ICES is as valid as WES for IRCC. The only exceptions to WES, ICES and other bodies are Medical and Pharmacist professions.
For employment or professional bodies, some organisations may require ECA. That is different.
Jasmine17:
Just saw this on Canada website. From the search options below it, it seems most of the regulators prefer WES. Please check for your anticipated regulator before jumping to ICES blindly.

"Choosing a designated organization based on your occupation
If you plan to work for a large employer or in a regulated occupation, you may need to have your assessment done by a specific designated organization. Check with your employer or the regulatory body for your occupation for more information."

We are in this together. I applied sometimes in August and nothing productive since then. However, I got to know the issue behind the delay. Aside the payment made on the transcript website, have you paid at your department?

If you don't pay at your department, you can wait till eternity, LAUTECH will not release your transcript, in fact they won't attend to your transcript application in your department.

You can contact me, let's fight this together.

Pls I need a way out of this stagnation, if you can help. Abeg!

Is it a Diploma or a degree? Can you get transcripts for the qualification?
If not, no.

Please can somebody help here. We need to ascertain this answer. Do ICT certificate qualify for professional certification?

Notarization: Lawyer, big money.
Affidavit: Court, commissioner of oaths, cheap.
Both accepted for Canada EE.
FaskRolce:

Must it be notarized? What of stamp and signature of commissioner of oaths? Or the latter is not accepted?

ICES.
Hopefully you will get a good result in your IELTS. If so as @Ifeoma77 advised, you as PA.

Thanks Arc
I am 33, Hubby is 36. Work experience is over 7years. He plans to write IELTS and TES for French language evaluation if he is the P. A.
.But I find that if I am the P. A, he will only need to write IELTS.
So giving these variables, what do you advise?
Also, I am considering ICES instead of WES and IQAS?
What do you advise?

Oga read my post well again. It's not talking about IRCC undecided

It's talking about future professional and educational needs. You dont want to start chasing WES transcripts when you have already settled in Canada with your ICES ECA just because you want to register with APEGA.
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by FaskRolce: 7:28pm On Oct 21, 2018
Thanks for this. So simplified
fmsimple:
Abridged step-by-step procedure for Canada express entry

Step 1: Take IELTS and attain CLB 9 (viz: band score of 8777 in LRWS)
CLB 9 gives candidates additional language points boost of 50–60 points. If you are able to reach the score of 440+ without CLB 9, that is fine too.
Cost - Approx 70k every time you take IELTS.

Step 2: Get your ECA done (approx 6–8 weeks, could be more)
ECA is Education Credential Assessment. It is done by multiple organisations (WES one of them) and provides you the Canadian equivalent degree assessment of your native country education.
Cost - Depends on the assessor organization.

Step 3: Create EE profile on CIC website with your attained IELTS score and ECA
Making a profile enters you in the pool of candidates waiting for the ITA (Invitation to Apply). Make sure all the information mentioned in the profile is accurate as you will be asked to provide proof of all that information once you are selected.
Cost - 0

Step 4: Wait for the draw to reach your score and receive ITA afterwards
The ROI (Rounds of Invidation) happens every 3–4 weeks. The Canadian govt declares the min cut off score of the EE profile and all the candidates having that score or score more than it will get ITA. The score varies and is tweaked to meet a certain number of applicants quota per ROI.
Cost - 0

Step 5: Post ITA, you get 60 days to submit your documents
After candidate's receive ITA, they are suppose to provide documents and proofs of all the information mentioned in their profile along with few others. The documents/information needed from the candidates are:
Travel Document (Passport) of all applicants
Digital Photograph of all applicants
Proof of Employment of primary applicant
Proof of Funds of primary applicant
Proof of Medical of all applicants
Proof of Education & IELTS of all applicants
Police Clearance Certificate (From all countries where you have resided for 6 months or more) of Pry applicant (and accompanying spouse)
Cost varies as Medical cost, PCC fees, Notarization fees etc varies on location.

Step 6: Submit documents, pay Immigration Fee and wait for the PPR (PassPort Request - For stamping)
After submitting the documents and paying the Immigration fees, the Canadian Immigration officers verifies the documents and information provided. This generally takes 3–6 months (sometimes even more!) depending on the application type, countries a person has resided in and most importantly, the immigration visa office where the application has been sent for processing and how much application backlog is there.
Cost - 300k per adult / 43k CAD per child

Step 7: PPR received. Submit Passport and get Canada CoPR (Confirmation of PR)
Once the documents are verified, candidates are intimated about the result of their application via mail. On successful processing, candidates are required to submit the passports of all the applicants for the Visa Stamping and CoPR. Passport is being sent by VFS Global and the stamped passport are returned to the designated address within 2 weeks along with 2 copies of CoPR.

Step 8: Reach Canada on CoPR and apply for PR card
Applicants are suppose to travel to Canada within the tenure mentioned on the passport. The tenure is generally till the time passport is valid or till medical proof is valid, whichever is earlier. In any case, visa will not be for more than 1 year.
Applicants are suppose to plan their travel, temporary or permanent migration, to Canada within the Visa timelines and submit one copy of CoPR at the time of landing. The other copy is stamped and returned.
Submitting CoPR means that Candidates have successfully landed in Canada and this in turn initiates the PR card application for each applicant.

Step 9: Receive PR card (2–3 months)
Official PR Card processing time is 62–65 days and the PR card will be couriered to the address given by the applicants at the time of their landing. The address has to be a Canadian address.
PR Card will be delivered to the address within 50–80 days. In case you have performed soft landing (temporary migration) just to fulfill the landing formalities before the Visa expires, you can request any friend coming to your Naija to bring along your PR card.
PR cards are not couriered outside Canada and have to be delivered in person in such scenarios.

Step 10: You are Canadian PR. Enjoy!
Once you have your PR card, you are officially a Canadian PR. Have fun!
PR card is provided with validity of 5 years. A person is suppose to live in Canada for 730 days in consecutive 5 years to continue his/her PR card for next 5 years after the expiry.
If a person has stayed in Canada for more than 1095 days in consecutive 5 years, he/she is eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship.

Some Acronyms Frequently Used in this post & during Visa Processing:
CLB - Canadian Language Benchmark
ECA - Education Credential Assessment
EE - Express Entry
ROI - Round of Invitations
ITA - Invitation to Apply
CoPR - Confirmation of Permanent Residency
PPR - Passport Request
PR - Permanent Resident (Residency)

Thanks @ TEECANN

AUTHORITY TO RELEASE PERSONAL INFORMATION TO A DESIGNATED INDIVIDUAL was the only ADR I had. I suspect the reason for this ADR was because I gave my sister in-law who leave in Canada authority to request for information on my application from CIC PRE- ITA, but didn't give her that authority POST-ITA. I guess the Officer wanted to be sure of my position on that.

I didn't take any action on the review required for settlement funds and PCC seen in my 1st GCMS notes. My POF was Fixed deposit and Treasure Bill . I also included 25% of my pension funds to cushion the likely effect of fluctuation in exchange rate.

Regards,

TEECANN:

BTW, we are all learning every day, please can you kindly take time to explain some things to me from your application?

1. What's the meaning of the ADR-(AUTHORITY TO RELEASE PERSONAL INFORMATION TO A DESIGNATED INDIVIDUAL). What scenario brought about the ADR?

2. How did the peek from your 1st GCMS note in respect of (REVIEW REQUIRED FOR SETTLEMENT FUND AND POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE) pan out? -What did you use as POF?
-Did CIC raise any other issue on the POF after the time you saw the comment on your GCMS note?
- Did you make any move (eg CSE etc) to address the "review required" that you saw?

Congrats once again.

God go with your family into your new home and your destinies shall blossom to God's glory IJN!

Fair point. That individual should also consider their target professional bodies.

BTW, does anybody know of other professional bodies apart from APEGA that uses WES? I know PEO does it's own evaluation.

Please can one use only HND for his eveluation?
Also how do I pay for ICES since they dont allow bank transfer and payment via debit card
Yakay:

ICES seems to be the faster option and they will give a positive evaluation, but u have to pay per credential, as in 400CAD for OND and HND, which is still better compared to having to go tru WES verification and WAEC hurdles.

Your profile is quote kool, some people(including me) might kill for such age. While you are processing your ICES, study extremely hard to get maximum points for IELTS, aim 8.5,8,7.5,7.5 in LRWS.

I hope your job is on full time basis? And you can get a detailed reference letter from them?

Lastly, while at that, you can put in for NOUN Pgd. I heard the form is out presently. (its just for contingency).

Hi Dontee07,

Please I need your help with Liz paid complete material. I've written IELTS before and had CLB 6 overall band. I want to improve this time around.

I'll be writing IELTS GT test 01/12/2018.

I'll so much appreciate it if you can email me the materials. tonia.olayinka1@gmail.com

Thanks in advance.

Good morning everyone,

Please which assessing bodies favours MSc. Physiotherapy. I have heard you don't have to evaluate with the physiotherapy body if you have MSc in physiotherapy.

Please who can point me to the right direction.

COPR:

ECA is becoming a big issue with the addition of WAEC/NECO for Nigerian certificates by WES, so it's important to understand the pros and cons of WES, ICES & IQAS.

WES vs ICES vs IQAS

WES evaluates WAEC/NECO before degree certs issued by Nigerian institutions can be evaluated while ICES & IQAS dont require such.

WES verifies your transcript/WAEC/NECO by sending mail or email to your school that sent them the transcript and wait for your school to respond before evaluation is completed while ICES
& IQAS require ONLY your school to send your transcript and no verification is required.

WES requires your school to send your transcript by post/courier while ICES requires your transcript to be sent by post/courier or via official email of your school and IQAS demands for your transcript to be sent by post.

WES charges $200 for all documents submitted plus additional $7 for standard delivery or $85 intl & $25 for local; ICES charges $200 per document and additional $75 for intl delivery or $26 for local; while IQAS charges $200 for all documents submitted plus $15 & $75 for local and intl deliveries respectively.

WES minimum processing time is 20 business days when all documents are recieved and verification email replied; ICES is 10 weeks (some got their ECA report within 4-5 weeks) and IQAS is 12 weeks.

WES & IQAS send soft & hard copies of the evaluated document while ICES sends only hard copy with a charge of $75 for intl delivery & $26 for local.

NOTE

WES favours OND/HND certs & evaluates it as 2 or more certs. It also favours nurses with BSc cert.

WES doesnt favour LLB but favours LLM cert.

IQAS favours both LLB & LLM certs & nurses without BSc.

Thanks for sharing @exceedinglory and congrats once again.

God made everything to work together to end in praise for your family. So happy.

I also have a similar family size as yours. grin

Lastly on my lessons, grin

In submitting your application, did your FD and TB TOTALLY cover for your family size LICO (without considering any amount from the 25% pension)

OR

Was part of your 25% pensions calculated (together with the FD&TB) to make up for LICO amount needed for your family size?

(NB: In my case, 80% of our POF was FD whilst the 20% balance I provided through my 25% pensions)

It will end in praise IJN!

Surely it will be fair to people who play by the rule and do the right thing and not people who make every effort to cheat the system and by so doing make life difficult for other genuine applicants

Why do we actually have this default-dubious mindset about everything we do as Nigerians?

If you don't meet the requirement must you get it fraudulently?

Only about 3 people condemned that post and only one person reported it while more people give excuses for it and you still wonder while Nigeria is so screwed up?

I have actually.

Their response was that they have no clue and it solely depends on their evaluators. Even encouraged me to send it either way and see if it'd be accepted.

Would've tried it out but I don't have such certificate yet.

If someone here has it though they could try sending it along with their uni degree.

So a little update guys...after an excruciatingly long weekend, I’ve finally collected my passport And COpr. Whew!I decided to call their helpline first sha.
FYI, I didn’t fill/submit IMM008 cos I thought it was unnecessary since my family composition didn’t change. However, I wrote a very brief letter to that effect.
Another thing to note, I’m still waiting for PUM and SMS. So in my opinion, that SMS fee is unnecessary. Don’t pay for it. They wouldn’t even tell you about it, you’ll just see it on your receipt. When they bill you tell them you don’t want SMS updates. It’s a little amount but it’s still worth saving, since paying for it is useless... just my opinion sha.
Good luck to everyone still waiting at different stages, it will end in praise!
