Have u noticed that in Nigeria, the media is seriously promoting intertribal marraige to Igbo.

In the whole country, Igbo have been singled out for assimilation.

Every Tom, Dick and Harry.

Last one was Linda Ikeji and Itsekiri baby.

Are we still quiet about it?

Where do we draw a line?

Ala igbo is experiencing a marriage crisis.

And who are you?

I'm quite aware of what's going on in this thread over the past 4 to 5 days! This is a pan-Igbo thread, and has seen many of the hard issues and challenges facing us a people being discussed.....this has helped many of us better understand ourselves and appreciate why long-held misgivings, suspicions and angst have persisted!

Some have seen this, and alarm bells have started to ring that this thread is serving as a means to unite Ndigbo towards a common cause and agenda! These scum are the same animals that are responsible for the dismemberment and deliberate shrinking of Alaigbo in the late 60s, and they are the ones also responsible for trying to derail this thread as they see it as a threat!

Those people claiming to be fighting and supporting 'Omambala' whatever? They're impostors...not real Igbo, and they're using this imagined attack on 'Omanbala' as an excuse to abuse other Igbo states so as to set the cat amongst the pidgeons and get Igbos fighting one another! In their minds, they hope this will help maintain the divisions they put in place since the late 60s!

The bastards that have been endlessly commenting on here; posting old disgusting pics of Igbos states/cities, and those who have persisted in replying and retaliating with even more old horrid pics of igbos cities.....all these are either monikers created by one Igbo hater, or there's a command and control centre that's charged with creating monikers to help in their accursed mission. Also these past few days, there are some on here acting like nothing is wrong and still making posts or replying these same Igbo hating bigots and by extension giving them some kind of 'legitimacy'....these very people are either not Igbos and in on the act themselves, or they're Igbos but very dense and stupid not to notice when they're being played!

I continue to watch the charade playing out on here since the mods appear not able or willing to ban these swine together with the IP address they operate from. You've got to be really insecure and afraid of Ndigbo to be able to go to this extent just to try and cause division among them!

So 'igboson', under which category does your pathetic arsse fall under? smiley

NaijirianKing:
I've never considered this fact you just raised, however it appears that most inter-tribal marriages are between Igbo women and other groups. I'm curious as to what you think is the cause?

Also, can this be a good thing?

In certain lights this can be advantageous, it can be a good thing in the sense that such inter-tribal marriages between Igbo women and other groups is usually bringing wealth and resources back to the larger Igbo collective. Igbo women typically only allow elites from other groups to marry them when they do marry outside.

I say this because, the mother of the house typically controls the "culture" of the family, meaning if the mother in an inter-tribal marriage is Igbo, the children of such union will at the least usually understand Igbo and have more of an affinity towards Igbo culture, although such children usually bear the names of their fathers, but their "core" is usually more in line with being Igbo. I know several of these types.

Moreover, since it's usually high-level members of other groups who strive for an Igbo wife as a type of "status symbol", this means that resources will be flowing from other groups into the hands of Igbos via their sisters, daughters, nieces and cousins who will naturally look out for any and all family members.

Allowing the elites from other groups to marry into our circles may not be such a bad thing as long as we make sure resources are returning back to the larger collective. Of course, this number has to be a small percentage of the overall total, this will be accomplished by only encouraging such unions where the other ethnic group is among the elites of their tribe.

It is a threat to Igbo culture, tradition and population.

The rate at which Nigeria media promotes inter-tribal marriage to Igbo is suspicious.

Our women now see it as the norm no longer as the exception.

Let us take Mariam BABAGINDA, wat have Ndiigbo gained from that union?

Do the kids even remember that their mother was an Igbo Asaba woman?

If we continue at this rate, our population will decline.

Like u said, any marraige Igbo men contract with non igbo women is at a loss.

The children are not Igbo and may choose to go with their mother.

Igbo need both their men and women to make Igbo babies that will continue the Igbo culture.

This recent trend is very serious and it is time we stop playing dangerous games.

I no longer know whether the problem is shortage of men or just plane greed for money.

Or desire to wipe Igbo out on the part of Nigerian men.

Slept with women from all over the world.

I think the problem is the greed for money, some how I don't blame igbo girls that marry outside their tribe. Things are hard in this country and it will be hard for a girl to turn down a rich suitor due to tribal differences.

I fully understand your point, a group that doesn't first seek to replicate from within it's own ranks is endangered. Consciousness needs to be spread, it all starts with familial relatives and spreads from there.

You know what needs to be done.

Precisely!

Every other group in Nigeria seems more aware than Ndiigbo in this very moment.

U know wat else?

Our beautiful girls seems to be the pioneers.

Let me share this real life story with you.

There is this Igbo girl called Ifeoma.

She is really beautiful, tall and light skinned.

Guess wat, during Ibori time as Delta State gov, this Urhobo guy with a lot of Dollars got her pregnant and did traditional.

Only to abandon her for his fellow Urhobo woman, almost straightway.

He said his people did not accept the marriage.

She raised their daughter by herself with support of her family now based in US.

Recently, she married a Yoruba.

She claimed Igbo suitors are not coming forward becos of the kid.
Re: . by topboss: 9:12pm On Nov 08, 2018
Her case is very similar to Yvonne Nwosu, that was impregnated in her youth by Aboki

He collect the child and left for UK, got her ban from entering UK.

Yvonne has to travel to France, where she gets a supervised visit of her daughter.

Ndiigbo, y are we getting it wrong with our daughters?

No doubt the Aboki will lash the pussy everytime he allows her access to her own daughter.

Been following your posts about our women marrying into other ethnic groups at an alarmingly high rate, and you couldn't be further from the truth. In just this year alone, I've attended over 6 weddings where the grooms were mostly yoruba or Edo and the brides...well you guess it.. Igbos. And this is in the USA where I happen to reside. The good news however, is the statistics of Igbo women marrying from other cultures is still on the low side, at least 80% of our beautiful women proudly stick to their Igbo men, with the Lower average marrying from other ethnicities. I also noticed Igbo men tend to marry lots of Efik and Ibibio women which is understandable been that we share so much in common at least culturally with them.

Another thing worth noticing, is that yoruba men typically consider dating Igbo women as some sort of psychological satisfaction for them, like it's almost some sort of bragging rights for them, not sure why this is the case.. Igbo guys no dey even send their women like that except the exceptionally pretty ones...But the reverse is the case for their men, they will settle for any Ndidi or Amaka even if she's a dreg, only 15% of Igbo women settle for them however...and this women are the ones either born or bredin South western states especially Lagos, or have interacted with lots of Yorubas.

Wen u say southwest states and mention Lagos, it does not give much comfort.

Inview that Lagos is the main Igbo City following Biafra war and blockade of Igbo land till date.

you are disturbing yourself too much about this matter. What do you have to say about the women in other ethnic groups who are ignored because of Igbo women? Igbo men make the tribe. As long as Igbo men keep marrying Igbo women, I'm OK with it because, there are enough Igbo women in the east to go round. If Igbo women keep marrying non-Igbos, it doesn't really matter to me. One thing there is that, such Igbo women who marry non-Igbos should be considered non-Igbos and their children will not be recognized by the Igbo society.
