phemmie06: At 1st glance, not a great result from NEM. It's clear that their expense line (opex, admin, claims, underwriting exposure) had a draw back on their net income margin and occasioned the drop in PAT. But for the much lower tax expense in the 3 months btw July and Sept 3018, PAT would've been lower. Overall, its a slightly below average result !! However, its not so bad in my view, so the company still has a chance to turn things around by yr end. ...in retrospect, the situation with NEM is still within controllable limit. NOTE: NOT to be interpreted to mean any sought of recommendation. ...due diligence still applies. 2 Likes 1 Share |

onegentleguy: That rights issue get as e be. With abundant supply at the market price of N2.30, the rights issue price of N2.50 looks expensive. May be interesting for those looking for control though. |

Mpeace: Slightly improved performance given where they were as at Q2... but its clear that the bank is still seriously struggling !! The poor financials with most of their KEY drivers of revenue and earnings line describes an inefficient and clueless management at the helm of affairs. ...who are unable to think outside the box with deriving benefits from both their core and non-core line of business. But for the proceeds from trading income line which helped save the day, their performance either side of their investment and L&A/interest drivers were relatively poor. After 2 quarters since their offshore asset divestment, the group still recorded a negative PAT btw July to Sept 2018. There's still a worrying ROAE, ROAA, EPS, GROSS MARGIN, NET MARGIN, EBITDA MARGIN, RE and EM. This coy is in need of solvency to boost their WC. ...but before then, the current management needs to go !! Otherwise shareholders might be in for a long thing. Let's hope that the new management that will take over in the near future will help turn things around. Will I buy DIAMOND BANK? ...No. I'll prefer to wait and see how things play out in the coy with the release of their 2018 AFS. Should u sell if u hold a stake in the bank? ...well that would depend on ur personality, strategy and investment horizon. DISCLOSURE: I currently do NOT hold any stake in DIAMOND BANK. CAVEAT: NOT to be reckoned as any sought of recommendation. ...when in doubt, pls do well to indulge the services of a reputable investment manager/adviser for guidance. 1 Like 1 Share |
