The story of Agbudu Udi is the story of almost every Igbo village with varying degrees of development. We salute the Traditional ruler and all the leaders here and wish them a happy Christmas in advance.

I love that man for his wonderful performance in Igbo land. If the past two useless governors had done half of what he did, Ebonyi would have been more beautiful than its today. I give kudos to him. He deserves more than second tenure.

I think the whole people of Ebonyi state are solidly behind him, they can see and feel his government policies.

I am pleading with you all. I know many of you love showing that you can use grandiloquent words effortlessly in your arguments. This is not the reason why we are here. None of us are even analysing anything about what is coming. After 2019 elections, we will come back to this thread and cry again of marginalisation and lack of infrastructure in the east.

It is imperative that you all should know that the development of igboland is easier now that we don't have any form of real responsibilities. Our government are not paying the police, custom officers and other activities the federal government are channelling money into. We have lesser number of people in the state workforce, making it easier to handle payment of salaries.

We are still here, seeing the lack of innovative reasoning our governors keep showcasing in governance in the region. Just some days ago, I saw that the benchmark for building one kilometre road in a metropolis is N238million. But we keep suffering from lack of roads when most of roads in the east link our villages to the city centre (one lane) and that cost just less than N100million.

We are not even making our research towards building a real infrastructural CBD and industrial estate that can make development easier for us before this phantom Biafran dream. No one is talking of embedded power projects and what is happening to the power projects in the east.

In the east our government are not involved in any business venture that can generate money for the state except taxation and Abuja money. I find this disheartening to say the least but we are not talking about them but just about nri, Ikwerre and Biafra.

None of you really cares about the future because as we can all see, 90% of you all stay at least 500kilometres away from the east. So you are enjoying the wealth and environment other governments provided for their people. We do not understand that as population keeps increasing, these states will start bringing up policies that will enable their indigenes get more opportunities than we that are visitors.

We need to start facing the real issues. We have close to 70million market to conquer within the next 10years before other people will. We need to use our capacity now before they will finally sideline us in the political calculation in this country.

We should start discussing please, so that we can find a real, strong and sustainable solution to the problems in igboland.

Stating a historical event doesn't mean I am in support or I am against the event.
I am indifferent since it didn't directly affect me .

Your historical event was wrongly stated. Biafrans did not invade Midwest, they were invited by Midwest. The Binis later igbonized the event to discredit it. Your claim that ojukwu appointed igbo administrator sound mischievous since the administrator was the most qualified from the Midwest

The western world is reaping the fruits of empowering the younger generation with skills that will keep making them competitive in the next generations. Bill gates, Jeff bezos, Paul Allen, etc are evident in our eyes today. We have been selling clothes even before Zara own it's first store. We are still stuck in the last generation with no end in sight. We have refused to do better than our fathers. Our fathers with the little education and information they had built a system that spread wealth in the pockets of millions of igbos today.

The wealth created through learning trade. This method of creating wealth has made many of our families rich and stable and unfazed with the present economic situation in the country. We have refused to understudy this system. Worst of all, we are killing the system by employing secondary school graduate on 15k monthly salary to learn the trade. This has made the spread of wealth stalled and it will have a devastating effect in the coming years.

Why will it become a problem? Education in Nigeria today do not make us self-sufficient rather it makes us more dependent on the government like other regions. We have been able to manage bad governance by not being dependent on the government. If we stop this method of wealth transfer, we will suffer a very strong blow in the coming years.

What options do we have now to avert the incoming problems we may start facing in the future? I can only give two:

1. Modify the present system: Since the economic situation and the perceived monopoly of commerce in the country by our people is becoming watered by the emergence of many players and bigger players. The government should be able to assist traders in opening a bigger markets that can whittle down the influence of bigger players who has seen the lucrativeness of this sector and wanting to take it from us. More monies should be in the pockets of traders through the creation of strategic microfinance banks. The design of our markets needs to be upgraded so that heavier products and bulkier products can be sold easily. We should embrace the internet because more products are flying through mail than going the the stress of traveling. We should incorporate online market system in the new design of our major markets in the east. Traders should be retaught about the importance of learning a trade and paying the students to keep the system going because standing alone will kill the sector we dominate.

2. Radical Change of our educational system: The present educational system we are practising in the east will make us poor next 20years. We will have knowledge but will not be able to produce nor practice with it. Our methodologies needs to be overhauled with new and innovative reasoning. Humans are like products. We need to produce real humans with content and not tabula raza. It should be noted that if Nigeria needs programmers, it should be coming from the east. If Nigeria needs the best neurologist, it should come from the east. If Nigeria needs the best civil engineers, it should come from the east. Our educational system should inculcate a level of real practical that can make a secondary school leaver capable of feeding himself from the knowledge gathered in his six years of study in the school. We shouldn't disregard many of these knowledge. Things they could have learned while in secondary school are many and we could design these things to help them in the future. Our university graduates should be experts in their field and not starter packs. It is through developing human contents that we can develop other areas of the economy.

If we handle our commercial and educational comparative advantage well enough, we will be able to keep all the economies of other states in the region on lockdown. We will be ruling their economies by proxy. We will not be able to be contained. For example, as we are having a filled market in Onitsha. Onitsha market management would have as a result of these understudy the population of people coming into the market to get products and ascertain the state the highest number of customers are coming from and create another cluster point by building another market mall there. This will increase sales, increase overall presence and create ease of doing business in Onitsha and other markets in the east. We will continue creating an imposing presence in the states and it will be difficult for us to be neglected.

While building a real educational system will help us is that, many of the projects we love to give to the Chinese could have been done better by our people with more love in their hearts than what we are seeing today. We could have built a working technological advanced system that will solve problems all over west Africa and the world.

Norway, Canada, USA, New Zealand, Holland, Australia, Switzerland and the rest are having shortage of skilled manpower. If we key into the shortage human capital in these countries, we might be able to solve it for them. Our people will gain from the improved pay and better system and migrate to such areas. This will reduce unemployment in the region.

There are many other things we can do but let me stop here and let other people bring better ideas.

Please read Prof China Achebe's There was a Country and Olusegun Obasanjo's My Command, you will see that the Midwest was indeed invaded but the stated motives of that invasion may differ.

Neither the Oba of Benin nor Gov David Ejoor of The Midwest invited Biafra to invade their State.
