Hope he won't be another Osunbade that will just be a common errand runner? Trust me if SW didn't have minister of finance, minister for works and housing and couple others osinbajo wouldn't have stopped north from relegating Tinubu and sw in the scheme of things. We shouldn't have a osinbade representing us, just in case we don't land our preferred parastatals such as transport, he may be of strong influence in drawing us our needed infrastructure (Niger bridge, AIIA, Rail tracks, FG roads). |

Funnicator is making real valid points. As an Igbo man, I have always viewed the rise of Wike, as a big threat to Ndiigbo. He's an Ikwerre through through, and they naturally habour Igbo resentment and need to be Igbophobic, to prove to other Nigerians that they are not Biafrans. I now understand what the SE governors forum were fighting for. Their fight was not misplaced. It's risky that we throw our support for Atiku without any form of commitment and agreement. Wike has the money, but we have the numbers. Atiku have money too, so I know that numbers would rank high in his list of priorities. We must desist from blindly throwing our support for candidates with no concrete commitment extracted from them. SE governors are to be blamed for the misunderstanding. Why are they not being open to the Igbo populace? Or atleast leak the information of what they are fighting for, to news agencies through anonymous sources and then refuse to comment on them when asked to confirm or denounce the news? Having just a VP in Atiku government is not good enough. We need more. Especially the strategic minister of Transport. We need it, it's a must, so that we can correct the railway project injustice and the AIIA injustice of Buhari government, sanctioned by Amaechi. We can't allow another Ikwerre man in Wike, hijack that ministry again. Enugu-Onitsha express road and Aba-Enugu express roads are very important too. We just can't be Atikulating for nothing. Yes, agreements can be reneged on, but the worst will be not to have any agreement at all. If Atiku ascends, he would still need our votes for second tenure, so he will honour our pre agreed demands to keep us. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Obi is a man who is adept at escaping from controlling grasp of manipulating political godfathers. If Wike is picking Obi because he intends to control him in the future, then he picked the wrong man. Infact, Obi is the best man for the VP for Ndiigbo. He's a man of his own and will do what is right for our people. But the power of a VP under an active and healthy young president, as we saw in Sambo /GEJ, is limited. SE governors must extract more juicy appointments and commitments from Atiku, before finally endorsing and campaigning for him. I would prefer Ohanaeze Ndiigbo stay off politics. They should receive Buhari and Atiku, and promise both of them help, as well as promise to work with them when they win. 4 Likes 1 Share |

From Kemi Yesufu, Abuja There seems to be no end in sight for cry about the neglect of the South-East geo-political zone by the President Muhammadu Buhari led federal government as it has emerged that the region received the lowest allocation for developmental projects. According to details of the capital allocations for states as contained in a report of National Assembly Budget and Research Office (NABRO) seen by Daily Sun, the sum of N28.22 billion was appropriated for capital projects for the five States in the region. A breakdown shows that , Abia State got N6.93 billion (24.55 percent); Anambra State got N3.02 billion (10.20 percent); Ebonyi state got N4.63 billion (16.41 percent); Enugu State got N10.15 billion (35.98 percent) while Imo State got N3.49 billion (12.36 percent). According to the document, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is the single highest beneficiary of allocations for capital projects with the sum of N209 billion (76.99 percent). For other states in the North Central region ; Nasarawa State received N14.75 billion (5.43 percent); Kwara State- N5.19%); Niger State recieved N12.59 billion (4.63 percent); Plateau State got N6.63 billion (2.44 percent); Benue got N7.46 billion (2.75 percent) while Kogi State got N7.25 billion (2.67 percent). http://sunnewsonline.com/2016-budget-south-east-gets-lowest-allocation-for-capital-projects/ 2 Likes |

Also President Buhari’s North-West region got a generous allocation for projects in the 2016 Appropriations Bill with capital allocation worth N73.7 billion for the implementation of 802 projects across the seven States in the zone. For the implementation of ongoing and new projects in the seven states in the region, Kano State got N32.14 billion (43.61 percent) for 166 projects; Kaduna State got N19.82 billion (26.99 percent) for 292 projects while Katsina State got N9.52 billion (12.92 percent). Also the sum of N3.56 billion (4.84 percent) goes to Jigawa State; N3.15 billion (4.28 percent) goes to Kebbi State; N2.53 billion for execution of 61 projects was allocated to Zamfara State while N2.97 billion (4.04 percent) went to Sokoto State. From the total sum of N48.97 billion for the South West region, Lagos State got the highest share allocation of N16.14 billion (32.95 percent); Oyo State got N12.28 billion (25.08 percent); Ogun State got N7.95 billion (16.23 percent); Osun State got N6.52 billion (13.30 percent); Ondo state got N3.77 billion (7.70 percent) while Ekiti State got N2.32 billion (4.7 pecent) of the capital allocation for this year. On the part of the North East geopolitical zone of N46.69 billion for the execution of 454 ongoing and new projects, Gombe State got N9.70 billion (21 percent); Taraba state got N9.23 percent); Bauchi State got N9.23 billion (20 percent); Yobe State got N6.99 billion (15 percent); Adamawa state got N5.98 billion (13 percent) while Borno State got N5.98 billion (12 percent). 1 Like |

The six South South states also got N35.31 billion for execution of 474 projects out of which 30 are ongoing projects, 438 are new projects while six are unidentified. The breakdown indicates that: Cross River state got N10.75 billion (30.46 percent); Delta State got N7.55 billion (21.38 percent); Akwa Ibom State got N1.92 billion (5.45 percent); Bayelsa State got N3.21 billion (9.08 percent); River state got N7.29 billion (20.66 percent) while Edo State got N4.58 billion (12.98 percent) of the total capital allocation. 1 Like |

Let's speak with one voice. Avoid replying any imposter. Enugu is capital of Igbo land. Ebonyi state has done well in infrastructure. Anambra has recently represented Igbo land well economically. Abia has put Igbo land as the major producer and distributor of manufactured goods used throughout Nigeria. My own Imo has set a pace for education and dignity by potraying Igbo land as the best academics in Nigeria. Anioma has represented Igbo land well in human development and dignity. Obigbo has shown a spirit of united Igbo from ages by sticking to their original identity and not to Oyigbo. So my brothers we can get it right again this time. From Engr Chavens . 2 Likes 1 Share |

To break it down: NE- 46.69billion NW- 73.7billion NC including Abuja - 209billion SW- 48.97billion SS- 35.31billion SE-28.22billion. Things to note : SE got the least allocation for FG development projects, despite being the region with least FG projects presence. Only Kano State, got more Allocation for FG development projects than the entire 5 SE states combined, Kano received 32.14billion, as against 28.22billion by the combined 5 SE states. SE states breakdown. Enugu - 10.15billion Abia- 6.93billion Ebonyi - 4.63billion Imo- 3.49billion Anambra - 3.02billion. Things to note here. 1. Anambra got the least allocation in SE, Enugu got the most allocation. It speaks volumes of how much little power and Influence that Rochas enjoys in APC FG government, that Imo got so little allocation for development projects, this is a food for thought for those who think Rochas stands any chance of becoming APC presidential candidate at any point in time. 3 Likes 1 Share |

My happiness is that despite the marginalization of Southeast states. Southeast develop faster both economically, education, human resources, structure, and even security wise more than the so called NW, SW, NE and Co. |

Also, despite SW support for Buhari, their share of allocation for development projects isn't that high, considering that their region hosts Lagos, the Nigerian commercial capital. Kano got almost times 2 of Lagos allocation. You can imagine. 1 Like |

The South East Governors’ Forum (SEGF) has flayed the Federal Government for poor and sectional implementation of capital projects in 2017 Appropriation Act. The governors noted that the unfortunate aspect of the 2017 federal capital budget implementation thrust was the inequitable nature of the focal sectors that should drive the achievement of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) in the zone. They also stated that budget implementation based on mere sentiments was bound to fail because it will not lead the country to its destination. These were contained in a monitoring report of the implementation of the capital budget across the South East geopolitical zone for 2017 approved budget of the Federal Government presented by “Voice to the People,” a programme sponsored by UKaid in partnership with SEGF and the Institute for Development Studies (IDS), University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, among others. According to the report, they monitored the projects in communities in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states under the 2017 budget through citizens’ support, in line with the best practices on public finance, which Open Governance Partnership (OGP) promotes. It said: “The findings reveal a less than 50 percent budget implementation. One hundred and fifty projects were monitored. Findings show that 30.52 per cent were completed and put in use; 15.24 per cent are completed but not in use, 24.13 per cent are ongoing and have achieved 50 per cent completion, 11.73 per cent are ongoing, but below 50 per cent completion, while 0.91 per cent are poorly executed and failed.” Opening the workshop, Ebonyi State Governor and Chairman of SEGF, Chief David Umahi, said the governors were committed to the development of the region. Represented by Accountant General of the state, Mrs. Queen Agwu, the governor explained that the forum, aside serving as platform for peer review, also encouraged regional cooperation.
