Biakwa: Haaa my brother, I won't talk O! The insults I received alone recently from some kids in one Investment thread for saying fact without insulting anyone, are enough for me. As a matter of fact, one of two Nairalanders that I met on nairaland here, that I assisted through God to come Ireland was disappointed seeing me replying some kids insulting me instead of ignoring them. No be me downgrade myself? Let whoever wish to go Ireland decide that on their own. No be by force to come Ireland..after all it's a choice. What really matters is that you do what you think is right for yourself, what you believe in. Just pick a goal, a goal you truly want to achieve. As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live. 5 Likes |

Haleemat90: The last appeal I treated was for my father in-law and it was successful, the Embassy of Ireland rang me from Abuja then asking me some questions and a day after they asked him to forward his passport to them for his visa. I am currently in the process of renewing his visa, I will update on my Irish Visit Tourist visa thread here https://www.nairaland.com/1067797/general-irish-visit-tourist-visa/7 and probably on ICaSNg's Irish Student visa thread here https://www.nairaland.com/4056995/general-irish-student-visa-work |

dotcomnamename: I respect your opinion, and I will be amongst the last person to insult you in anyway, unless you probably instigated or initiated it, and on the topic, people took it the wrong way, I solely blame my tune and phrases, I was just being a bit excessive in some points. We have definitely met in a couple of other threads pertaining to Ireland, politics or sports, and you have personally provided me with some information about something related to Ireland when I needed it, thanks once again for your kind inputs, and literally creating one of the first thread about travelling to Ireland here on nairaland. Much respect sir PS, I am no kid though 10 Likes |

Mcowubaba: God bless you my broda. You are not a kid at all and I know that based on our previous conversation. As per Ireland, I have decided to hands up on that except general inquiry on those two threads.. It's good to always help the needy. Aside that, I believe life is not just to be successful and wealthy. But to impact into the lives of others whether big or small. In the life of a human being, there is a period of ignorance including myself and that's the reality. I'm against rude, obnoxious and arrogant individuals especially on this nairaland who got no respect for other people's opinion, if you don't agree with their views the insults start raining. Isn't our responsibility as an individual to be responsible online? For instance now, whether the content of this thread is fact, opinion or whatever, we can disagree to agree politely with happiness not insult, but does it warrant insult at all? No! That's the state of mind of some people on nairaland and that's why I don't go beyond my boundary again O! Do have a good night bro! 8 Likes 1 Share |

Mille: That's how Canada exposed me to many opportunities in Nigeria. I left nigeria in 2014 with the mentality of living big abroad as if everything is easy over there which i ended up working my ass off with pay cheque which is not even enough to live good. Fast forward to 2016 I sat myself down and think deeply cos I got a lot of dependant which canada situation can't help or else I will end up ignoring my dependants by not not letting them to know my contacts again. Here we go April 2016 I decided to leave Canada to Nigeria cos I have a lot of business idea, thou right from the beginning business is in my blood. When I decided to leave i inform my family about it my brothers, sisters, mom and my friends were all scared and wonder how can I decided such a silly thing to come back to nija. Sometimes self decision is the best. I kept mute I didn't listen until I carried out my plan, booked a one way ticket to nija, landed and the hustle started. Everybody are looking at me like let's see what will end u in Nigeria. I dont know Why we Nigerians lose hope on our country as if these western world are paradise? I went back to my business I was doing before I left for canada which is agriculture. I put some money I managed to save on it. Upgrade myself by advertising my products online, travelling around, visiting big big farms for sales cos I'm into poultry and I also sell foreign feed additives such as feed proteins and amino-acids. These business I have been doing before I left for canada but the mentality of travelling out for greener pasture has eat deep in me, then I didn't work too smart cos I believe abroad is the only option to success. To cut the long story short I'm now a owner of a company. We sale imported feed additives in case a farmer might be interested in buying. Till today Canada door is still opened for me. I was there 2 times this year, planning to go again next March thou for visiting online. All my write up is all true cos I know some might want to quote me wrong. I swear Some might wonder how come all these happen in 2yrs yes it's God's grace and focus. Funny enough, a lot of people didn't believe all these till today, some believe I'm into Yahoo thing and even sarz always stop me while driving but when they see evidence they free me cos I'm just 29yrs still very young for face. I swear with my life I have never try that Yahoo Yahoo thing or ritual in my life. God is my witness. @mile Nigeria is the best if you have a very good business idea and fund to finance it. I will never advice who's going for greener pasture abroad not to do it cos not everybody got business idea and everybody can't be a boss. Some will live all their life on pay cheque while some is destined to be d boss. That's life. I just joined nairaland cos if catch my attention especially this thread. One love 26 Likes 1 Share |

rgjs: Exactly, for instance, read oluayebenz encounter in Canada and where he is today, then read this "NERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by partnerus: 3:32pm On Nov 15 Congratulations to all those that have been granted their visa. However, I deem it fit to give word of advise. Nigeria's image here in Ireland is seriously battered. All thanks to few cladenstine Nigerians who have made it a choice to do illegal acts here capable of denting our image. That been said, I also want to thank particularly Nigerians with student visas here. They have portrayed themselves in positive light and this to me, is a positive step in the right direction towards redressing the severely dented image of Nigeria as a country. In same vein, I wish to humbly appeal to my Nigerian compatriots planning to come down here for schooling or whatever purpose best known to them. There are lots of opportunities here. You can make it big if you work hard and be consistent in whatever legitimate endeavour you choose to embark on. The reason is Euro is high if converted to our local naira and I am using myself as case study. With your little hustle, it's worth reasonable amount when you send back home and you won't believe what you are able to save within a reasonable time at home even while schooling here. Crime doesn't pay. Please shun acts capable of destroying our smeared image the more. Stay positive and strong even when faced with racist acts. I say this cause you definitely will experience it here. That one is certain but the truth is, don't let it deter you from forging ahead. Say to yourself, 'I can make it no matter what' . If possible, say this to yourself everyday. It will get you encouraged. Please desist from credit card scam, drug smuggling and other acts which Nigerians are infamously known for here. It pains me at work my colleagues remember me that on daily basis about the ill things which Nigerians are wrongly known for here. Pride yourself in your humble begining. For those genuine serious minded students coming to ireland, I can volunteer to answer questions in respect to work here but seriously, there are lots of jobs here for students. Please always remember where you come from. If possible take pictures of loved ones with you back home and then position it by your bedside when you get here. That will serve as a constant reminder that your people back home are waiting for you. Don't join gangs here of do what we Nigerians call 'follow follow'. There is life here and if you aren't focussed, you will loose out. Please Ireland isn't our home, Nigeria is. Always have it at the back of your mind that you will retire back home someday. I will also advise that those that have been granted visa can come in groups by boarding same flight and booking for accommodation in any of the hostels. That way, you get to exchange ideas and reduce cost to the bearest minimum and above all, stay safe and strong as first timer. I am saying from experience. I came here all alone and it wasn't funny in the first two weeks for me. God bless the Nigerian guy I met in the hostel who holds a stamp 4 visa. He was more than a brother to me. But I am not saying you should trust everyone you meet easily but the truth is, there are still some exceptionally good Nigerians out there even on foreign soil. Despite my busy schedule with school assignments and work, I have decided to respond to as much questions as I can as a give back to fellow nigerians planning to come here for study purpose. Guys over here helped me with information earlier this year while I was still in Lagos too and so I feel it's time to reciprocate same gesture. But be reminded that my responses are entirely my own opinion. Once again, stay positive and strong. I salute all!!!" Can you see now? .. For instance I have friends that moved from Canada and Sweden to Ireland, I have friends that moved from Ireland to Canada and New Zealand. Can we now see that fingers are not equal? What work for Mr A might not work for Mr B, coupled with the fact that it's about choice, determination and grace of God. That's why I said what really matters is that you do what you think is right for yourself, what you believe in. Just pick a goal, a goal you truly want to achieve. As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live. 19 Likes 1 Share |

This is a really enlightening thread, I must confess. I have emigration as a solid plan B, but the aim is to further my education and gain international exposure and network, and not necessarily for greener pastures. I have Canada as a plan A, but recently began considering Ireland as a plan B because of the hassles getting a Canadian student visa. But I have always had my reservations about Ireland. The cost of education (especially post-graduate) is really on the high side, plus most of the programs are just for a year after which they slam you with a 2-year work permit. I feel they are just interested in our 10k+ tuition fees, give us the education sharp sharp and push us into the system to get caught in the rat race of doing barely sustainable jobs to keep paying bills. I do not, in anyway, fault their system or disbelieve the truth in starting small. I am still keeping to my plans, but now I know just what to expect when I get over there. 9 Likes 1 Share |

TheCongo2: I'm making an assumption -- a near assertion -- a suspicion as confirmed by many similar cases here on Nairaland, that people claim to have friends who did this and that, when in most cases, these are people they barely know-- stories they barely have verifiable details of -- just merely what they heard from A or B. For example, I know a girl who graduated from a college here in the US, then, moved briefly to Nigeria, and then, to Ireland where she currently resides. However, I wouldn't claim that she is my friend, or that I have verifiable details of the circumstances that necessitated such moves. Many, on here, in my situation, would say, I have a friend who moved from the US to Ireland for so and so reasons. This is often misleading. 4 Likes |

Opps reverse is the case. I can understand but sometimes when we are frustrated about life we start digging for unnecessary issues where there is none. How stupidity combined with pride, ego and arrogance can destroy. Be the reason someone smiles. Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody. Find joy in the ordinary. Choose kindness. 4 Likes |

oluayebenz: People who are used to conflict or who grew up in dysfunction many times instigate trouble because then THEY are in control. They know it's going to happen eventually, so instead of walking on eggshells waiting for the storm to hit, they create drama. Hi everyone, should you need any assistance as regards admissions, visa counseling, accomodation and such, in/to Ireland or the UK, I could be of assistance, pls only serious applicants as I get a lot of messages from people who have no intentions of applying, Some people be asking me questions like can you guarantee me visa..( understand that it is at the discretion of the VO to issue or refuse one a visa).. Just do a proper documentation, follow all necessary instructions and protocol and then leave the rest to God.. Wish you all success... 1 Like |
