Exactly. The miui on Xiaomi doesn't even come with bloatwares compared to Samsung phones. Removal of bloatwares are the major reason for rooting phones back then toniotonero: |

macbeyland: This is why I've always maintained that all these tweaks, mods are mainly unnecessary, especially when noobs are made to feel they're missing out on something & encouraged to tamper with their devices. These devices already come fine-tuned to their optimal capabilities and therefore are best used on default mode. If you so much want a flawless photo then go get a DSLR camera. 1 Like |

CuteMaro:Good morning, checked lilclin: Beauty? Yeah right. Gone are the days you can only get the best out of your Android device via root. Current feature packed Android coupled with & present-day hardware capabilities of phones now make rooting totally unnecessary. This thinking of yours is probably why iPhone users think Android devices are less powerful. 5 Likes |

lilclin:By the way, How will I uninstall some of apps I don't want. Like my Atmos Dolby is force stopping. Only viper4android working. I can't see how to uninstall with magisk. About rooting, novice should not be too eager to do that. Personally, despite I am an average techy, I still ask alot of questions severally and watched a lot of YouTube videos before I rooted. I even watched how to unbrick Incase anything goes wrong. I downloaded those videos and watch them over and over again and here and was disturbing many of you here when I wanted to. That was what helped me during my rooting because I eventually bricked my phone but I have standby solutions and it worked without even asking anybody. And it came up. That's the problem with many people, less experience but eager to explore without plan B. Rooting is not a crime or necessary but just to explore more. I saw the beauty of it with magisk because I was downloading and installing any useful thing through it. I was able to enable my OEM and volte that was grey out and many more. If I didn't have problem with my volte and OEM , I won't bothered with rooting because I see it as really unnecessary for everaage user like me. |

lilclin: You don't get the point, no one is against rooting. If you know your way around it, fantastic. The problem here is people talk about MIUI and the redmi cameras as being thrash, unusable, poo etc which makes the average person on here immediately wanting to root and do whatever on their phone without considering the risks should they find themselves in tight spots. A separate thread has been created for modding etc. You can't buy a Hyundai i10 and expect it to perform like a Toyota Prado. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

lilclin: The fact that people are asking for help on how to tweak on nairaland of all places alone is enough reason for me to believe they are better off not tampering with anything. My days of tweaking may be over but even then, i wasn't advising every tom, dick and harry to root knowing that there was even a 10% chance of bricking their phone. I'm especially against newbies rooting Xiaomi phones coz service centers are not even here and the local phone repairers aren't very familiar with it. 8 Likes |

fibonacci2526: I wonder. Me I have Kukuma talked my own. I will only discuss issue of replacement or refund when customer gets a defective phone. I have began asking my customers to at the point of receiving, examine phones sent to them very well before signing for them, if possible do a video. That way, they can get a proof to counter my own video evidence of packaging. Exactly the same buyer protection clause which Aliexpress gives. |

Exactly. In the beginning, most OEM go with their own android flavor thereby over bloating the devices with unnecessary apps. These days, OEMs even prefer less bloatwares and are in favor of matching the stock android OS itself. Mind you, Google is now arching towards implementing a layered architecture for Android which will enable all devices receive Android OS updates continually irrespective of version without affecting the OEMs' internals. Rooting to me is no longer necessary. 2kurupt: 3 Likes |

Gptech: Coming from someone that has a DSLR camera and a photography knowledge, I would say phone cameras are what it, and you actually pay for what you get. However, what google did with gcam, I would say it's unbelievable. I would never have imagined software could make so much difference. I'm sure I would have argued with anyone about this in the past. But gcam has humbled me. Now I can know the limits imposed by hardware can be broken at an exponential level based on software in some cases. You would not believe me, some shots with gcam viewed on a small screen can be comparable to shots on DSLR viewed on the same small screen. Recently someone with an iPhone x had to beg me to transfer the pictures I took with gcam on a dirt cheap Samsung a5 2017 as the pictures I took with gcam was way better than the ones he took with his iPhone x. For most Samsung phones however, camera2api is enabled by default, so no rooting or flashing is needed to install gcam Will I advice newbies to root because of gcam? No. Does gcam make a difference in mobile photography? Yes, a big one! Ultimately, everyone is responsible for their decisions with respect you their phones and the corresponding outcome of the decisions assuming we are all above 18.so if you like use your phone the way it is, if you like install anything you let, it's your phone. But dont come crying when you brick am or blame seller as this is so wrong 16 Likes 2 Shares |
