The Strategic Partnership Scholarship

The Strategic Partnership Scholarship was developed to
improve the Funds’ Overseas Scholarship Scheme by
offering candidates the opportunity to benefit from a
diversified pool of knowledge and the facilities offered by
world-class institutions across the globe.
In recognition of the fact that the best education can be
found on numerous shores, the Fund has sought out
strategic partnerships in UK, France and Germany.

Required Documents

Applicants are advised to scan copies of the following documents and attach to their online application forms:

First Degree Certificate or Statement of Result
NYSC discharge certificate
WAEC/GCE/SSCE/NECO results as well as the PIN numbers on the application forms to enable PTDF view the O’level results on the relevant website).
Recent Passport Photograph
Local Government Identification Letter
Master’s Degree Certificate (PhD Applicants only)
Evidence of membership of professional associations

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Ongoing PhD Candidates could only apply provided their Universities are among the PTDF Partnership Universities as listed above;
Candidates who have benefitted from any of the PTDF scholarships in the past cannot apply for the same type of programme, except a higher programme

Requirements

MSc

1. A minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1)
qualification in their first degree or a Second Class
Lower (2.2) with relevant industry experience
2. Must have completed the mandatory National
Youth Service (NYSC)
3. Must be computer literate
4. Possession of 5 O/level credits including English
Language.

PhD

1. Must have completed the mandatory National
Youth Service (NYSC)
2. Must be computer literate
3. A minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2) in their
first degree and a good second degree certificate;
4. Must submit a research proposal relevant to the oil
and gas industry (of not more than 5 pages) to
include: Topic, introduction, objective,
methodology and mode of data collection;
5. Applicants must also include their masters degree
project

December 31st, 2019 at 12 midnight

UPDATED: IMPORTANT NOTE ON THE 2019/2020 PTDF OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIP IN UK, FRANCE AND GERMANY

1. Deadline of application is December 31st, 2018

2. Candidates with minimum of 2.2 in a related discipline can apply for MSc

3. Candidates with minimum of 2.2 in their BSc and Merit i.e PhD grade in their MSc can apply for PhD.

4.Candidates may select up to 3 different courses (1st,2nd and 3rd choice) in any country or university, but are not to contact the schools directly for admissions as they will be placed in relevant universities by the PTDF. It might be best to choose three different countries

5. Candidates who successfully scale through the first round of
screening will be requested to submit their transcripts; all
applicants are therefore advised to prepare their transcripts
for submission in anticipation of such a request.

6. Uploading of admission letter in the application is not compulsory

7. In the application, PIN means your WAEC, NECO, NABTEB e.t.c registration/candiate number/examination number. You are not required to buy scratch card pin.

8. If you are doing NYSC, upload your posting letter in lieu of NYSC certificate. Last year, some guys serving won the scholarship.

10. If your first degree course is not there, check for related courses. Medical related courses such as MBBS, Biochemistry, Microbiology e.t.c can apply for masters in Public health, HSE, biotechnology.

No. The pay differs. UK scholars earns higher for both the MSc and PhD categories. Still you need to factor in the cost of living in these countries.
In context, the pay is in ratio UK>France>Germany.

No support for spouse anymore. But you can go with your spouse at your own expense

You are expected to apply to DAAD. Applications can be done online, however there are documents which you must upload. check out www.daad.de/en for more information

You have to look for a way to get the transcript by hand because you need it both for application, for interview (if called) and for subsequent registrations.
You just have to have it.
