Here's an update on the passenger bus that veered off a flooded bridge and plunged into a river in Rivers state. The incident happened on Tuesday, October 16, along (Akala Olu) Okogbe-Mbiama axis, East-West road of Ahoada West local government area of the state.

Report has it that some corpses have been recovered from the river yesterday and identified by their relatives. 

The recovered victims are Wasini Patience and Nnena Achegbu.

The corpses have been deposited in a mortuary.

Other items found in the river:
- Vehicle head lamp
-Female hand bands with one phone inside.

The Items were handed over to Road Safety Personnel of Akinima unit command who were present at the scene.

The rescue mission is still ongoing.

What a tragedy, such a horrible way to die.

I am really pained seeing this images cos I often use that road.

Driver was probably trying to overtake another vehicle, while an incoming truck was eminent so in order to avert a head collision which of course will be a much more greater loss of lives, the drive had to plunge into the river. It wouldn't have resulted to this if it was dry season. They died cos of the shock and they couldn't swim. The water level is pretty high.
