[quote author=efi97 post=72544900]CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY Bachelor's degree (four years) You have only one degree to claim here, did you start with ATS? if you did you can assess only that and get a positive evaluation. If not, look for an alternative programme to enroll in to help boost your score. |

efi97: it is not 2 or more degree. IT HAS BEEN SAID OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. ICAN IS SEEN AS A PROFESSIONAL STUDY NOT EQUIVALENT TO AN EDUCATIONAL DEGREE IN CANADA. only ATS is evaluated as diploma. If you have ATS you can evaluate that but if ur ATS Certificate has ABWA make sure ICAN writes a note with your transcript. that its the same ICAN. 2 Likes 3 Shares |

Hi, I can't resist commenting on your post . I do hope you can make the right decision based on what I am writing now. My close relative got ITA and submitted all documents in December 2017. He got in at 452 or so. This included additional 15 points from my brother who is a canadian citizen. After a long wait of almost 9 months, the application was rejected. He used 2 or more certificate option based on his ICAN verification and BSC degree. In the rejection letter , the immigration officer explained the ICAN certificate was not tenable. This is the exact extract from the rejection letter : '' Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited you to apply for permanent resident status based on the qualifications you claimed in your Express Entry profile. In your Express Entry profile you indicated that you obtained a Certificate of Membership from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. According to your Educational Credential Assessment (ECA), completed by World Education Services (WES), this credential is not comparable to a completed Canadian education credential. Therefore, this credential does not qualify under the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program. This change in your qualifications resulted in a loss of points that brought your rank below the lowest ranking person who was invited to apply in your round of invitation, under the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). I do note that your ECA lists your Bachelor of Science degree from *********University, which is comparable to a completed Canadian education credential, and for which you obtained the allotted number of CRS points. But unfortunately, you still failed to obtain the minimum CRS score required, as your credential from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria is unable to be used under the FSW program. As I have found that you no longer possess the qualification on the basis of which you were ranked under an instruction given under paragraph 10.3(1)(h), you no longer meet the requirements of Section 11.2 of Act. Following an examination of your application, I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of the Act and Regulations for the reasons explained above. I am therefore refusing your application. You will receive a refund of the Right of Permanent Residence Fee that you have paid''. Naturally , he was devastated .However , he wrote an appeal letter where he compared his ICAN certificate to similar global certificate . This is an extract from his appeal letter : Evidence 1: According to World Educational Services Canada (WES) evaluation of my ICAN certificate, it was determined that my ICAN certificate is equivalent to a 2‐year Canadian program, but it was not stated if it was equivalent to an undergraduate or a graduate program. I am writing to let you know that ICAN certification is a graduate level program which requires an undergraduate degree as a prerequisite. This is similar to the Chartered Professional Accountant Canada Professional Education Program CPA PEP) which is a 2‐year graduate‐level academic program which also requires an undergraduate degree as a prerequisite (https://www.cpacanada.ca/en/become‐a‐cpa/pathways‐to‐becoming‐a‐cpa). Hence, based on this information, I believe ICAN certification is equivalent to the Chartered Professional Accountant Canada (CPA) certification. Evidence 2: ICAN and CPA belong to the International Federation of Accountant (http://www.ifac.org/about‐ ifac/membership/member‐organizations‐and‐country‐profiles). This makes ICAN a recognised professional accounting program worldwide, and an equivalent certification to CPA. In conclusion, I believe my undergraduate degree and ICAN certification qualify me for “Two or More Certificates, Diplomas or Degree of which one must be for a program of three years”. His appeal letter was ACCEPTED and he was asked to do a new medical. HE RECEIVED PPR TODAY !!!! i wouldn't know if this experience will trigger a change in CIC view/policy concerning ICAN certificate . Action of one courageous person can change the world. Its not always good to believe anything just because someone said so. If he hasn't written his appeal, he will still be waiting for ATS verification as widely believed and advised by most applicants . I wish you the best in your application. efi97: 92 Likes 14 Shares |

A big hearty CONGRATULATIONS to d PPR nd ITA clinchers +IELTS acers...May God ease our affairs. Indeed, this journey no be moinmoin.Comittment and perseverance is a must. Started planning for this journey since February 2016.Was a complete novice about EE FSW then but hubby's friend came around and told us about it with his sugar coated tongue. All i kept hearing was 'just go and write ielts nd evaluate ur result'.Na so ur sister rush go do ielts o...(didnt even know theres a golden band score)... After ielts,na so mentor go MIA ..So,i started researching nd stumbled on Canadavisa forum. Also been following this thread like no mans business. Got to know dat i was still in d cocoon. For me to even smell ITA,3 years working experience and maxing out IELTS or at least an 8777 score is key.And na only 1year NYSC experience i get. Dont think about hubby evaluating results nd sitting for ielts, all join,e no reach. Alhamdullilah, got a good job january 2,2017 which will give me my 3years experience next year. I'll b sitting for ielts by february 2019.WES still very valid...Wish me luck. Sorry for d epistle...just reminiscing. Seniors,God bless you for always coming through. With our eye on the price and God by our side,it shall end in praise. 38 Likes |

I have some savings in my Cooperative Account, can I get a letter from the cooperative office and use for POF? Also, can I use payslips to back this up as the deductions were done from my salary? The cooperative bye-law does not permit closing the account except if you are no longer in that employment, but I am still working there. Has anyone successfully used cooperative savings as POF here? 1 Like |

I must say this is one of the best post I have read on NL. One must know that whatever may have been the norm, you can always change it. I would have done the same thing your brother did however, mine would have been directed to the evaluation body. If WES says they can evaluate a professional certification like CPA, ACCA etc. Why would ICAN be different? So whoever is evaluating ICAN must be ready to school the evaluators as I have seen people do that in other threads and they were successfully. Never be too afraid to get what you want. Wish we all smooth sailing!! [Qquote author=ebony9ja post=72546501]Hi, I can't resist commenting on your post . I do hope you can make the right decision based on what I am writing now.
