Good morning justwise ... I've been following your posts for over 2 years now. Wehdone sir.

I got admission in university of Wolverhampton (MSc). The School fees is £12700. Will it be ok if I pay £5000 before applying for visa? My school said minimum of £3000.
However, one agent told me I ought to pay half the fees or more else the embassy will deny me visa.

Please help. Thanks

That agent is talking nonsense, you can pay anything from that £3000 to the whole £12700 and still get a visa if you met all other requirements

Paying £3000 or £5000 is not part of the requirements to get a visa. Since your school asked that you should pay £3000, then pay £3000 and apply for your visa, making sure all the "Home Office required requirement" is provided

Thanks.

My friend paid £1000 before application and has not only left but has since started school.

Hi guys. My husband is not moving with me for my masters program but he will visit occasionally. Should he get a dependent visa or a visitors' visa? In other words, is it okay for him to get a dependent visa but not stay back in the UK?

Hi guys, please I’d like to clarify if sworn affidavit would suffice in place of a lost birth certificate for a sponsored student. If not, is there any work around??

Good day people, hope your day is going well? please i have an urgent question to ask - as i have scrolled through and not really seen an answer.

here goes:

Someone currently holds a tier 4 visa and has successfully enrolled. now she plans to bring in her dependents(two being her children) . she is no longer with the father of her children and when she filled her visa application form at the time- she filled 'married' because she has a spouse.

This spouse and herself were in the process of legalizing their relationship as at that time..

Problem is, she does not want this spouse to come anymore for personal reasons and insists on still bringing in her children.

I know the rule states unless you have proof of sole responsibility (ie from the high court, etc) or a single mum, both parents must apply. She doesn't want her spouse to come anymore, what can you(the gurus in the house) advise?

i would appreciate

You don't need your birth certificate for a UK visa. Your passport is okay for that. You'd only need a birth certificate if you're also applying with your (a) child as evidence of a parental relationship or consent (consent letter + Passport go hand in hand for kids not yours or in a shared custody arrrangement etc).
PS: An affidavit works in cases where it's impossible to provide the birth certificate.

Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by mimilyrics: 7:34am On Oct 20, 2018
That's because there's no easy answer to this. You'd have to provide a divorce certificate that proves that your marriage has been dissolved or a court order on the children's custody otherwise, you might be seen as trying to con the UK visa system.

That was probably the school requirement. Some Schools require deposits of £1,000 to £3000-4000 before processing CAS while the balance can be paid anytime from when the visa is issued up till the school's deadline for payment.

@Mimilyrics. Exactly, the school requirement only demanded a deposit of 1000.

No ma. I have a legal sponsor who is my Aunt
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by mimilyrics: 1:47pm On Oct 20, 2018
Your aunt cannot sponsor you. Only your parent, legal guardians (with court documents to prove), a UK school, your home Government, International company, International organization or the UK government can sponsor you.
You'd be better off if she transfers the money to your acct.

Thank you for your response sir. My Aunt want to ask act as my legal guardoan and we have obtained a court affidavit to back it up as my legal guardian. She has also written a letter to give me permission to her fund during my period of studies.

From my own experience, I am on tier 2 work visa and my partner applied for dependant visa, even though there was no plan for him to move permanently to UK, because he has a business to run in Nigeria.
If you plan to study in the UK for a long period (>1 year), then I would advice going for the dependant visa, he will be given permit to enter and leave UK as he wishes and it will have the same validity as your tier 4 visa.

Did she just conveniently become your guardian weeks or months to your application when you've obviously gone over the age limit required for guardianship or adoption? Or was this document obtained while you were within the age limit required?
The UKVI can spot a document that was generated for the sole purpose of bypassing the rules and it wouldn't be nice to get a refusal and a ban due to misrepresentation.

@mimilyrics

I’m a little bit confused on the parent sponsorship thing. According to the visa guide, if an applicant is being sponsored by his or her parents, a birth certificate showing proof of relationship should be presented.

What happens if the parent doesn’t have birth certificate but age declaration affidavit from a high court?? Will it that suffice? Or the parent should also get attestarion from NPC.

Please help and clarify biko

An affidavit is good. You can include an attestation too.
A brief explanation in the additional information section providing information on the circumstances on the non availability of your birth certificate will be good too.

Welcome to Glasgow, got in September 18,hope you have enjoyed the weather so far
Canticle:
Just a little info to help prospective Tier 4 visa holders - At the point of entry( I flew in to Glasgow last week), I was asked by a border official if I have got any evidence - he specifically mentioned CAS - to show that I was going to the University of Strathclyde. No, I didn't have my CAS printed out, ever since I learnt that the most important thing in a CAS statement is the number( My school, during registration, also asked me of my CAS. I gave the number, with the excuse that I am totally committed to a paperless existence cheesy).

So at the border, I instead showed my BRP collection paper, and all the while, the official was calm and courteous , and even told me to calm myself down when, in my haste to produce my documents, some fell out.

So I will advice two things in general: Have ALL your documents handy at all times; and be confident in your belief that, you being a genuine student, no border official will deny you entry, so long as you have the most basic of evidence such as your visa and international passport.

Shalom.

Many thanks. The weather has been crazy, but I'm braving it all the same... What university are you studying in?

Modified:

Just noticed that I have asked about your school previously. University of West of Scotland. Nice... Which part of Glasgow is it? I'm yet to explore this city that is as large as Lagos! Whew!

Further modfied:

Sent you a pm. Don't know if it delivered. Could you confirm receipt or perhaps send me One? Cheers!

Hi guys, I would like to have a better understanding of the 28days rule for the balance of tuition and maintenance, like in my case, I paid for my visa application 21st of October but my biometrics and interview isn't until 8th November, do I have to show my bank statement up until 7th November or it has to be 21st October which is the date I made the visa payment. Thanks.

It doesn't matter when your biometrics and interview appointment is, the tuition fee and maintenance costs in your acct must have clocked 28days before you submitted your application and make payment online. So you have to show a 28 day statement for 28 days prior to your submission because the ECO will only count 28 days backward from your online submission date.
