Tgiirl:There's no pleasing them, I hardly ve minus in my account coz of the too many card trips I do. Suspending me for rejecting card is the worst excuse they can come up, because I anytime I go to pick up a rider and I hear them complain how the last driver rejected there trip because it was a card trip, I do wonder why drivers do that coz I like card trip, after the trip you won't be hearing ah bros I don't have 100 naira to complete ur money. 8 Likes |

jpworld: This is a rubbish statement! I own a Kia Rio, 2008 hatchback model, bought brand new from Dana in November 2011, and up till today, no issues whatsoever. Other than normal routine service of oil change, brake pads change, AC gas refill, I have never done any repairs on the car. In fact, I just replaced the fan / timing belt early October 2018, that’s like almost 7 years. Show me how many cars that their belts are that durable? And it was a simple fix for the mechanic. As for fuel efficiency that people usually hype corollas for, Kia Rio is even more fuel efficient. And i’m speaking from 1st hand angle, because I use both cars. There was a time in 2016, my 2004 Ford Transit van, high roof, long wheel base, with about 5000+ GVWR broke down around Ogudu, towing vans were calling high price, hmm, I just called for my Kia Rio and I towed the Ford from Ogudu to bariga and my Kia engine was up to the task. I towed another bigger car with it this year from Lekki to mainland, and no problems whatsoever. As for me, let me speak for myself, my Kia has been a very reliable workhorse. 7 years, I have never topped the coolant, no leaks in the cooling system. I only replace coolant after 3 years as a general protocol. When I bought the car, it had an electric temp gauge, you won’t see any reading at all, just the temp symbol and I wasn’t comfortable with that. I like to look at the temp reading, so that I can know when and if the car is about to overheat. But in 7 years, I have never had any overheating, not even once. My radiator fans have never failed for one day in 7 years, and it’s an intermittent fan, shuts on and off, low speed, high speed etc. Never replaced thermostat in 7 years, never replaced any fuse or relays in seven years, only changed the rear light bulbs. For 7 years, my headlights are still working well, no burn outs, even the fog light still works (unlike Corollas that die out easy, barely 2 months, my corolla fog light and full beam light is dead because i entered some flooded areas, but my Rio has been in more flood than I can count). In 7 years, all my dashboard instrument panel set still works fine, car stereo still works fine, although the CD player misbehaves sometimes. Bottom line is, among all my cars and cars that i’ve used, only the Kia Rio has lasted 7 years straight without giving me any major problems. So i’m wondering how you came up with this type of false premise about Kia Rio. Kia Rio is a car I would recommend to anybody, and I hardly recommend any car brand. If you maintain it well and drive it well, it will serve you. But if you fire down regularly anyhow, flooring your pedal to be competing with V6 and V8’s on the road, as if the Kia Rio is a Ferrari, then you will have yourself to blame. As for Uber/Taxify the only reason i chose Corolla over the Rio was because when I asked about it, the corolla engine was far cheaper to buy. But Kia is in the same league with Hyundai: costly engine. And for a car that will be driven all day, all week, all year long, better to use a car whose engine can be easily replaced without cutting my head off. Anyway, this your claim about Kia being a problematic car is false as far as I’m concerned. Like Trump would say - #FAKENEWS PS: here’s another spoiler, since January 2018, i’ve been parking my Kia Rio on the street and this is November 2018, no single case of theft or vandalism . And mind you, this is an open community on the mainland with bad boys all around, not like a restricted estate or exclusive court. Sometimes the car might not even move in 2 weeks, other than dust, nobody has interest in touching it, no missing side mirror glass or missing emblem, or missing brainbox. But my corolla, ehn, who born me well, after all the stories that touch i’ve heard online and offline? 18 Likes |

MobilityExpress: It seems you are the owner of Kia rio put up for sale? Or you want to sell your Kia rio. You bought a car brand new and use it to visit your church and other social gathering and you want to use it to compare Uber work. The only advantage Kia rio has is your last statement free from vandalism. 5 Likes |

Ogbunigwe2018: In that 7years ask him if he has driven that Kia rio up to 10k miles. Kia rio is not design for ruggedness, use it for Uber in few months the car will pack up. My gf bought it for Uber 800k and sold it to car45 for 165k 8 Likes 1 Share |

jpworld: My Kia Rio is a hatchback, not a sedan and it is NOT for sale. As for advantages over Corolla, Kia Rio is more fuel efficient than Corolla, add that to your list. And I use my Kia as a workhorse, not for leisure, like when I have to go to areas with very bad roads, flood, or traveling. But you’re right, it’s not an everyday car and I would not use it for Uber, not because it’s not reliable, no, but because the engine is quite costly when I asked around on it. But you are wrong do demonize Kia Rio as a bad car. Just because you don’t like Kia Rio doesn’t mean you should demonize it. I don’t like Corolla, but I have it. I don’t like it because it’s over-prized. I personally believe it should cost far lesser than what the market price is. But I won’t demonize it because of that. Toyota Corolla is a good car, Kia Rio is also a good car. 4 Likes |

jpworld: If Kia Rio isn’t rugged, then why is my suspension system still good? I’ve not changed lower arms, tie rods, stabilizer linkages or shock absorbers in 7 years. Mileage i think is around 50k or 60k, will check when i’m home. But (won’t mention the brand name before some uninformed people will now demonize it) my other luxury car that I occasionally drive for leisure, bought brand new too, with about the same mileage with the Kia, the suspension system is already faulty. This is a car that I drive like egg o. I just bought a new complete suspension system: tie rods, front and rear linkages, lower arms, shocks etc. Anyway, it’s not my place to recommend a car for Uber to anyone, people are free to choose whatever they want. If you don’t like Kia Rio for Uber, then that’s fine, but my only contention with you about it is demonizing the car in general as a bad car. It is not a bad car. If your girlfriend agreed to sell her Rio to cars45 for that amount, then it’s either the car was already close to a dead car or she was too desperate for money. Cars45 operates like a pawnbrokers shop, buy at freaking ridiculous prices from desperate owners and then sell the same item at higher prices to make profit. People with damaged goods won’t have a problem selling to people like Cars45, after all they came with damaged goods. But when your goods are in good condition and someone wants to pay you like 1/10th of the value and you agree to sell, then it’s either you are too desperate for cash or something is wrong with you somewhere. So just because your gf sold her Kia Rio for 165k doesn’t mean Kia Rio has useless value, nope, it just means Cars45 just ripped off another gullible owner - and paid her cash wrapped with an invisible nylon that reads “thanks for coming dummie”. A Kia Rio’s resale value is definitely not as high as a corolla, but whether that is a good thing or a bad thing depends on which side you are on. Because it’s a good thing for a buyer to buy a good Nigerian used car at a fair price, unlike corolla that only favors the seller. Buy a car for 1.5m, use it for 4 years and still sell at 1 or 1.1m. How cool is that? For the seller yes, but for the buyer, I think not. 5 Likes

toomush: Where in Lagos; Mainland or Island? Where in Ib, hope it's not Oyo town or one suburb? If it's from Mainland to 'Ibadan', like 40k-45k If from Island, like 45k upwards You may need to factor in how long you will stay in Ib ( are you coming back same day?), accommodation, etc. |

@mobilityexpress, it is the Kia Rio's from Dana motors that have expensive engines. The ones brought in from North America actually have cheaper engines. Kia Rio is very rugged. People should learn to accept other people's preferences. The guy that talked about a Kia Rio of 800k bought a lemon. 8 Likes |

Your argument is out of point.Your talking brand new when we are discussing naija used .Yes u just want to show off as buying brand new ,this is a faceless forum,u can brag and talk but we r not interested. The point remain that a Kia Rio is a scrap car and has no value. Many people hv realised it and Kia is indirectly phasing it out. Not a good market for the brand owners. MobilityExpress: |
