I called datacomm and the feedback they gave was that Voltron input range for 12kva is 140v to 220v. I have never seen such a small band so I went for 10kva A&E instead which has 80v to 270v. I hope it will be sufficient for my load.

yeah the A&E is superb, though my 10kva servo redlines the few times phcn dropped to 90v, with my 4kva mustpower inverter, 2 x 10liter water heater and 130w fridge, i ususally hv to turn off the water heaters to prevent the stabilizer from going into overload

Interesting experience you've got with A&E so maybe a 15kva is what I should have gotten then. Are you using the desktop version or wall mount? it seem the wall mount has more indicators than desktop. I have just been contacted that the wall mount I ordered is out of stock so am considering the desktop version.

Please I'm looking for where to buy a DC rated Busbar to connect 3 battery banks of 48v each (600amps total) a 5kva inverter 48vdc 35amp max charge and two charge controllers 80amps and 60amps.

Basically I need a Busbar that is rated 1000amps 48+vdc

On Amazon.com the price is over $120 don't know if we have local substitute here

It is PRIDE, no amount of advice will change anyone that has it. I remember some years back, this same person called me several times just because I asked for a single 100AH battery. Today you need to be at certain level to get his attention. PRIDE.

I still discussed a single inverter with him today and he was very professional about it.

Yeah..depending on your hous3 loads..and transformer.15kva is best. In my area..the <100v situation doesnt last very long..less than 2hrs..and the street transformer wil cut...
Am using the wall mount..i prefer it any time..any day.

This is very false. Electricity be it, AC or DC above a certain voltage will kill you. While it is the current that kills and not voltage, but after a certain voltage there is enough propensity to deliver the current ....
You're right but not entirely so. I was going to point out other things related to electrocution but they're way off-topic. Those who know me in real life would tell you I'm pretty well positioned to give advice on this but would demur at this point.
There is however a very important characteristic of the waveforms which make one of them more likely to kill, asides the current delivered or the voltage at which it is driven. And you'd mentioned it already.

They both have their strong and weak points.
This is why the life expectancy in Nigeria is pegged somewhere around 55 according to WHO.
Why? Because we worry over trivial issues.
Be it Long or Quanta, without proper management, they will both die.
With proper management, they will last a while. C'est finis.

Prag has an 80 to 230v servo stab

It means it can't handle high voltage since it's 230v? There is also no prag servo at 10kva with 80v to 260v. I can't seem to find the 15kva servo of A&E at a friendly price so will settle for 10kva desktop

Yes Aircon copper tubes can also be used but the earthing stripe is better for high current rating.

Just lookout for thick copper tubes, compress it and cut to size.

Pls guys i need assistance with information.

So i am a stickler for PSW inverters but I'm on a verrrry tight budget.

I want to know if using repurposed pure sine wave ups like apc brands is worth it (taking idle watt load into consideration most especially) or which cheap PSW with passable track record will be suggested_chinese brands inclusive. I just fear what msw inverters can do to transformer windings in appliances and also fan coils.

Or are my fears unfounded?

Is mercury a good MSW to use?

Someone who was supposed to send me his own home built PSW system with very mouth watering specs has kept dissapointing me repeatedly. I'm tired of waiting. He doesnt get that punctuality is really the sole of business. So sad.

So I'm all ears pls. Thanks my Ogas dem.

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by NiyiOmoIyunade(m): 3:47pm On Nov 06, 2018
Notice that Oga Dapsyra used the expression thick copper bar.

That is the operative word thick - the cables or bars used in a DC system need to be sufficiently rated (read contain enough conductive material) to safely pass large DC currents without heating up and causing a fire.

Generally and all things being equal, the thicker a copper bar is, the better it can safely conduct. Since our local copper bars here don't have label stickers attached to easily know their ampacity ratings, we err on the side of caution and oversize and go as thick as possible.

So I dont know how thick an AC copper tube is but the ones in my AC are not thick at all and even the shape does not lend to easy use for battery termination except you crush it flat or get it in plate form. Perhaps one could use such in high voltage low current DC systems but I would not risk it for conventional 12-48v residential DC systems unless I could guarantee the system would pass only small currents.

I choose not to believe the bolded caption. Can you please shed more info?

I am a DIY solar installation enthusiast, I have been a able to successfully executed over 8 projects, but having come close to install 20 panels of 325watts 30v to a luminous 10kva 180v. How are the solar panels connected to achieve 180v output.?
.

You will need charge controller of 180volt , do a series of 9panel (least or cool then 2string bearing in mind the float voltage of the batteries can reach 215v- 220v

I have only installed this design onces using yohako 180v 80ah controller, using 300watt panel with voc 40volt, won't venture into such design again, high risk of electrocution, poor system efficiency ( limited controller types), poor maintenance. Would rather convert to 48volt system.
