Thanks Dear. We appreciate you here. God always blesses those who give selfless service. Your blessings come in form of goodwill. I learnt that word from my father. He rendered selfless service in his own little way. It is not an easy thing to do but it gives fulfillment when you know what you are doing makes others happy and lighten their burden.

Visa office: initially London, moved to kyiv in August.
IELTS: September 2017.
My IELTS was written once and was perfect 9,8,8,8.
Spouse IELTS 7.5,7.5,7,7
ECA: Masters Nov 2017
Entered the pool Dec.
ITA January
AOR January 17th 2018

IP2 Feb 27th 2018
Then silence. Not even a single ADR.
Ordered 1st GCMS notes April 2018 everything looked perfect.
Then complete silence.
Ordered 2nd GCMS notes July 2018, this never arrived
Wrote Raplh who confirmed Eligibility and Security not yet started.
More silence, not even a ghost update
October 3rd 2018 ordered 3rd set of GCMS notes. Arrived Nov. 1st. Still same as April notes. My file had not been touched since March 2018. Eligibility and Security not yet started.
Wrote a 3rd mail to Ralph on Nov 4th who was gracious enough to respond (Ralph responds only once). He confirmed that my eligibility and security was not yet started and my application cannot be expedited.
Nov 8th, like a dream ! my PPR!

Checked email and profile this morning and saw nothing.

By 2pm during my lunch break, I saw a mail notification, I wanted to ignore but decided to check.

I saw a mail from donotreply@cic.gc.ca that I have an update on my profile. I was excited, that finally I am getting a ghost update / adr.

I logged into my cic acct and saw my profile was updated. I was so excited, thinking it was just a ghost update and that finally my file was receiving attention. I wanted to log out but I felt the nudge to proceed and click on view complete application which I did.

Nothing seemed to have changed, my background check was still in process, I was about to log out again, when I felt that urge to scroll further down to the mail section.

I saw I had a new mail, titled request letter. I already concluded that it was an ADR for fresh bank statement. Love and behold, it was the almighty PPR.

I wasn't expecting it to come without an ADR for updated POF since my application had been pending for almost 10months. I lost appetite immediately, and was was just screaming. I couldn't share the news with my colleagues, so I just lied to them that my husband got a new job!.

I am immensely grateful to God Almighty who did not put me to shame. Delay is not denial. Though it tarries, it must surely come.

Thank you all for all the love and support.

Off to take my pictures and submit tomorrow.

This year has been so challenging. hubby and I lost our jobs, all our money tied at POF, we were feeding from Hand to mouth and struggled to pay school fees. Infact this September, we had to change their schools to a very cheap school.

God bless you all.

I don't know where to start but I will thank God first for today. All praise belong to him.
I will thank all the guys here especially those who make out time to share information on the platform. I learnt a lot here. I was encouraged by other people's struggles and stories. I also got the link that helped with our major breakthrough in the journey here. I will not say am a silent reader but when I applied to be an elder Newmum0615, Macstan, Tojued and co did not consider me. How can Newmum0615 who is my junior in Engineering faculty in UNIZIK be an elder and I will not be an elder....lol. Thanks a lot guys. The company I enjoyed here throughout the journey has been superb.

Around April last year when we thought of this journey, I was not sure we will get enough points to get ITA so we wanted to go through the study route. It was at that point that I joined Nairaland study group. I convinced my wife to take IELTS which she did and did well and we applied to a school in Nova Scotia and got admission but later my brother who lives in Canada got his PR and the prospect of getting extra 15 points shifted our attention to EE again. We took IELTS (General) together and my wife cleared the thing. She has B.A in English sha. Along the line I also confirmed from the contact I got in NTI Kaduna that people have successfully validated their PGDE with WES and that finally changed the story.

For POF we used a joint account. We also had my PFA account statement but to avoid stories that touch the heart, the money we had in the joint account covered the basic POF needed. The PFA account was just added as extra.

The major challenge we had was hussle for 2 or more certificates. That is where I will always be grateful to Nairaland. I came here and asked if anybody had evaluated the PGDE from NTI. The first time nobody responded but when I asked again, a good friend here gave me a contact tin NTI, Kaduna. Prior to that, we went to their office in the city we live and applied for the transcript but the man there did not look like somebody that knows what he is doing. We applied in December, 2017 and till about February, 2018 the request had not been sent and there was no guarantee it will be pushed. This necessitated my question here for clue which finally paid off.

For those that are still in the journey, my advise is that you should persevere. We had our moments of doubt. We spent money to get things done but at the end success makes you forget what you went through.

ALWAYS FOCUS ON THE GOAL. FORGET ALL DISTRACTIONS AND DON'T BE DISCOURAGED.

[On some issues dt has called for debate btw IDP MOD Vs BC, Personally, i feel both are very similar but one must admit the pressure is not much at MOD centres compared to BC.

On whether Nigerians are deliberately marked down especially in WRITING, I believe so because in Nigeria, u just cannot trust anybody. Common! this examiners are paid from these exams & if they passed every1 easily, these might affect their pay too. Or, are we saying Indians that has the highest number of Immigrants are better than us in English? Surprisingly, we have seen testimonies from people that sat for IELTS in foreign countries and had better result compared to when they had it here in Naija.

Finally, let no one feel he/she cannot pass IELTS, i feel the difference btw those who axed it once & we that passed after multiple attempts is d time dedication to practice & background. With constant practice, we will become familiar with all question types and best approach to tackle them. Especially Writing, u have to write at least an essay(after careful study) per day to develop d writing skills "as required by IELTS". Same goes for Listening and Reading. These I personally discovered to be d secret to my success in IELTS. I began to write 2 letters a day, 3 Listening practice on YouTube with max concentration & a Reading test each day. This really helped me in the exam cos there is hardly a question type I have nvr practiced, thus saving me huge amount of time to crosscheck my R,W & L. Above all, PRAYER IS THE MASTER KEY author=wasseynewest post=72809222]Alas!SUCCESS!!!
My people, like play like play, myself & wifey began this journey. We started with WES and IELTS simultaneously. Of course knowing fully well we needed to score d 8,777.
MAY IELTS(BC) : LRWS: 7,6,6,7 AND 7,5.5,6,7
JUNE IELTS(BC): LRWS: 7,6,6,7 AND 7.5,7,6,7
JULY IELTS(BC): LRWS: 7.5, 6.5,6,7.5 AND 8,7.5,6.5,7.5.
Around this time, d outcome of our WES came out & surprisingly, my Evaluation was 2 or more certs(HND), while wifey's B.sc was d normal B.sc. That was how we see say am more suitable as PA with anticipated CRS of 441-450 depending on IELTS. Although, I wasn't too serious with d IELTS thing initially as I knew even 6,6,6,6 would be enough for me as Sec.Applicant then.
To play it safe, I enrolled myself and wifey for a 4th IELTS(with BC) in August, our scores this time were LRWS: 8,7,6,Abs. & 8,7.5,6.5,7
I decided to call for remark for my wifeys' writing of both July & Aug hoping to at least be at 400+ if successful and jejely await nomination. Unfortunately, both EOR came out without increase. At this point, I have spent almost 1M combined, including our WES and Hotel bookings during exams.
A friend of mine introduced me to IDP MOD & I decided to register with MOD. This time i registered alone for Sept29th test. Result came out LRWS: 8,6,7,7. I was terribly downhrted cos I can't remember when last I have studied that much. I bet u there is no material I nvr used(with 85% concentration on LIZ), funnily, the reading module was my favourite cos in d practice tests I did prior to the exam I have been scoring 36&37 conveniently, even the reading module was the simplest for me during d exam & was expecting minimum of 8.5. These made me request for EOR(46K) and at the same time registered again with MOD Oct 27th exam. The EOR came out after 11days with d result unchanged. This time I have already sat for Oct27th awaiting the result. Trust me in btw there are times I felt completely drained and exhausted, I fasted & prayed and in all sincerity I cried at times.
Low & behold!! Result is out o!! LRWS: 8.5,7,7,7. Now at 444(CRS), I don siddon berekete for pool like landlord against Mon/Tuesday draw.
To all those thinking abt giving up? Abeg iffa hear?? We die there mehn!!! Cos Truth is, if my Oct 27th hadn't been fruitful, I would have enrolled for Nov10th again.
& did I hear u say "start gathering documents"(in Ifeoma's tone)?, I bet they are all almost ready.....lol
