35years, first month of my first employment and my first pay after seeking for job for over 7 years. Bought first car the second month and things just moved so fast that I didn't remember that I lost 7yrs on the streets. Everything the devil took from my destiny just rush back before I could open my eyes.
While on the street I got close to a million but never netted a million at hand. I was into supplies (construction) and general contracting including but not limited to digging and construction of soakaway pits. Any other job/supplies related to building. Built my first house while on the streets. In all you do just be Godly.

I really like this testimony. Yes it is a testimony, 7 years with no job and suddenly, boom! That's how God works.

Was 26.

Graduated school in 2004. Then applied for various jobs. Any that was available. I needed seed capital for my dream. I recall trekking Trans Amadi in PH dropping CVs to companies. Many oil and gas servicing firms. I even went to Primary and Secondary Schools to look for teaching jobs. Come see shakara untop my 4.01 Second Class Upper. But I couldn't be bothered. I knew I needed to get seed capital even if I wanted to start a business. Background was humble family was just managing. Wrote various tests for banks like Intercontinental, other banks, Freisland, Diageo, LNG and another one with an Oil and Gas Agency. First Job was with a bank. Old Generation Bank still existing today, as a Banking Assistant. Went to Lagos for 1 month training and posted to Aba. While in the bank in 2007, the Oil and Gas Agency called. Their recruitment took long. Left First Bank like crazy. Salary in the Bank was 59,000 back then. One of the lowest paying.

In my new job, housing allowance alone was back then was 1.6 Million annually. Salary about 200k monthly. Not to mention hazard, offshore, etc. allowances.Recall I called up my friends in the bank and jokingly told them they are all small boys.. Finances have never gone below 1 million naira. Savings alone with Work Staff Cooperative Society is about 3 million. ONE IMPORTANT THING IS I KEPT MY LIABILITIES AND EXPENSES LOW. Never believed in the ''I need to upgrade so people know I have arrived'' mentality. Acquired 4 properties. 2 Lagos and 2 back home. Built first house in Lagos. Completed and rented all flats out. I still live in a rented apartment. Money in the bank doesn't bring returns. Also there is time value of money and money depreciates. I need to transfer a lot of my finances into assets that will generate income.

Been able to develop my skill in my area of expertise and set up a consulting firm. I read, pay for courses myself. Coupled with work sponsored courses. I love to read about wealth creation and financial intelligence. I have a crazy collection of over 20 books. Kiyosaki, Trump, etc. I love watching Grant Cardone, Tai Lopez etc. on Youtube at my spare time just for encouragement. My job is still there by Gods grace. Consulting firm is growing strong. Now Consult for both Upstream and Downstream Companies. Trying my best to brand the company with a good website, good band image etc. Currently, I have the desire to open a conglomerate to diversify to various sectors. Picture Dangote Group. Called up a lawyer for advice. I intend to go into a lot of business ventures. I need daily revenue so currently planning to open a lounge/cafe/bar and plaza anywhere after Ajah Axis in Lagos. Searching for property currently. Consulting brings money but you have to chase contracts and bid etc. Plus, contracts dont come easy. Also, price war between contractors drives down profit margins a lot. Need something with daily returns so thought I should open my own Lounge/Bar/Cafe with a small plaza for sharwama etc. That is my next project. Also, intend to follow Grant Cardone's idea-''build multi-family dwelling housing instead of single units''. Intend to do this with the other land in Lagos.


ONE BIG MISTAKE I MADE WAS NOT LISTENING TO MY LATE MUM. She forces all her kids to learn a vocation/a skill. She wanted me to learn welding. I felt I was too educated for it. Perhaps by now I would have been constructing Sky scrappers and handling huge projects with my current knowledge and exposure.

Update: I made it from freelancing, Amazon publishing, Cryptocurrency trading and importation.

1st million at 21, I did after selling solar products online(konga &jumia)and offline. Will visit schools with Solar lamps( Sun King) and sell at night to small stores, the margin was great because of limited variable costs. We still sell solar product www.solartalkers.com. There quite lots of opportunities in this country. Lost quite a lot due to inexperience and trusting people but getting back on track. We are having new products you can become distributors of.

Press Press. my client been dey pay me $500 per month until one Ghanian guy tell me to ask her to open suntrust bank so we go load am,e cast then the Ghanian guy say make we collect her phone service details. I got lucky because she was using Verizon postpaid. na so we load phones,6 IPhone X. I sold one at 385,000naira. the only hurdle I get be say...when the phones reach Lagos. our custom guys say na 380,000naira I must pay to get those phones which I did after much borrow borrow. when the Verizon payment was due my client switched to AT&T.

Celebrate your first 100million naira or at the very least 10million naira.

I don't think 1million should not be celebrated given current exchange rates. We are talking about less than $3,000 here.

Interesting. Made my first million by selling a property for someone. 10% of 35million was something extraordinary.
I remember expecting the transfer to my account and when I got to the bank, the Lady checked and told me my balance was N2,000. I sat down at the bank waiting and when I met her to help me check again she almost insulted me. I believe in her mind she was like why are you disturbing me for maybe one chicken change you are expecting.
I just kept my cool and sat there for almost an hour. Then I just looked at her and I guess she just decided to help me check again and the next thing I knew, she walked up to me and said sir its like your account has been credited.
From that moment she was just calling me sir and she offered that I upgrade my account from a savings to a current account and also open a business account.
My shakara that day was the bomb.

I made my first millions selling latex to the oil and gas sector at the age of 31. I just woke up one day, thought of what to do to make some money as I was tired of saying 'yes sir' to my employers. I've been making millions working for them but I needed to start making same, working for myself. I started with a proposal to their headquarters in lagos. I was asked to drop samples which I did, then the rest was history. I expanded the supply to pharmacy stores nationwide. As the business was threatened by nafdac on registration with politics from above by somebody who showed interest, I was pulling back gradually. I later entered the health sector with the sale of medical consumables and later major medical equipment from CT to USS, Digital X-ray, equipping hospitals, etc. I became famous in less than 10 years of doing business and recognised by the USA president. I had dined and wined with world leaders, including Barak Obama. I'm meeting Tony Blair in a global entrepreneurs' gathering soon in Washington DC.

Right now, we're planning to start manufacturing of medical equipment , the first of its kind on the African soil. It's a multi million dollar project. The facility constriction is already ongoing , somewhere in ogun state. I wish all the vibrant and upcoming entrepreneurs on this thread the very best. made my first 200k last year and i almost ran mad. since then i have been trying to get a million naira but i am so family oriented that i like taking care of my family even at my own expense. i will be graduating next year and i want to go into Oil and Gas sector. i want to learn anything there but the companies for such are not located near me.
Aside this i am open to learning any side hustles...I must admit one thing, Money brings confidence ooooooo, no matter how small it is.
