What about hire purchase?

Stealth100:
Owning and driving your car is the only model that makes sense in e-hailing. This rental we do is a facade. You might not agree now, but eventually you will.

I have had 3 drivers now, and apart from the 1st, the others have been disaster.

They keep complaining about the car although it was good when i gave it to them. They have a million reasons why they wont pay the weekly money. Theh would not even call if i dont.

It has been a bad xperience.

What kind of car is it?
I need a car to drive and I don't cheat owners?

Why is it difficult to run this uber business thingy in Naija??

In fact, i think the real question is: why are Nigerian drivers(the ones i have dealt with) such ungrateful and untrustworthy chaps.

We cant we just invest and recorp in peace?

Does anybody still think this Uber thing is worth it??

The business is good just the bad guys. Pls kindly give me chance.

Loving you boss... Dats d spirit, truth b told the business is flopping, I guess excessive puttin of cars by partner is one of d reason, supply over demand is already shifting the market to disequilibrium. My advice to partner think well or u will end up selling ur cars far below cost price.

Office Location: 3-9 Olu Koleosho Street, Off Medical Road, Ikeja, Lagos

WHY DOES YOUR CAR NEED MYMOTO TRACKER

(1) Security: While anti-theft systems like push-buttons before car start, gear lock, pedal locks etc… are good, ONLY A TRACKING SYSTEM LIKE OURS ALLOWS YOU TO RECOVER (AND ALSO PROTECT) YOUR VEHICLE IF YOUR CAR IS HIJACKED FROM YOU WHILE DRIVING. Our trackers are both anti-theft and recovery in nature. e.g. You should shutdown your car before you sleep at night or park in a public space. Whenever you need to start the car, you enable it also.

(2) Remote Monitoring: GPS Security trackers allows you to monitor your vehicle location remotely from your phone. You are able to view your car’s location in real time (from our IOS/ANDROID APPS).

(3) Vehicle History: Through our online platform (IOS/ANDROID APPS) , you can view where your car had been between DAY X and DAY Y. A plot is shown on a map showing your car’s movement over this period of time.

(4) Remotely Stop Your Car: With our security GPS tracker, you are able to stop your car from ANY PHONE with an sms command. This function can also be carried out through our online platforms.

(5) Geo-Fencing Alarm:If your car goes beyond set a radius (or multi-point), say Lagos, you will be notified by sms.

(6) Other alarms (Over-speed Alarm, Ignition On Alarm, Low Battery Alarm ): Over-speed alarms notifies you via sms when your car goes beyond a particular speed. Ignition on notifies you WHENEVER your car is started. Low Battery Alarm lets you know when your car battery is low.

(7) Daily Mileage report (online platform): Daily mileage report shows you a daily chart (in KM) of your car.

We have heard of one or two expereience of how clients were able to recover their vehicles BECAUSE THEY HAD A TRACKER INSTALLED IN IT. We will be sharing some of them with you based on TRUE LIFE EXPERIENCES.

If you have had personal experiences also, kindly share with us.

WE STILL INSTALL THE MOST AFFORDABLE TRACKERS AROUND STARTING FROM 25K (VARIES WITH CAR MODEL).

CONTACT US ON 09032614208 OR 08060675824. More details on tracker: https://mymoto.com.ng/why-you-should-install-the-mymoto-security-tracker/

WE ARE THE ONLY COMPANY THAT OFFERS FREE LIFETIME ACCESS TO OUR ONLINE PLATFORMS FOR MONITORING/STOPpING YOUR CAR.

YOU'VE SPENT QUITE MUCH TO ACQUIRE YOUR CAR, SECURE IT WITH A TRACKER. BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY

Story 1
During one of our installs, the client shared with us how Mr Ayo (not his real name) borrowed his brothers car, and waylaid in the night somewhere in Lagos. Unknown to the thieves, the car had a tracker in it. That same night they tracked the vehicle to a military baracks (apparenntly the thieves had accomplices with military connections). They went with the police and they were able to recover the car (THE DEMOBILIZE FUNCTION OF THE TRACKER WAS USED TO ENSURE THE CAR DID NOT MOVE UNTIL THEY GOT TO THAT LOCATION)...

Story 2
Mr Bayo was bout entering his car in the night somewhere in Lagos when he was attacked. He immediately used his phone to demobilize the car some minutes after they had zoomed away with the car. The thieves ran away when they discovered the car wasn't strating again. The car was tracked to Ajah. Apparently the thieves ran away in fear with the keys of the car grin

An average Nigerian mentality " everybody wants to do uber business because there is money in it. They forget that for every business venture there are challenges that comes with it. If they are not able to summount d challenges, they chicken out. No doubt the business is getting saturated everyday. Those who will make money will always make money regardless of any situation. My candid advice to potential investors is to know what they are dabbling into before commiting their time and resources. Lagos state has a population 20 million people. Transportation is a necessity. People must locomote from one place to another for their daily endeavours. I see more people embracing ehailing. The market hasn't gotten to that point of disequilibrium yet. Supply hasn't surpass demand. Ehailing companies needs to sensitize more people to use E-taxi by introducing incentives. Out of 20 million people in Lagos. Only 2-5 percent of population uses taxify and uber. We still have a long way to go.

In the next 10 years, 90% of ehailing drivers will own their cars.
Chucsmoore, digest my comment very well. I never said drivers need to work for 10 years to have their own cars. When ehailing first started you hardly see a car owner driving but now around 50% of the drivers are car owners and this pace is increasing on daily basis. In years to come most drivers will be driving their own cars.
I also started this work 2 years as a driver driving for someone but its another story today. I will repeat this, the weekly rental with drop as low as 15k. Then all those claiming big madam will start driving their own car or abandon the business.

How many people in lagos have nothing to do with the situation out dia. Night trip is the best, free road, less app on, until you took a trip you can't equate your life with (In fact there should b odd hours rate in this business,). Need u know, yellow buses make much money compare to uber/taxify business, if only they can tackle the agberos problem. In dis business some days are good and some comes bad, if you are into any business and you can't put a day or two out for rest then one health and life span is dancing one corner. Now, if you work for 6 days as driver and you can't make 10k each in those days... Story most hit partner, even 60k a week is going to leave the driver with nothing. The insights are deep and mind, I owe my car.

Nice. why the stress on in your name?

secondly so I Wanted Axamansard to insure my 3-year old 2010 Camry. They have 2 types of Comprehensive; Auto Classic and Auto Plus. So i chose Auto Classic with excess buyback everything at 4.15% . So They valued my 2010 Camry that i have used for 3 years at N3,850,000:00. I dont know why they would value my car that high. My premium is 160k and on autoplus 183k..

I skipped this.

When there is a claim, you want to be in control of payments made. E.g if on H.P and vehicle is totaled after 6months of use and owner is able to retrieve 90per of the value of his vehicle, the crooked ones would want to discontinue the H.P plan and chop the payment.

Nice one, but if supply is not more then demand, why are drivers complaining of low request? I guess positioning abi? Why do taxify always remind drivers of presumed ending of the month traffic? Transportation is just like food and its a necessity, but mind u, there are alternatives. In this business there use to be a time back to back is certain and one can't make below 15k, no matter how bad the day goes... Let's face reality what happened to the constant pasting and money challenge the platform used to witness? Just pray gokada won't do more damage with time and better start creating exit strategic

@bolded, slightly wrong. When it started, drivers were mostly car owners - days when clean 2010 camrys, accords, Lexus es350s with clean and very well spoken drivers would come pick you up. I work in IT, followed Uber launch in Lagos, and started using them the very first week.

Absolutely correct, as a rider back then , you hardly see any vehicle less than 2010, corolla 03-07? I don't think I ever entered a corolla the first few times I used uber back then, uber themselves killed the business by slashing prices and allowing older vehicles onboard. I just wish they can bring back "uber black".

Rental will never drop that low. The average price of an Ehailing car (2nd hand value) is about 700k owners will rather sell and focus on other opportunities than collect 15k.

in January 2018 there was a flood of investors.

in January 2019 there will be a great pull out of investors.

That's the story u can tell the less entrepreneural buddies and not us who are practising It in the real world. It's called mind game. Financial knowledge without a well balanced account is like dreaming on bicycle.Your enjoying uber today ,imagining their huge profit is cos they invested huge funds. Every business needs that finance and not just knowledge to grow it .if for financial knowledge, many young guys u see driving uber won't be doing.
