I'm trying to wrap my head around this git workflow. Let's say I'm working on a branch A (which contain index.html, index.css). And I now want to copy the contents of A to a new empty (without any file and commit) branch B. How do I go about this? Thank you...

git checkout -b newbranchname

It will automatically create a new local branch "newbranchname" when you push to origin it'll create a remote branch for you on github
