Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by fibonacci2526: 10:35pm On Oct 31, 2018 |
Dills: Honestly wouldn't advise anyone to get phones like mi 8 SE or mi 6x unless they are sure of getting the sealed Chinese version. What most of these sellers sell on Alixpress are ones with fake/shop roms. Good luck Sha. |

bigtt76: Okay o. You mean to say that someone's phone can charge for 12-24 hours if you're using it to play PUBG while charging? |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Dills(m): 10:47pm On Oct 31, 2018 |
Lesson learnt bro. Can I get my phone now? You've had dealings with these guys, what do u think my fate would be? henry007: |

Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by bily(m): 11:01pm On Oct 31, 2018 |
henry007: Yes, depending on the charging source and the power the usage scenario is drawing. Try charge your phone with a laptop off, then compare it with charging the phone with the same laptop while playing pubg It's very possible that the phone will not charge or may even die on you while playing the game, but will definitely charge when switched off. This is basic physics and its surprising coming from a tech reviewer that it's a myth 9 Likes |

henry007:Ordering on AliExpress by yourself could be cheaper sometimes. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Timbuktu14(m): 11:04pm On Oct 31, 2018 |
Youngsage:Forget, many sellers here do get issues too - behind the scene and not all DHL order has that custom issue. 3 Likes |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by bily(m): 11:12pm On Oct 31, 2018 |
Youngsage: Don't get yourself worked up over nothing. It's normal for all goods shipped by DHL to pass through customs... That doesn't mean you'll be charged. Funny all items I have ever shipped through DHL to Nigeria passed through custom and I have never been charged.. Even when I got a notebook from gearbest. All were delivered free. But if you're receiving international shipments via DHL outside Nigeria, it's almost 100% certain you'll be charged in those other countries. Guess it's cos they have working system and tax laws |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by henry007(m): 11:21pm On Oct 31, 2018 |
Timbuktu14: It should be cheaper all the time if nothing unexpected happens in transit. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by henry007(m): 11:24pm On Oct 31, 2018 |
bily: I've basically led you back to my first point. I don't like to argue things that cannot be proven online tho i have 2 4000mAh phones from the same brand right here for the testing. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by henry007(m): 11:34pm On Oct 31, 2018 |
Dills: No. Never had that but i have had a bad shipment that never made it to Nigeria. That's way worse. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Timbuktu14(m): 1:09am On Nov 01, 2018 |
henry007:I agree. The issue is the 'unexpected' custom charge. Sellers want to ship it cheap. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Timbuktu14(m): 1:10am On Nov 01, 2018 |
henry007:DHL or AES? |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by bily(m): 1:12am On Nov 01, 2018 |
henry007: Some stuffs are just too basic to be searching for proof online. It's like searching for a proof that if you throw an object up on earth without any external obstruction, it will fall back to the ground. Almost same principle applies to rechargeable lamps, inverters when charging batteries etc A load on the battery will always reduce the charging rate especially if there is no pass through system incorporated. Anyways, it's good you want to test it. But you should have done the test first before calling it a myth. 8 Likes |
