It is economically wrong building what you do not need. Why are we building airports when we have not finished using the ones that are already in existence. The imo and enugu airports in the east today are enough for the number of economic activities we have now. If it increases, then we can open new airports in anambra and ebonyi state. We have not been having serious discussions here when things are really going south. Ndigbo should be looking at focusing on important areas of our economies and expand strategically. In telecommunications and ICT today, there are boundless opportunities that we should be looking at. With evolving 5G network all over the world, the chinese are calling all their experts in africa to come back learn the technology so as to continue expanding their influence all over africa and eastern asia. Igbos should stop playing local and hateful politics and focus on the right things that will help us in the future. Even with our high HDI, we do not have the right skillful population to push the agenda of igbos forward but we keep arguing about airports that will still show low patronage in the nearest future with the kind of development we are advertising here. 2 Likes |

We try to breed unity amongst our people but people like you will just jump into threads to pour sand into it.

No sir. These are all independent federating units. It is no longer a regional system where run things that way. Airports are for economically viable states and nothing more. It is built to support businesses and economy generally. So any state can embark on an airport project as its priority to boost its economy. Like the ongoing Anambra airport project is hinged on commercial sale of ATK wired via Orient refinery, huge industrial, commercial and agricultural produce. I read recently about Ebonyi starting on. So eventually all the states will have an airport, but what will happen is that some will not be as busy as others. So let every state continue with their own development trajectory in a way that will suit them. Develpeast:

The major backers of jonathan were leaving him but stood by him because he was one of the descendants of azikiwe. We keep failing in making pragmatic decisions when it comes to the collective future of our people. If we had supported Buhari who had looked for us more than 3-times, we would not have been in this situation. The bottom line is this, we should have at least shared the votes like the westerners did and have a bargaining chip in our hands but we have been crying and showing the world our red buttocks. I will advise igbos to vote in Buhari because he is going to win the next election. And this time, he will be more ruthless than he is in this first tenure. We need to be more serious about our future than our people getting positions in government. 1 Like |

Tell yourself the truth, Ebonyi is supposed to be working on its comparative advantage (agriculture and solid minerals) than working on any airport. Anambra supposed to be working on revamping onitsha, nnewi and awka to be real cities than building an airport. Onitsha needs a better commercial look than what we are seeing now. Onitsha needs to show that it has been there since the early 40's till now. Onitsha is not supposed to still operate with the local market I keep seeing all over the internet. Nnewi should be wearing the look of an industrial city. Industrial estates should be seen everywhere by now. Industrial museum. Technological schools that can help with start-ups. We keep thinking and acting like local champions and we are not seeing that the world is not even going our direction. Curlieweed: Indeed a mighty fire gives birth to cold, timid ashes.
Our ancestors resisted the Great British Empire for decades before we were pacified. Ekumeku in what is today Anioma lasted for 3 decades before they could put it down. In the SE, we resisted for almost 2 decades.
Today, in just 3 years of Apeeshit , my brethren are capitulating. “Let’s not put all our eggs in one basket”. “This NK should shut up before he puts us in trouble.” This is really embarrassing!
If we actually want to develop our land, we need to look inwards. The secret to development is not building roads and bridges. Physical capital of all kinds deteriorate with time. The key thing in development is capacity. If you lack capacity but you got some Chinese to build roads for you then when the roads fail you’re back at the beginning if you don’t have the funds to repair them.
It is just a cargo cult mentality when people believe they can become developed because some foreign contractors are overpaid to put in some inadequate infrastructure in their neighbourhood.
All successful countries developed by acquiring capacity through training, education and health care. When you acquire the required capacity, you can build your own roads, bridges, railways and other infrastructure. You can maintain them. Your productivity improves and you can develop more physical capital. If you combine this capacity with a conducive environment for doing business you’re on your way to becoming a rich society.
There is no other magic formula to development. We should not allow politrickcians to decieve is that we are locking ourselves out of some goodies if some token Igbo person is not representing us on the table. They usually don’t represent us. They represent themselves, their family and close cronies ( who may not even be Igbo). I am shocked that I have to explain all this.
We cannot depend on the FG to develop our land, they can’t even develop anywhere. Even Abuja is ringed with slums. We need to look inwards as our forebears did in the 40s and 50s, pull ourselves up by the bootstraps and walk the talk.
Dalu nu! Impressive! This is golden. 5 Likes 1 Share |

LasGidiOwner: Then what is Imo state supposed to be doing? What do you need airport for when you are not an economically viable state? Onitsha on the other hand has rose to become the largest commercial center in West Africa, Nnewi has also grown to be the auto city with some vehicle manufacturing centers, Awka has been growing as the fastest developing city east of the Niger.
Now tell us what your Imo state has been doing to develop Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe to be real cities? What does Imo state actually needs an airport for when the state barely have roads? What does Imo state needs airport for when the state does not have any form of economic presence?
Let us tell ourselves the truth, only Anambra, and maybe Abia to some extent that truly needs an airport in the SE. Anambra with the largest population in the SE needs at least 2 airports(One domestic and one International). Thank goodness that Anambra has since kicked off the construction of its own airport.
Did you read and assimilate that post at all?? Or you are just bent on hyping your state over his? You are not worse than these other clowns that punch keypads with animosity. I pity you tho! |

Nnamdi Kanu is the Biafran Darling.
Hate him or love him, Nnamdi Kanu will shut down the entire SE again come election day.
The only thing that i fear is that Buhari might be the handler.
The DSS went away with alot of videos from Kanu house and could be putting out all those video to make it seem as if they are not holding him.
Also his broadcast could be their script to him. 1 Like |

UdechiHD: No need sharing this speech. We will vote in our numbers whether or not IPOB headquarters like it. For this is the only way to keep our aspirations alive. God forbid we fail to vote! Kanu know that no one but his die hard followers will pay heed to such suicide mission. Not voting will give Buhari the edge and that will still not count in our favour unless an underground negotiation has been agreed. The Igbo nation is voting massively in 2019. Kanu should take that to the bank. I advice you speak for yourself not all of Igboland. 2019 will surprise #AtikuObi especially Peter Obi. Today at a particular news paper stand at CMS, I could sense the confusion in the discussion of the Igbo guys who were there, the confusion between boycotting the election and voting. Even on popular social media handles like Facebook and Twitter, the #AtikuObi hash tag has been on low key since last week Friday. There is confusion currently and I pray God will guide all Ndigbo in 2019 concerning this election. |

His otuocha pretty wife and child enjoy first class standard of living all in the UK.
He wants to come back with hell and stall economic activities in the SE and make our region unviable for investors.
Kanu should be assassinated. Such a miscreant.
He is not smart and lacks the qualities of a true leader.
He is bringing us more deaths , pain and suffering rather than calculative liberation. Kanu was arrested in 2015 and locked up in Kuje Prison because of what he believed in. Nigerians have been subjected to suffering by this vision less government since 2015 and while you suffered yours in your work place with your family members standing by you, NK suffered his' in Kuje prison. Nnamdi Kanu did not force you to support him or Biafra, why then are you throwing insults up and down in this thread?
