I have 100,000 to invest in MMF but I'm currently in a dilemma. Should i use IBTC or Axa Mansard?

Registered. Thanks. How do I calculate my interest rate of 12.16? I read its an annual payment. Also, how do I view my daily growth (interest)?

1. First, the interest rate is not constant. It may be higher or lower depending on the fund managers' investments.

12.16% is for 365 days/1 year
Your interest for one day is going to be 12.16/365 = 0.033%
Since you started with 100,000 you should expect 100,000 * 0.033/100 = 33naira. Thus, you should expect about 33 naira everyday at the current rate of 12.16%. If the rates go up, you will get more, if the rates go down, you will get less.

2. Log into your account, select investments... scroll to the bottom till you see fund summary and select AXA Mansard Money Market Fund. Scroll again and you will see your accrued interest.

I have been able to see my interest computation for ARM now. But I really think that it's either they are not giving me up to 12% or the number of days have been reduced.

Depends on how you intend to run the MMF, would you be reinvesting monthly for that 10 year period or you just want to put in the 500k once and let it stay for 10 years

If you put in 500k once and leave it for 10years without monthly reinvesting at the end of 10years , going by an investment calculator, at interest rate of 11% you will get 1,494,575

But if you instead decide to make an initial deposit of 500k and you reinvest 20k everymonth for 10 years at 11% interest rate you will get #5,874,321 after 10years

Leaving this same amount for 20 years with monthly reinvestment of 20k will give you #21,938,969

The longer you invest, the higher the yield , rich people invest for the long term

Warren buffet didn’t become rich until he was 60 years old
what do you mean by reinvest? Does it mean topping with 20k every month?

Hello Nairalanders, I'm a graduate that needs help to survive. Please I need a tricycle (Keke Napep) on hire purchase. I'm willing to use my B.Sc and NYSC certificates as collateral. I'm in Lagos State but I'm willing to relocate if there's need for it. I can be reached via the number and whatsapp link on my signature.

You can do up to 2.5m if you increase your online redemption limit. You can gift your mutual funds to someone else.

I am going to call their customer care to confirm some things this morning. Whatever my findings are I will post, because truth be told their rate is becoming too low while others are high. There has to be a reason for that, except stanbic is shaving out more % as their profits, this could be one of the reasons they were more profitable this year, at our own detriment? I will do my research and post my findings. grin

Hello guys,

I have a considerable amount of my funds with Stanbic MMF. I want to diversify a bit.... Does anyone here run the Guaranteed Investment Fund? Does it have higher yield than MMF. It sounds attractive from what I have read on their website, but I'd like a real comparison from someone who run both packages.

I did some research on this, and Stanbic GIF is actually quite okay. They made a return of over 73% in 5 years. I feel it has a long term feel to it too. If you need a 25% exposure to equity, and your money is guaranteed after 3 months.

So guys I did some research on the Stanbic MMF and I feel it's not transparent enough. Will be posting my findings soon...
