What we don't understand in Akwa Ibom State is that Senator Akpabio is not a true Akwa Ibomite and he was only adopted by the step-father. History has it that he is from Igbo origin that is why he's formenting the crisis in the State that he served for sixteen years. The gods in the land will angry with him and his cohorts that trying to put the State into security threat.

The so-called Assemblyman went to court by himself and the judgement did not favour him and he came back to forment trouble ? He must be arrested as a security threat to peace in the State.

Earlier today, the State Chapter of the PDP had issued a statement, based on intelligence report, that there were plans by the APC to use thugs and cause a breach of peace, thereby stalling proceedings at the chambers.

Gov Udom Emmanuel on his part has repeatedly warned politicians against violence, maintaining that nothing short of peace and unity is needed to move Akwa Ibom forward, irrespective of political affiliations or aspirations.

It would be recalled that the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Barr. Onofiok Luke had last week acted in accordance with the judgement of the Federal High Court, which vacated the seat of the former Itu Assemblyman for cross carpeting to another political party without any tangible reason.

Some anti riot policemen who arrived the scene moments ago, are yet to bring the situation under control.

I'm ashamed of Akpabio , I used to admire him but I don't like the way he is going about the whole thing. Udom is going to win next year and it's going to be the end of Akpabio's political career. You see, the worry is not getting people to vote, the bigger problem is defending votes. I still say it, APC is ready to dive into the lowest, deepest of the antics to manipulate elections. If it will require deploying the entire police force all round the 36 states, they will. If police aint enough, they will deploy all the armed forces. Guy,apc do not actually rig elections and even if they rig,it's not with security forces.the only thing they can do with security is to coerce people to vote apc or scare pdp voters away.atiku has no chance against buhari.even in ss/see where pdp dominates,pdp will meet heavy resistance so that when they win,it will be phyrrhic and irrelevant.you can see it manifesting already.but in states like Kano,kebbi,apc will be having a free ride with no opposition.the time of pdp is over

Akpabio became governor in 2007, prior to then, the state was a violence ridden state. Akpabio stopped the violence and made the state known for peace and beauty.

His only mistake was installing Udom Emmanuel after him against the wish of majority of the stakeholders. It was a terrible decision most governors make.

Now Udom Emmanuel no longer wants to play sitting duck, while Akpabio is playing eagle just like Ganduje vs Kwankwaso. This is just the recipe for violence that once held sway. The state shall surely sink into violence.

Their peace was temporary because Akpabio had complete control. Thats not the case now.
