Concerning that writing project on numismatics he won on Upwork, he contacted me a few days ago, saying that the writer he first gave the task to did it shoddily.

Our agreement was that he would pay first since I'm familiar with his ill reputation here as a bilker. After asking for my account number and finalizing our arrangement, he never fulfilled his end of the bargain.

There are many clients like him on Freelancer and similar platforms — Indians, Pakistanis — who are fraudulent. Not all clients are honest and working for such people doesn't make anyone stupid, once a milestone has been set or a similar arrangement made.

The freelancing world is not for the stupid or for the lily-livered, who can't take calculated risk.
