The Arewa Youth Integrity Forum (AYIF) has frowned at the alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode with leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. The youth group vowed to stop Atiku because his romance with Fani-Kayode and the pro-Biafra group leader would destabilize Nigeria.

Recall that Kanu, who went missing since September following the invasion of his house by troops of the Operation Python Dance, was spotted in Jerusalem, Israel praying at the Wailing Wall last week. Kanu is billed to address his supporters today.

Few minutes after his reappearance, Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the PDP took to his Twitter handle to announce that he spoke with Kanu and he had agreed to work with the PDP to oust President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

Reacting to the development, Adamu Adamu, the National President of AYIF, said Atiku would lose the support of northern youths if he failed to distance himself from the union.

Adamu wondered why Atiku, who is eyeing the nation’s number one seat could get the support of an outlawed orgnisation like IPOB or its leader who has been declared wanted by the Nigerian security operatives.

According to him, “AYIF has followed with concerns the reappearance of the wanted leader of the terrorist Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu and the invitation to anarchy by one of those standing trial for corruption, Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK), who disclosed that Kanu has agreed to work for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming elections.

“We find it odd that Fani-Kayod, who had alleged a military abduction and assassination of Nnamdi Kanu did not deem it proper to apologise to Nigerians for his lies but simply pretended as if he never made such outlandish claims and switched to talking political alliance.

“His lies about the “Hausa/Fulani imperialists” killing Kanu had placed the lives of persons of these ethnicities at risk while also pushing the entire country to the edge of a meltdown. His lack of remorse shows that it is something he will attempt again in no distant time.

“AYIF further reminds Nigerians that prior to jumping bail, Kanu, with his followers, had consistently referred to Nigeria as a zoo and the citizens as animals that do not deserve to live.

His inflammatory provocations got to a point where Nigerians were angered to a point of issuing quit notices against each other along ethnic lines even as Kanu’s IPOB continued to call for the disintegration of the country.

“It, therefore, borders on insanity for the same Kanu to reappear today and be declaring to be part of the nation’s political process without first renouncing his separatist stance and demand for violence against Hausa/Fulani.

“The hatred of the two men against Hausa/Fulani remains evident from the comments of their followers on online platforms and there is no proof they have tried to call their radicalized followers to order.

“The alliance they are talking about is nothing but trying to create a publicly acceptable platform for their hate mongering. They have nothing good to offer Nigerians.

“Ordinarily, the alliance between the duo do not bother us in the least since the leading candidates in the race for presidency are from the north; but we find it repulsive that men who have not properly proven themselves as being free of mental illness are jostling to take leading role in how Nigerians decide.

“One of them is standing trial for treason and the other is on trial for capital corruption so they have the incentives to deliberately cause provocations that will destroy the country and ensure that Nigeria no longer exists as a country to conclude their trial.

“We, therefore, warn the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar that he risks losing the support of Arewa if he associates his campaign with Femi Fani-Kayode and Nnamdi Kanu, who have both repeatedly declared their disdain and hatred for Nigerians from the northern parts of the country.

“We find it abominable that Fani-Kayod, who sees Arewa as a plague and Kanu that sees us as animals can today be attempting to hitch a ride on Atiku Abubakar’s PDP ticket when they still hold steadfastly to their genocidal views against Hausa/Fulani. If they successfully hitch the ride they seek then we will rather mobilize for the person the PDP is seeking to unseat.

“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the PDP must immediately formally distance themselves from FFK and Kanu failing which AYIF will be compelled to mobilize other Arewa youth groups to express their displeasure with the PDP. The dissociation from this duo include restricting them from making any statement whatsoever on behalf of Alhaji Abubakar or the PDP presidential campaign. We do not envisage that the party has anything to lose because four years ago when Fani-Kayode was serving as PDP Chief media strategist his only strategy was to alleged that the then candidate Muhammadu Buhari will die but not only did he win the election but has remained
alive.”

Meanwhile, Uche Mefor, the Deputy Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has countered Fani-Kayode that that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu agreed to work against President Muhammadu Buhari’s reelection.

No real youth won't support Atiku in 2019.

But I don't blame the Arewa Youths because the secretary of the real Arewa Consultative Youths forum, Alhaji Ahmed Sule is in his 70s.
So even when I don't expect a pensioner to talk or think like a youth, I don't expect this impostor almajiri group to even think at all.
Atiku is the way forward.

There will be a few disgruntled folks, even IPOB isn't in support of an Atiku presidency because Atiku is also Fulani.
They also have made a few salient points on why a Fulani Presidency isn't something to be excited about but IPOB must know that Atiku is the better demon.

It is a lose-lose situation if Buhari continues ruining the nation.

So first things first;
We vote out Buhari,
And vote in Atiku,
Atiku restructures Nigeria
And a referendum will hold.

That is the modus operandi if there must be any peaceful disintegration.

While the BMC have championed the spread of unsavoury stories about their biggest threat Atiku.

Part of the demands is that the government labels the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB as a terrorist organization and the immediate arrest of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu as well as the conduct of a referendum to allow the Igbos have their “Republic of Biafra”. However, in a statement issued Friday in Geneva, three UN experts urged the federal government to also take immediate steps to arrest those behind a song that seeks to disparage the Igbos.

The experts are Mr. Mutuma Ruteere, Special Rapporteur on Contemporary forms of Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and related Intolerance; Mr. Fernand de Varennes, Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues, and Ms. Anastasia Crickley, Chairperson of the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

“We are gravely concerned about this proliferation of hate messages and incitement to violence against the Igbo and their property, especially considering the previous history of such violence,” the experts said.

“The Government must be vigilant, as hate speech and incitement can endanger social cohesion and threaten peace by deepening the existing tensions between Nigeria’s ethnic communities.

” The ultimatum was issued on June 6 during a press briefing by the coalition. It had asked the Igbos to vacate the region on or before October 1. However, “mindful of the concerns generated by the clause in the Kaduna declaration that advised the Biafran Igbo to relocate from northern Nigeria and for northerners in the South East to do likewise, and our commitment to the unity of our dear country…and as a consequence of these vigorous engagements and as cultured people with a tradition of respect for our national values, leaders and elders, we are today pleased to announce the immediate suspension of the relocation clause otherwise referred to as the quit notice from the Kaduna Declaration”, the CNG had said in a speech read by its spokesman, Abdulaziz Suleiman on Thursday.

But the human rights experts noted that some local and national figures, as well as some media representatives, had publicly denounced any form of hate speech and incitement, but said other officials still needed to follow suit.

“We are deeply concerned that some prominent local leaders and elders have not condemned the ultimatum, hate speech and the perpetrators,” the experts stressed.

“We call on the Government, media and civil society representatives, and local and religious leaders, to reject and condemn hate speech and incitement to violence unequivocally and in the strongest possible terms.

” The UN experts said any incidents of hate speech and incitement to violence had to be investigated and the perpetrators prosecuted and punished. “This includes the people behind the ultimatum and those responsible for the creation, publication and circulation of the hate song and audio message,” they added.

Quit Notice withdrawal, not Enough -Atiku

On his part, former Vice President and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC, Atiku Abubakar has commended the Coalition of Northern Groups for rescinding the quit notice, but said the group must drop all its other demands if reconciliation must be total.

The former Vice President said in a statement by his media office in Abuja on August 25, 2017 that “at last, good judgment has prevailed.

” He however appealed to the Coalition of Northern Groups to go the whole hog and drop any other condition given to people of Igbo origin living in Northern Nigeria or anywhere else in the nation. “Reconciliation must be total or else it is pyrrhic”, Atiku said.

In the spirit of this rapprochement, the Waziri Adamawa also calls on other ethnic groupings that might have issued counter quit notices to accept this olive branch and rescind whatever notices or withdraw whatever statements they may have made.

The former Vice President also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his national broadcast condemning such developments and urged other elders and elder-statesmen around the nation to likewise add their voices to the condemnation of evil and henceforth refrain from making statements that undermine Nigeria’s unity.

We can’t arrest Arewa Youths -FG

However, the Federal Government has explained why it cannot arrest members of the coalition, saying the group had already stated that they were misquoted by the media (not Saturday Vanguard).

According to the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau; “The group that called themselves coalition of Arewa Associations that held a press conference in Kaduna where they gave October 1 ultimatum to the Igbos to quit the north as a response to what they termed as issue of separatist agenda of the IPOB and claim that there are lots of incitement from the Igbos against the northerners to which the Kaduna State governor responded that they should be arrested for what they reported.

“Of course they later claimed that the media quoted them out of context. I am very much aware that the DSS invited all of them, held a meeting with them to which they made a statement to the effect that what was reported in the media was not what they said.

“They further wrote to the acting President indicating that they did not make inciting statement as to the issue of violence or forceful ejection of the Igbos in the north. However, it was on the basis of that, the northern elders called them to also reaffirm from them that what was reported is not exactly what they meant”.

Majority of the comments above me have ended up deviating and haven't stopped to read the statement or have consciously chosen to be ignorant.

How can FFK (one of the PDP chieftains) claim Kanu was abducted and assassinated by the military and later claim to have contacted this same Kanu after he reappeared in Jerusalem.

In summary, they feel FFK is a bloody liar and instead of apologizing, he ends up devising more lies regardless of how inflammatory, tribalistic, nauseating and disgraceful the lie is.

The new story he is telling us is that an outlawed Kanu, who has called Nigeria a zoo and some igbos pigs is supporting Atiku in 2019.

Even the IPOB group who have been consistently behind FFK through his deception are now in a conundrum concerning this one.

He has left many confused as whether to Atikulate or be apathetic.

Many have been malign the character of Kanu: some say he is working for the APC; others say he is a facade and a fraud who has been bribed and sponsored.

Many say he is a coward.
