Good day All,

I applied for ECA with ICES. I am evaluating B.SC and MSc. I was just informed that my MSC transcript was sent to ICES on Tuesday.

Kindly confirm if ICES will notify me if they receive my transcript. I am confused and worried.

Please help. Thank you and God bless us all!
Evaluate only your MSc.

Chai.....I don miss oo.

Nay, they are not looking down on us. The government here is very supportive. There is no discrimination. There are so many government programs, grants and subsidies to assist people especially the low income earners. My sister aby na brother, if you are hardworking here in Canada, the sky will be your starting point.

God bless Canada. God bless Justin Trudeau. I love my new country, Canada. smiley kiss

We have missed you too. Thanks for this encouraging post.

Have you exhausted all option to increase your score?

What's your present score?

Stay hopeful....next draw might be significantly low because IRCCZ is unpredictable.

Do you by any chance have a post-secondary qualification that you got before the admin officer job like NCE or OND? If so, yes.
If you only had School Cert, I seriously doubt it.
Firstladyc1:
I worked 1 yr 2013-2014 as an admin officer before going back to school full time and obtaining my bsc and MSc. I would like to apply for express entry and was wondering if the 1yr work experience will qualify for job experience. Thanks

You shouldn't blame her for responding in that manner given that you've asked that same question in the past. And if You haven't gotten a favourable response since 4 months ago when you asked, why not consider other alternatives.

Send a mail to any of the evaluating bodies and explain your particular situation. I'm sure you'll get a more informed opinion from them.

All the best bro!

For ICES, I think you can do multiple applications, so just start another application for your BSC. Mind you you'll still be charged another CAD200 regardless

Let me quickly share

So if u r coming out of Lagos and u have limited time to spend like me here's how I did mine.

Ok so guys
Last flight out of base on Wednesday and last flight to base on Thursday. Aero was d cheapest 18500.. (U can check other flight. Booking ontime saves money too)
So kids missed school only one day
Divine fountain hotel is two buildings away from qlife,
book it.. I did with jumia it's cheaper( jumia had a rebate with dem or something) . Plus I still got 30% discount( blackfriday ish). So,I paid 9100 for a 30k room. ( Superior room) D receptionist was shocked when she saw my receipt. if u r going alone their junior room is 9500 on Jumia without the 30% discount.
D hotel isn't luxury o.
Anyway Since d hotel isn't far, hubby came out early to write our names... We had to be d first Abeg.
By past 10 we were done.
Went to do police report by past 11 we were done with everything.. Had time to visit and eat my mum's delicious jollof rice and plantain and still made our flight back.

We used taxify for all our Waka they give 50% off 10 rides if u use d app for d first time. Airport to vi was 1600, qlife to alagbon was 1200 ( the traffic was annoying, I think it was because it rained)

So at d end plus hotel plus taxi it still wasn't up to iom. @maplef I'm so grateful.

Hi! I'll be lying if I say I understand how you feel. Let's see how to make your next attempt your last attempt by God's grace...

1. Have a positive mindset. YOU CAN DO IT. Yes you can. It is just you and your pen and paper anyway. There's nothing to be afraid of. I know that the number of times you have attempted this may try to play in your head and tell you negative things, but BLANK it. You can do this!

2. Practice, practice, practice. Do not rush to take the next test until you are very comfortable with your scores and confident too. Also train yourself to be focused and concentrate when taking the test. Believe me, it is a skill. When practicing before the exam, make sure you do not have access to your phones or any interruption from family/colleagues. Immediately the tape starts rolling, forget about everything till you finish the test. Mark and check your mistakes by replaying that section again. Practice till you are satisfied with your progress, this is another way to boost your confidence.

3. The place of prayer cannot be over-emphasized. Pray against distraction, mind-wandering, confusion and fear.

4. In the exam hall, you have JUST 30 mins to listen and jot down. Try to focus the entire time. Act like you are in the hall alone. The best way is to be engaged with the next question immediately you have answered the previous one. That way, you are busy and there is no time to think of anything else. Immediately you miss an answer, don't spend time trying to fill it out, jot down some of the words you think you heard and MOVE TO THE NEXT QUESTION. But make sure you do not leave any blank space for any question (remember you do not miss any mark for writing the wrong answer)

5. Lastly, before you register for your next LAST attempt, take some time and cool off. Within this period, work on your confidence and take more practice tests on Youtube. I suggest one or two tests per day. Do not forget to brush up on the other three segments too. You will come back here to testify and we shall celebrate you soonest. I wish you all the best.

Hey guys,

I write this in a very sombre mood. I just received my result for my fifth ielts attempt.

L-7 R-9 W-7 S-7

It's been an excruciating experience, because just listening has been the issue. In all attempts it's been 7.5 trice and 7 twice in listening and I haven't had any issue with other modules.

I do so well while practising ahead of exam but it turns out a ghastly situation and what's more, a serious case of phobia on the test day proper.

I know few guys may have had similar experience in the past. Please, I need your counsel.

Hi shegzee43
I and my spouse who is the PA have been on this journey since late 2016. We started with WES which took us up to a year before we got the evaluation. When the evaluation came out sef, it had d wrong date of birth grin
Now this IELTS. LOL the thing has humbled us. We sef dey fear to register again but the hustle must continue. U see this PPR, WE MUST GET IT.
1st attempt: BC: LRWS- 8, 6.5, 8, 7.5
2nd attempt: BC: LRWS- 8, 6.5, 7, 7
3rd attempt: BC: LWRS- 7, 7, 7.5, 7 (at this point I was cajoling him to write because he was worried about being disappointed)
4th attempt: MOD: LWRS- 7.5, 7.5, 7, 7 omo we applied for remark oh! Hanging on to the slight hope that listening might just change but speaking changed to 7.5 so we got our 46,126 back, lol.
5th attempt: MOD: LWRS- 9, 6.5, 7.5, 7 we applied for another remark praying with all we had that writing will change. Omo when we went to pick up the trf, they said we didnt have any draft. Na him be say score no change. We opened it and my husband saw that the score didnt change and they aff chop his 46k omo he left the trf there for them grin grin grin grin
He refused to write again o. LOL. He said till January. But his birthday is in January we will be losing 5 points. When he saw CRS 449 yesterday, he told me to book him for December 1st. So the essence of this epistle is to tell you to focus on the goal. Bro or sis, abeg eye on the prize. Dont be discouraged.
This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. (Habbakuk 2:3)

Hi,

Thanks so much for your response.

Spent yesterday researching and researching.....

So, I declined our previous ITA.

With my spouse as unaccompanying, my score stands as 451, with accompanying spouse(who has no IELTS) score is 438...minus 5 points in 2 weeks.

The choice is to wait for ITA as unaccompanying spouse. After ITA, and before submission... I may be able to add spouse and add his IELTS. The points will be recalculated and IF the points are above the cut off points on date of draw, then we would still qualify.... I worry about the legality of this option...if anyone knows anything about this option I would love to hear your opinions

More straightforward option is to simply wait till hubby gets his IELTS re done and hope the score is high enough to make up for the loss of points arising from upcoming birthday.

joo2018:
Is it practical?

I am not sure you can add a new IELTS test after AOR for someone you did not fill for earlier (with non accompanying, you can't). I think your crs score will be re-calculated based on only the information submitted earlier and that will make your score drop.
