Fabregas was so good at benching Alonso that he(Fab) had to be to converted to a false nine to accomodate him in the team. Just listen to yourself. Fabregas dey learn work for where Alonso dey!

Same thing at Barcelona. He couldn't displace the midfield trident of Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta. He had to make do with another false nine role and coming off the bench. The only time he did get anything close to regular game time at Barca was under Tata Martino and guess what: Barcelona went trophyless that season

Nobody is disputing Fab's achievements over the years but you saying he is still world class based on what he has done before is just nonsense. Fabregas WAS world-class, he no longer is. He's still a good player though. One of my favorite midfielders in the PL.

There is a reason why luis aragones trusted fabregas to start ahead of xabi alonzo in the biggest game of his career.There is also a reason why fabregas made the team of the Tournament and xabi alonzo didn't .Not until xabi alonzo acrimonious move to real madrid fabregas usually enjoyed some of game time than the former Liverpool man .


Now alonzo is better than fabregas ignoring the stats .well I believe since am not a stat junkie like raumdeuter. I can do simple eye test but please try to call your fellow bayern Munich fans up when they hide under stats to berate hazard.
