tbaba1234:Ok. Thanks. The generality have agreed we discuss here. Next, the list of award Categories. So as not to prolong matters, I have here a list of categories. Members of committee can also add theirs. But we should try not to make the list too long so as not to make voting difficult or combasome for people. Adjustments can also be made on the list below: 1. Nigerian Player of the Year 2. Nigerian Home based player of the Year 3. Most impactful New Inclusion (2018) 4. Best Goalkeeper (Vincent Enyeama award) 5. Best Defender (Stephen Keshi award) 6. Best Midfielder (Jay-jay Okocha award) 7. Best Attacker (Rashidi Yekini award) 8. Young player of the year (for players 21yrs and less) 9. Super Falcons player of the year 10. Super Eagles Goal of the year. cc: Tbaba1234, Forgiveness, Komekn, TheSuperNerd, ChrisKels and Joebie. Committee members who make any contributions should copy all other members. NOTE: HOUSE, THIS IS A DISCUSSION STRICTLY FOR THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS AS LISTED ABOVE. THANKS FOR UNDERSTANDING. 1 Like |

Forgiveness, Komekn and I prefer it here. Joebie and TheSuperNerd prefer a separate thread. Tbaba's landing is to go with whatever we generally decide. It was at that point 3 against 2 and so we go with having it here. We have to make progress on that as we have spent 2 days already taking that decision. Nothing wrong having it here so peeps can see the selection process and so not to cry fowl when the list of nominees is it. But remember no contributions from none committee members. It is that easy. Besides, creating another thread will give room for Intruders, who do not know what this is all about, to evade the thread and possibly cause distractions. But we here know the rules alreeady and will more easily abide by it. 1 Like |

Onyekuru really needs to work hard and take his chances. We can only take 7 forwards to AFCON.Bar injury Kalu and Chukwueze for the RW,Osimhen , Success and Ighalo for CF,Moses Simon(as Rohr may choose to compensate him for missing the WC) and Musa for LW. Midfield:Ndidi,Etebo, Ogu,Agu,Mikel, Iwobi. In the middle it's looking like Iheanacho might be sacrificed. Defence:Balogun,Ekoong,Ajayi,Omeruo, Aina , Collins and Shehu. Ebuehi might be sacrificed here due to injury. GKs:Uzoho,Ezenwa and Akpeyi. 1 Like |

Utonwanne: That's the depth of his versatility as well as during the game Fulham can be quite fluid and not rigid with interchanging of positional play. But that not withstanding his primary position was still LB. Again not surprising in the modern game the LB position has become LWB that's why they are so interchangeable. It's impossible to downplay. I was initially skeptical, I mean he was 16 and playing first team football regularly and first choice. I thought it was initial hype. But two whole seasons later now in his third season but playing in the EPL. What's shocking He is still only 18. It's no longer hype but fact, proven, Tested and established HUGE TALENT. 1 Like |

It looks more like a 3-3 result. Because tbaba said a new thread might be best. Even I will support whatever we decide. We are not in a hurry. November is not even over yet. We have to look credible in every step of this so the process is not rubbished. Why don’t we wait for Chriskels to break the tie? Modified New intruders will not be a problem because they can be easily ignored. We will post the link of the new thread here so other monikers can always check. There is no secrecy. But either way is fine by me. Let Chriskels make a pick Modified 2 If we finally decide on creating a new thread I would want to suggest we give it a deceptive title. At least that will check the issue of intruders for those who have that concern. Icon4s: 1 Like |

I am with Joebie on waiting for Chriskels to break the tie as he is also part of the Committee. I trust he will show up whenever he can and soon before the year runs out. Meanwhile, I suggest a few more categories like: - Super Eagles Top scorer of the year (That should be distinct from Best Attacker/Best Forward award because in best attacker we look at an attacker's showing across the entire year and not just in a game or two. And sometimes, such player may not be top scorer. We need to recognise the top scorer too because it is not easy putting the ball in the back of the net). - Super Eagles Top Assists leader of the year (We must recognise the player or players involved the most in laying/putting the ball on a platter for others to score). - Super Falcons Goal of the year (We cannot restrict this award to the men alone. The ladies do score worldies too. They score goals or don't they?) - Super Eagles most improved player of 2018 (This is to reward quantum leaps in improvements of certain talents in the team over the course of the year). - Now the young player of the year is for players 21yrs and under... But what of the Super Eagles best new entrant of the year? Just saying. (modified: I can see that you added it in Number 3... Well done!). Okay, so these are the few additions I think should be considered too. If I remember any other relevant catergory, I will try bring it up on time. Shalom... ![]() Icon4s: 2 Likes |

Icon4s: I would like two other awards. 1. Most unrecognised but highest potential top player (home based) 2. Most unrecognised but highest top quality potential (Foreign based) There is great satisfaction to bring to the limelight top quality players who have never been noticed. I truly believe that there must be gems in the local league with great potential. But considering our cultural dynamics across all sectors. Godfatherism, inducement, tribalism, etc we never get to hear of them. BascoVanVeli I'm sure will attest to this. 4 Likes |

Let's wait see for the next couple of days. For the award categories I suggest we also wait until ChrisKels shows up for us to continue deliberations on that. modified: ChrisKels just showed up! |

Already liking your forecast but then the Afcon is about 6-7 months away. But based on the what we think gonna happen then yeah, you have most of your predictions pretty correct at this point in time. But let me chip in a few things: 1. The Goalkeeping role looks certain and settled with those three but maybe... Just maybe a discovery may gatecrash the team. Six to seven months is a long time to still have another face pop up out of virtually no where and that may leave us a choice to make. Dropping one of Ezenwa or Akpeyi. 2. The defence is likely to be Eight and not seven. And there is no way an Ebuehi will miss the Afcon after he makes a return come latest February/March next year. Rohr rates that kid so highly and his quality is well above the likes of Shehu, Aina and Idowu on the right. 3. The midfield will have Five names most likely and not six unless.... 4. In attack, Ighalo is sure. Musa is sure. Samuel Kalu is sure. That is three. Now the remain four spots will likely be Samuel Chukwueze, Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Osimhen and Henry Onyekuru. Isaac Success is the one in danger as Osimhen offers more than just physical presence. He offers genuine Aerial threat that even Ighalo doesn't offer. Isaac Success may be considered similar in style to Ighalo now and that may count against him. Osimhen and Nacho both offer something different. But again, all this na just early forecast.... As always and always, Time will tell it all. ![]() EEGA: 2 Likes |
