was in school, a lecturer taught us a to a topic on environmental pollution and he made it look like African countries should stop pollution and plant trees and I asked him that since most African countries are not industrialised, use fewer cars than USA on the average, that, it is the industrialised nations that should do more. That all the industrialised nations pay lip service to global warming and how to reduce it (most of them use fossil fuel to power their industries) He was angry and insulted me.

Most Nigeria lecturers don't follow trends in their fields, so they can be caught napping by a hardworking student. Unlike a foreign lecturer, instead to get back to you on a question you asked that they do not know, they feel threatened and will insult you. Woe betides any student that writes anything outside what is written on his or her book.
