factorial1: Hmm... Let's talk about random ware. CSO online puts it this way; Ransomware is a form of malicious software (or malware) that, once it's taken over your computer, threatens you with harm, usually by denying you access to your data. The attacker demands a ransom from the victim, promising — not always truthfully — to restore access to the data upon payment. Users are shown instructions for how to pay a fee to get the decryption key. The costs can range from a few hundred dollars to thousands, payable to cybercriminals in Bitcoin. If that is the nature of the malware on your system, then your best bet is to run a good antivirus program first. After which you salvage as much important files as possible. Then perform a system restore. *Cheers* |

Hmm, I tried SpyHunter already but wouldn't even do normal cleaning unless one pays for the upgraded version. I did system reset too... I couldn't do system restore to a desired date since I never created restore point prior to that time. Maybe I will just format the system and forget my files then. Thanks, bro. Razak5: |
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by Razak5(m): 11:49am On Nov 17, 2018 |
factorial1: Yeah. A restore (if you have a restore point) will actually wipe infected files. So, in either case, you're loosing files. So if clean installation (formatting) is a last resort,... !way to go! *Cheers* |

I'm still trying to work on recovering the files. Can't afford to lose the important files, really. I can't just give up now, it's too late for that. Lol Razak5: |

one9ner: Hi. I want to believe you're upgrading from Pentium to core i3. In one word: Don't. While it's said that the system can accommodate a core i3 processor, experience (personal and from others ) show that when an i3 processor was replaced with the Pentium, the system tripped off after about 1-2 hours of operation. However, hp650 with factory fitted core i3 processor didn't give any of those issues. Needless to say, we discovered some modifications that made it different. Turns out hp 650 isn't one of the lucky guys out there that you can easily do a processor upgrade...without any gleeches!! *Cheers* |

I bought a new laptop charger on Friday and the laptop full that day. In the evening I was using the laptop and it suddenly went off. I tried to switch it but it didn't come on. Yesterday, I plugged it to power, and tried switching it on and it came on, however the battery remains at 0%, after six hours of charging. The problem is it from the charger or the battery |

good188: Hi. Intel Celeron N3050 and. N3060 processors can help you perform basic computer operations...however there's a slightly noticeable lag when it comes to watching videos or running things like Corel draw. Now, yours is Intel Celeron N2840... ... Ideal for really basic stuff. Go for it if you don't have much and you really want to work on papers, exams, a lot of typing; maybe some videos and a bit if drawing. It's not also bad if you want to do a bit of data crunching. Don't buy hoping to play FIFA, PES, God of War or GTA5 *Cheers 1 Like |

Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by Razak5(m): 9:53am On Nov 20, 2018 |
johnstar: Hello. *RAM upgrade* Up the RAM to 4GB. Usually an increase in RAM makes up for certain lags. *Defragment* Your PC may be having a hard time trying to access files because they're broken and scattered in several locations on the hard disk. This could make your system run slow. Defragmentation could be one more way to speed up computer operations. defragmentation is a process where you pull up those files together in a sing spot making hem faster to access If you're on win 7 (same as win 10, slight variations though) Right Click on the ":C" drive > Properties click on tools > "Defragment now" The disk defragmenter window opens > Click on "analyse disk" button then > this generates how fragmented the disk is in percentages > Click the defragment button. |
