Hmmm. The legalization of marijuana is going to set Albertan taxpayers back CAD$90million over the next 2 years. https://edmontonjournal.com/news/politics/finance-minister-reacts-to-city-anger-over-cannabis-funding Trust government inefficiency to ruin what should have been a lucrative venture. 2 Likes |

cochtrane: Thank you. Perhaps I can fly out and come in through the land border by Bus. Please landed seniors what is the weather like at this time of the year. Will I be needing thermal wears and all by now or will I be able to dress normal I plan to land later this month. |

ibnhasan: At this time, you most certainly won't be able to wear nornal clothings pretry much anywhere in Canada. It may not be too cold in some places for thermal wears to be necessary. But you'll probably need some sweaters and jackets. Where are you planning to land though? 2 Likes |

Seniors please i need advice, I plan soft landing in dec to spend about 7weeks. Family of 6 which include a 5months old and a 2 yrs old. I am looking at getting a double stroller from here(i got a fair deal) to use for the 2 youngest kids. but I was thinking since its winter, will I really be needing it? How is movement with kids in winter? I am really indecisive as I dont want to waste money on something if it wont be useful. 1 Like |

So I have been touring Montreal for a week now, more of wandering than touring actually. Been fun, it wasnt until that I got lost with no help in sight. my phone ran out of battery and left me without google maps, a price for taking too many photos I guess. So I think I should share the photos I took to make the over 2hrs I spent trying to find my way home count for something. 33 Likes

Hi guys, I would be landing third week of November in Toronto and I have a couple of questions/concerns. 1. I intend to go with USD 5000 cash and have the bank statement showing the remaining POF in naira. Would that suffice? 2. As regards accommodation, I've been searching for a room in a shared apartment in the GTA (North York, Etobicoke, Scarborough and Mississauga) on a couple of sites now and I haven't been able to come up with something tangible. The ones I've seen are up for rent immediately and might not be available then. Does anyone here know of any available rooms in those areas or know someone who does? Budget is $650 3. What is the best/cheapest phone plan to use in Toronto? 4. For banks, which is the most immigrant friendly. I apologise if they've been answered before but I've not been able to go through the thread in it's entirety. |

Kmgb:I am yet to meet many people that have stayed in Windsor. It is in the far South West of Ontario bordering the US. It is far from Toronto and the GTA. There are not many jobs there and it's impossible to commute daily to Toronto. The city is best known for it's Automotive industry and Tourism. It all depends on what your reasons are, it could be a nice place to stay 2 Likes 1 Share |

Is it possible to get a job pre landing for a PR. I am into IT, And System Security(NOC2281), and will like a quidiance on what to do to secure a job or get interviews before landing. Just got PPR and planning next year landing(App/May). However, if offers come up, willing to do the landing asap. 1 Like |

TheVermont: 1. That suffices 2. I would advise you get an Airbnb's room. You can then start searching for a permanent place. 3. Luckymobile, Freedom mobile, Chatr seems to be the budget lines. 3. All of them are good. RBC, CIBC, Scotiabank, TD. |

jergins:I.T roles are majorly dependent on experience. I would advise you check out job sites to see what a typical requirements for the role are. In many cases, there's always a skill deficiency to address. It's competitive out here. The odds of you getting a job from Nigeria is slim. Most companies love to hire someone on ground. Best wishes 1 Like |

ibnhasan: You can get a full bedroom apartment(living room + bedroom + toilet & bath + kitchen) for about 580 to 620 cad per month (including utilities, except Power).. Metro card cost 85cad per month, gives you unlimited access to both bus and subway for the month. I dont know the exact cost of car insurance, I dont drive, but I do know it's about the lowest in Canada. 1 Like |
