Democracy is considered a good thing because it gives people freedom to express their ideas which in turn makes a more progressive country but there have been criticisms of democracy lots of people have stated that democracy always results in anarchy because people don't know how to use freedom with moderation

I'm looking at Nigeria and I'm just wondering

in 1960 we got democracy it took 7 years of freedom to launch Nigeria into a civil war, then we got brutal dictatorship from 1970-1999 there was a slight moment of freedom in between but it didn't last, during the dictatorships there was nothing like Boko haram tribalism was reduced Nigerians were actually united in hatred against the military

In 1999 we got democracy in 1999 we got Delta militant in 1999 we got Massob in 2000 we got Boko haram the Nigerian government is still fighting against this problems till date

Is Democracy bad for Nigeria maybe a ruthless dictatorship was our remedy maybe it was the only thing that stopped us from killing each other

Yes.
It worked under all previous Governments except Abacha and the present Government.
Democracy is Government of the people by the people for the people.
Buhari is introducing Feudalism, Arabunity and Fulani Hegemony.

No nation at war develops. We are in a cold tribal war.
The northern tribes lead buy Fulani are fighting an economic war against those with resources. No nation ever develops infrastructures during war, they can only develop weapons of mass destruction and that's what Nigeria is doing.

This explains why the military is dominated by a group of people but when army BH casualty is being counted another group liiely gets higher share. It is a form of cold war.

In case you are wondering what are these weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) are, they are policies, unions, laws, religious interpretation.

Think about federal character principle, sharia, BH, pigb, the lack of federal character principle in key sectors like defence and law arm. These are the tools of a cold war.
Think about the increased in Jamb levy that's dominated by one region and the subsidy of school lunch dominated by another region ( secret wealth transfer ). Think Mr OP. We are in a cold war and no nation in war ever develops.

Democracy, as in, rulers elected by the people to serve for a definite time, is very good for Nigeria. It allows us to chose our rulers and change them if they do not perform. The alternative is to have rulers chosen for us, and perhaps without a term. If they are chosen for us, they have no need to pander to our desires and can do whatever pleases those who do appoint them. And if for an indefinite period, we'd have to bear whatever they inflict on us till they are done. That's not to say democracy is perfect, but we at least have a say in the whole affair.

Records, by the way, would show that our brutal dictators killed too, and of massobism and boko haramism began way before independence. They just didn't have the prominence modern media allows us to have today.

Well as per DEMOCRACY as a subject analized by Henry Mencken Louis in his classic, THE DISEASE OF DEMOCRACY 1926, he wrote:

"The cure for the evils of democracy is more democracy. All this, of course, is simply rhetoric. Every time anything of the kind is tried it fails ingloriously. Nor is there any evidence that it has ever succeeded elsewhere, today or in the past. . . ."

For a good read of his classic to be fully enlightened, kindly click on this link http://www.ditext.com/mencken/democracy.html

Read with the best of your intellectual capacity. Take care and I wish you the best in life.

Nigeria doesn't need DEMOCRACY. Nigeria needs a GADDAFI .

Democracy has never worked in Nigeria since 1999.
If we are sincere in our analysis we'll discover that democracy has been a scam.

Yes and No especially now that Nigeria is experimented by Britain,
Re: Is Democracy Good For Nigeria? by Twistsss: 6:10am On Nov 10, 2018
No, democracy is not good for Nigeria. In a democratic government an election process that produces a leader is decided by the majority of electorates. This is very bad for a country like Nigeria because
1. Most Nigerians are poor and can be bought by politicians
2. Most Nigerians are blinded by tribal and religious sentiments
3. Most Nigerians are uneducated, ignorant and hence liable of making wrong decisions about the right leader for them.

Better under OBJ & GEJ. But now that Britain has given Nigeria a DOLL for a President the Task becomes very onerous. How do you destroy a DOLL that is a Constitutional President? Trump knows very well when he describes Buhari as "Lifeless". A Doll has no life. Britain is the Villain now and Kanu is such an Angel and a Patriot!!!

Which GEJ? Don't tell me u want to close your eyes to what happened during his tenure. How do u think Buhari started being this wicked? He learned from him.

Do u mean another GEJ?
Is it the one who used a commissioner to intimidate Amaechi who was the governor of Rivers then?

Or the one who supported 16 governors over 19?

Is it the one who supported 5 house of assembly members to impeach 25?

Is it the one who supported 8 members of Ekiti house of assembly to improve 17?

Is it the one who almost used police to remove Tambuwa?

Is it the one who made a civilian Fayose to control military generals?

Should I remind you about the invasion of Lagos office?

Do u want to hear more? I guess not!

Concerning OBJ, please don't let me start his own high-handedness about how he started most of the corruption issue in Nigeria.
Someone who encouraged the impeachment of state governors, caused caos in the Senate just to choose a loyalist and bribed the national assembly to alter the Constitution so he can run a third term.

History doesn't forget things bro.

Your points are clear. We want Restructuring so the States can jointly maintain the FG.
We want SPSC, State Public Service Commission for each of our 36 States to take care of Policing, Resourcing and Electioneering Business of the 36 States, thereby reversing power and control to the people.
Re: Is Democracy Good For Nigeria? by CodeTemplar: 5:58am On Nov 13, 2018
What we have in Nigeria is military dictatorial laws stamped into the constitution and maintained by those favored by it. It is a cold war democracy where policies, religious brainwash, laws etc are the weapon or weapons of mass destruction.
