Hard to say. Mou has always preferred brawn over brain. And he's got his favorites.

I opt to see injury as the reason for Lukaku's recent omissions, not the thought (or hope) that Mou might be binning him. He might be back before you know it and Rashford n Martial will return to their reserved places on the bench. Alexis, Lingard and Luks are his favorite attackers.

When Matic got injured at the beginning of the season Perreira started a couple of games or so. Since Matic's return he's barely managed 30 mins on the pitch, not to talk of a starting berth.

We usually look better without Lukaku upfront because the other strikers are more mobile and as such allows others to play off of them by drawing defenders out of position.

You can't play possession football with Lukaku because he'll lose the ball in tight spaces due to his horrible first touch. Also he hardly wins aerial duels with defenders from GKs. In our last match Pogba was saddled with that responsibility and despite being shorter than Lukaku, he executed that duty well.

But despite all these, I don't think Mourinho is ready to bin the Belgian. He offers more defensively than other attackers and that seems to be the number one quality Mourinho looks for in all his players, strikers included.

Being world class is about consistently giving top quality performances. A player who does not do that for 2-3 years straight has stopped being world class and one who does that can be called world class.

I don't know what you mean by drifting in an out. I have told you my view on what i think is required of a player before he can be called world class.
A player's value depends TO AN EXTENT on his team but we can't use that argument loosely if not people will come out of the woodwork claiming that Hazard is as good as Messi but it is the team that is holding him back or claiming that Stanley Okoro is as good as Hazard .

Nobody is born world class and you don't inherit it like a royal title. You are world class by your performances on the pitch and if for a long stretch of 2,3, 4 years you don't give consistently world class or top quality performances then your status as a world class player is in doubt.

I conclude by asking you if you think Fernando Torres is a world class striker.
