But it is possible for a believer to fall into sin cos "the flesh is weak". The difference between a believer and an unbeliever is likened to the scenario of a pig and a sheep. When a pig comes in contact with mud it feels comfortably at home cos that's its nature.. When a sheep comes in contact with mud, it feels uncomfortable and until it is brought out from that condition it is restless. That isn't the nature of the sheep. alBHAGDADI: That's the terminology u decided to tag it with.. "Work based salvation" ?? Oga please don't forget...before the salvation and after the salvation...ur free will still stands... The same free will u will u use to sin before u accept Jesus is the same u will still use use to sin after salvation... The difference with after salvation is just that u have received empowerment through the holy spirit so that the voice of the spirit can overshadow the desires of the flesh...... Galatians 5v16-17 But people still allow their flesh speak volume than the voice of the spirit hence to continue to gratify it's desire....like Paul warned us in Gal .hence they go on committing sin.... Op I want to ask a question. What about the verse in the bible that says if a woman leaves her husband and marry another she commits Adultery and All adulterers will not enter into the kingdom of God another verse in the bible. Someone who married thrice and had to leave her third marriage because she left her second marriage without cause and married her university sweetheart .ln her first marriage the husband left her.but because of the above verse of the bible she left her third marriage because of fear of not making heaven,because that is what her church teach her. Are you saying she is wrong in doing that, that she can still make heaven if she stays in her third marriage,even though the bible teaches that if you leave your husband you should remain single.pls i need clarification. Funnily enough, it is the people that are in deep sin that will reject this gospel of the finished work of Christ. You'd be surprise that the "grace" preachers lives consecrated lives. But those that are sin consious, those that commit the worse sin (I know sin is sjn but permit to use this for the sake of emphasis) will reject this goodnews that their sin have been paid for once and for all. This message of grace, of once saved is forever saved isn't a license to sin (those that see it as such are just sin conscious). This message of grace is the power to live above sin. It is the power for us believers to see that we're dead to sin. And if paraventure we ever fall into sin, we shouldn't remain there cos sin isn't our nature anymore. When we fall we shouldn't see ourselves as condemned sinners cos there's therefore now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. This is what we preach.. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Perfectbeing: Don't mind them. I'm glad their attitude has given more meaning to what the Bible said that "only few people find the narrow path that leads to life". Majority believe they can save themselves but will end up in destruction. As for sin being sin, there are different levels of sin. If not, why would Jesus say those that delivered him to Pilate hath the greater sin? John 19:11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin. |

Now, you say adultery prevents one from entering the kingdom of God. Verse 9 says the unrighteous won't inherit the kingdom of God, neither will adulterers etc. But in verse 11, it says such were some of you, but ye are washed... We got washed, sanctified and justified in the name of Jesus just for believing. We are no longer the unrighteous who won't inherit the kingdom of God because of sins like adultery, fornication etc. We are no longer like them because we have been made righteous by Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. If that woman believes in Jesus in the appropriate way, she will still make heaven. But her lifestyle on earth won't be pleasing to God because she's being disobedient to her Father. Her case is a bit similar to that Samaritan woman whom Jesus met at the well. Yet he still offered to give her the water of life. Once you believe in Jesus, you already have eternal life which nothing can snatch from you. But if you live a disobedient life, God will chastise you but you will never lose your salvation. The woman might be chastise by God for adultery, but if she believes in Jesus, her eternal life is secured because that believe has made her righteous. 1 John 5:10-13 K 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. |

alBHAGDADI: Sin is sin in the sense that the person that tells a white lie is no different from the person that beheads a pregnant woman. The same judgement for a murderer is the same for that person that steals a Biro. The moment we start distinquishing small sin and big sin is the moment we will start needing Christ only when we commit the "BIG" sin. All have sinned(not the believer) and have fallen short of the glory of God. Whether the sin be lie, theft, murder etc he/she is a sinner. The wages of sin is death (roman 6:23) . This Bible text didn't tell us the type of sin that deserves death. It simple said "SIN". They're actually some moral non Christians that have never commit sin (permit me to use that) but they all sinner before God cos they haven't received the gift of God (salvation). Remember even the righteous deeds of an unbeliever is still a filty rag (sin) before God. So my brother, sin is sin... In a certain sense.. |

Sin have so much distanced man from God that even when God has come down to his (man's) level, man has rejected him. Our sin consciousness have made us feel that with just the simple move of believing in Christ we're saved once and for all. If only the devil had the slightest idea of what the death of Jesus would do for mankind, he'd have done all within his powers to stop Jesus from dying (and he'd have still failed woefully). The seal of salvation have been given to the believer and nothing, not life, nor death, nor angels, nor demon, nor sin itself can break that seal... 1 Like 1 Share |

But a practicing christian committing adultery is not in the past. Can she be justified for that.I think the provision God made for that is to confess and forsake that sin for her to have mercy and that was the reason she left the marriage. |

Please take your time to read 2Peter 2 : 1 - 22 and pray God to give you the spirit of understanding as you read that passage. daraj: If Jesus' blood could only atone for past sins then it is not so different from the blood animals used before his death.. They could only cleanse your past sins too. By the way Jesus died over 2000 years ago, since you claim his blood covers only past sins then it shouldn't be able to cover our sins of today since our sins are future sins. Since you people tend to assume that this "once saved forever saved" doctrine that we preach is a license to sin, how would you take it if people assume confession of sins is a license to sin. After all, one could just sin and then confess his or her sin and he'd be forgiven. The reason you people assume such is because of your sin consciousness. You're just too conscious of sin that you throwaway the part of the gospel we preach that says a believer is dead to sin. You only focus on the "sin" part. You keep asking, "are you now saying that..." You throw away the part where we say his sinful nature is done away with. So when he commits sin he is uncomfortable in it. He was comfortable when he steals before he was saved. Now that he's saved he feels uncomfortable cos now he's a new creature. His old self is dead. I leave you with this question. Since you claim the "once saved away saved" doctrine is a false gospel giving believers the license to sin, how come Christians who don't believe in such gospel (even preach against it) sin? alBHAGDADI: Paul mentioned in 1 Corinthians 6:9: "Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality," Here he didn't say unbelievers but the unrighteous and wrong doers.. one can believe in Christ and still be a wrongdoer/unrighteous, or don't you think so? Honestly, we shouldn't be preaching the gospel of Christ in a way that will make people be comfortable with their sinful lifestyle. Many will take your message and go ahead living in sin hoping that they are saved already and will make heaven since they already believe in Christ. Don't forget what Apostle James said in James 2:17: "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." KJV "So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead)." AMP The Bible says in 2Timothy 2:19 that God knows those who are His and let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. Again, you mentioned that those who believe and sin shall be punished here on Earth but they will still make heaven (if they don't repent of that sin before death meets them?) I agree with you that they will be punished here on Earth, but as per making heaven (if they don't repent of that sin before death meets them?), I disagree with this notion of yours. You see, the Bible even mentioned in 1Peter 3:17 "Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong!" In summary, I would rather you pray about what you have in mind and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you before preaching it. Messages like this will only make many people to just believe in Christ and still be comfortable living consciously in sin. Let people know that if they believe in Christ, they shouldn't have any pleasure in sin anymore and even when they sin, the blood of Jesus Christ is ever ready to wash them once they repent of it. Believing in Christ and living in sin with the hope of making heaven that way, my dear, I am not God nor Heaven's gate keeper, but I doubt if anyone will make Heaven that way!! If you are living such a lifestyle with the hope of making heaven because you believe in Christ, I'm asking you to repent of such, go to God in prayer, and ask for His forgiveness and saving grace. amyliajane: alBHAGDADI: Sir alBaghdadi, aren't you taking that particular Bible verse out of context? Please read from verse 1 - 11 of that same Hebrews chapter 12 for better understanding. Let me quote verse 8 of that Hebrews chapter 12, it reads, "Now if you are exempt from correction and left without discipline in which all [of God’s children] share, then you are illegitimate offspring and not true sons [at all]." Take note of the bold words all of God's children. This is something God does for all His children out of love and not to punish them for their sins. Read from verse 1-11 of Hebrews chapter 12 please. I pray the Holy Spirit guides us all and gives us understanding of His word, Amen. |

alBHAGDADI:In my observation of your posts I noticed that you, as well as many others nowadays in an attempt to debunk the popular error of "salvation by works or with a mix of works" have created another error which is sometimes referred to as "Easy Believism" (you may google that) or a salvation resulting to no works. We must understand the nature of man (sinner) and what happens to that nature when he is regenerated or at salvation. A new heart is giving him by God, he freely confesses Christ and puts his trust in Him as his Saviour. This is only by the Grace of God, and not as a result of any works he may have done or will do. Nevertheless, this man is now a new creature and just as he has formerly yielded freely to his old nature of sin to obey it's lusts, he will from then yield, again freely, to his new nature to obey God. The Bible makes it abundantly clear that though we are not saved by works, we are saved unto good works. It is true scriptures abound on the security of believers in Christ, and therefore the one who has come to put his trust in Jesus alone for salvation from sin (it's slavery and penalty) is saved eternally and can never be lost, but the nature of the true saving faith is that which lives consistently with his profession, he will not live in sin (continually as a lifestyle) and though he will sometimes sin but is brought down (by the Holy Spirit) to his knees, remorseful for his deeds, pleading for forgiveness and turning away from it. He may rise and fall but he will not live in sin, he will live unto righteousness to certain degree, he will not ultimately or finally deny christ or fall away from faith and to crown it all, he will persevere to the end and finally be saved because God alone will make him persevere. So it must not be said of those who do not persevere to the end, who at one time professed faith in Christ but later go on to live in utter wilful sin, to have lost salvation but instead, a proof that they were not saved to begin with, and that their confessions or professions at the said time were not genuine, were false and were not down to/from their hearts. There is such a "belief" in Christ or in the Gospel that does not save, such that is just merely a mental assent in the head and not from the heart. The heart must believe unto righteousness and not the head/mind. James argued against this kind of "belief" that does not prove itself to be genuine by good works in JAMES 2. Lets study and beware of this false version of eternal security. |

From his views, continuing in sin as a lifestyle for a believer may only attract punishments what he in other words called chastisement from God and that the consequences are transient or earthly but not eternal. The danger in that is that it disregards every scripture that talks about perseverance, self denial, endurance etc, through which the believer must enter Heaven. The believer while still in this world relying on God's Grace alone and by God's Grace alone must persevere, fight and must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. |
