My Fiance & I are travelling to Greece for our honeymoon.
I've spent a lot of time researching & feel I have a reasonable idea of what we should do but would be very appreciative of your expertise!
We would like to spend 5/6 nights in Crete before going to Santorini for 5/6 nights. We will then come back and spend 2 nights in Athens to see the famous sights before flying home.
My first questions is- would you recommend booking hotels and transfers through a travel agency or do you think it would be cheaper doing it ourselves.
Is it true that it can be difficult to work out the boats/transfers between the islands - do you have any advice to make this as easy as possible.
And we just want a magical hotel situated near the beach and a village/town with fantastic local food!
We have not yet decided if we will be hiring a car (but maybe we can use Crete Chania Airport Transfers)

Thank you for your recommendations. I'm also planning my honeymoon but my wife doesn't want an island. He plans to make a car tour of Europe and Britain. We even calculated the distance between our stopping points and calculated fuel costs using distance calculator UK I think we'll go on the road next month. We start our tour from Spain, after Portugal, France and to Britain.
