I've been looking for means to ask questions here on this platform buh to no avail.
Thank God i found out this night....my questions goes like this... my mum B2 visiting visa will be expering in mouths time she only stayed six months as instructed by embassy there in Akansas and she is back now.
If the visa got expired how'll she got it renewed?
Thr drop box process is it still much available there in embassy for easy renewa?

I have posted this in the birthing thread but just thought to put it here since it's a "POE" experience grin

I passed through the dreaded Chicago POE grin grin and had a very interesting encounter.

I came to the US for a business meeting and had no business with Chicago o but BA decided that I must pass Chicago before getting to my final destination.

Got to the CBP officer- White guy

Cbp: what are you here for and how long
Me: told him
Cbp: where do you work
Me: told him
CBP: when last did you come to the US and what for
Me: i had a baby the last time I came (I was tired jare plus had a connecting flight to catch so I went straight to the point)
Him: Why did you have your baby in the US
ME: DUAL citizenship
Him(Visibly upset): How much did you pay?
Me: Told him and I added that I had renewed my visa after that and was asked all these questions at the embassy
Him(very angry and raising his voice at me): Your child can NEVER be an American. You think you can just come here and give birth and he becomes American? He can never be one. Show me your ticket I want to be sure you are leaving my country.

Me (showed him my return ticket) Him: (Raising his voice now) Get out of my face... Just Go... Get out
Me: eh... have you stamped my passport?
Him: Just get out!
Me: jejely carried my passport and checked that he had stamped me in
Carried my bags and went to catch my connecting flight.

In all this, I was very calm... I didn't let him bother me at all...

There you go! My experience at ORD

Yes dropbox renewal is still very much possible expect in a situation where her visa has expired for more than 11 months 20 days.

Hmmm...this is unbelievable. No matter his personal issues, he is working, representing an entity, and has no right to treat you as such. If he does this with the wrong person, he will be reported, and will likely be terminated.

I live in Chicago, so I pass through these folks quite a bit. And my experience has always been pleasant.

Good evening everyone.. Please i really need your guidance..
I am a part 5 law student
This is my first time applying for a b1/b2 visa

I was picked for the ANNUAL WORLD BANK YOUTH SUMMIT in Dec3rd and 4th..
Also My uncle in the USA also helped register a day course in New york Lawyers county association for Dec 21.

However the agent helping to fill the forms said the WORLD BANK SUMMIT WILL not work for me as my interview date is NOV 29 and that my visa wont be ready before Dec 3rd for the World bank own..

However the three places he listed i will visit include
1. New york Lawyers county association
2. World bank group Headquarters
3. My uncles law firm in New york

He then shelduled my travelling date to Dec15..

Please what are the likely questions the interviewer/ consular will ask.

It is at the discretion of the CBP officer to let him into U.S or not and decide on how long he will stay in U.S but instead of doing that why not renew the visa and apply for his father asap.... but if he's ready to answer a lot of questions he can go ahead with his travel plan.
Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by lanrems: 8:24pm On Nov 01, 2018
Your friend can use the visa up until 16th of DEC without hassles. he will still be able to get the 6months stamp or lesser depending on the CBP in charge.
As for the 63years man advice is for him to apply later, embassy is not funny nowadays not business as usual. Your friend can enjoy the trip and buy goodies for the old man on his return.....my advice though!!!

Hi everyone,
Please I need your help.
My family was issued US B1/B2 visa and we travelled the first time and returned without issues. During our second visit, I went ahead of my family. On their way coming, my husband’s visa was cancelled at the port of entry and they were not allowed entry, nothing was said about my children, but they had to return home with their dad.
I came back and now want to do dropbox for me and my children (my husband has to go for interview since he is not qualified for a dropbox but he is not ready now).
In my children’s DS-160 form, one of the questions is: “Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa, or been refused admission to the United States, or withdrawn your application for admission at the port of entry?” I’m considering answering NO since my husband was the one refused entry. Would this be ok? I need your advice please

I see no reason why they will deny ''Papa'' unless the father did not pass his answer across well... Papa should go ahead with his application.. he's not a travel risk.

Even though the children were not deported or refused entry... you must answer NO because they withdrew their application for admission at the port of entry.

@seyewest, are you saying he can apply for renewal of visa before expiration or do you mean he should wait for it to expire then apply for renewal, please clarify?he didnt use the visa atall since it was issued, hence the need to travel before expiration, advise

Either way he maybe called up for interview during renewal... my fear is that he maybe deported (denied entry) because he waited till his visa has almost expired before traveling except in a case where he has solid travel history.
If it was me... I will risk it and spend less than 2 weeks in U.S before my visa expire.

Visit the U.S embassy website or pay the visa fees, fill another ds160 and update your appointment profile.

Thought you can't transit through Canada without a Canadian visa.
