The validity is 10years so you can still use it.

For now. I've read that the 'old' yellow cards will expire at the end of this year though. And we will need to apply for the new one through the new process from next year.

It costs 2500 if you go to the Port Health without paying online. There are people there who can assist with online payment, but this causes delay.

If you decide to register and make payment online by yourself, it will cost you 2000 naira.

https://yellowcardnigeria.com

Ensure you make a print out of the RRR after successful payment. Make a photocopy of the data page of your passport and write the RRR code on it.

This is what you'll submit after they do a roll call, which means you have to fill your details (name and RRR), on the register as soon as you get there.

You won't get to the MM airport before you see the Port Health. It is beside that airport toll.

Sometimes you may meet a crowd there and spend hours. Be prepared and plan ahead.

You are expected to get the vaccine I think 10days (or maybe 14days, not sure now) before your travel date.

Well, some people get to hear about the yellow card as they're about to travel, they'll then rush to get the card and corrupt some people there to have it back dated.

Some go for entirely fake cards. It's always better to do the right thing ahead. Nigerians complain about corruption, but it is actually our penchant for cutting corners and not doing the right thing at the right time that corrupts public services, before those ones pick it up to a higher level.

Manager007:

Choosing to study nursing is a very good decision on your part. You will be able to secure a job and even move around different countries on a Nursing degree/diploma with the help of recruitment agencies (but you gotta work hard).

I would recommend studying via Netcare education (visit www.netcare.co.za/23/education-and-training). You will first need to write a standardized exam/test at OLG. If you pass, you begin the Netcare nursing program, if you dont get the required score, you will have to do something similar to "pre-degree" for one year, also at Netcare.

Now the advantage of netcare is that it has hospitals all over SA and in other countries abroad, so, you can choose to do your practicals at any hospital closest to your house. Another advantage is that you can also earn money while studying with netcare, once you complete the first year, you obtain a diploma and there are numerous job adverts for nursing assistants in their hospitals, every now and then. Alot of students rely on these jobs, you earn a decent wage and still get to earn your degree as well. So its a win-win situation.

However, before you even think of applying for admission, you need to evaluate your results at SAQA ( www.saqa.org.za), the evaluated credentials will be most useful in securing admission at Netcare or any other nursing colleges in SA.

Another good and reputable nursing college is Thuto Bophelo ( visit http://www.nursingacademy.co.za).

For accommodation, you will find your feet after a month or two during studies, you will find shared accommodation with your fellow students and share all bills. Just make friends and help and knowledge will come your way.

Lastly, another good course/program to study is Pharmacist Assistant. The good thing about all these courses is they give you practical training and you also earn money on the job

if there's any information else required, please ask and i'm sure everybody on this thread will be able to answer if they can.

All the best!

Thanks for this update... Id like to ask you some questions after reading thru

Good evening gurus in the house, please I need somebody to enlighten me. I want to apply for a visit visa but the balance in my account is about 400k which I was told is too small and I'm suppose to have up to 1m. I'm working and earning above 100k now my brother want to give me his company statement of account as a sponsor. Please can I use his statement of account as a sponsor? And how do I go about it and how do I back it up? I will really appreciate your respond please.

it depends on how long you are staying

why confusing the lady bro? if u r the consular, will u grant her visa when u know a return flight alone cost 165k-170k, her balance will remain 230k.. will 230k be enough to take care of her bills over there and still come back here without feeling it?

it depends on how long she is staying, 400k is more than enough, plus she gets paid every month for more than 100k, infact her statement of account will scale through. what they look out for is steady cash flow not account balance
