czaratwork: Very untrue, please let your friend know that the only genuine path for skilled workers from Nigeria is Express Entry and/or Provincial Nomination. You can direct him/her to IRCC website to see for himself that somebody is about to run a scam on him/her. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada.html Canada is not opening any such doors 'regardless of qualification', not with the recent body language of the government here to tighten entry requirements especially for asylum seekers and refugees, requiring higher burden of proof for successful processing of claims. So much so, some immigration consultants here recently protested a recent court ruling that will make it more challenging for certain asylum seeking Nigerians to scale through now. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKCN1L621Q https://www.google.ca/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/23/canada-rejecting-more-refugee-claims-amid-border-crossing-influx-under-trump Please send your friend to the Nairaland Express Entry thread rather than allow some dubious persons to make him or her a case study. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Trizadove: If it’s your first time - 2 years. Subsequent renewal would be dependent on your frequent travels to the United States. As a student, there are likelihood you may be denied if no strong ties can be established. Notwithstanding, studying in a University indicate strong ties that the student would return to continue his/her education, but you would not enjoy the concessions/waivers PR gets because the visa approval would be dependent on the Visa Officer |

US and Canadian dollars are scarce here at Ikeja. Just few notes available with bad rates while Pounds sterling is in excess. In fact, Sular BDC is not buying GBP at all. I have GBP, what can I do and am flying this weekend and if I buy the CAD like that, it will drop below POF. |

Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Boss13: 2:04pm On Nov 22, 2018 |
czaratwork: Canada did not only open its doors, it also opened its windows to immigrants. However, this is dependent on the route/program you choose. If you choose the Economic skill program and you are qualified, there is a huge guarantee. If you choose the refugee program, there is a huge probability of returning back to Muritala Mohammed Airport. There are immigration lawyers and agents. Their job is to make money from you and not to assure you of approval. 10 Likes |

Jesuba: Yes, you can choose a different school from your designated school. I did that and all it took was to fill a form for boundary exemption but note that you will be responsible for getting your child to and from school as he/she won't be eligible for busing, except in cases where the boundary exemption is program related - e.g. you want an International Baccalaureate program for your child and the school offering it is out of your boundary. 2 Likes |

Trizadove: Any successful visa application will get 10 years. Note the successful though as I know of students who have been refused. I renewed my U.S. visa in Toronto in April and I saw a Nigerian student refused as well as another lady who was told to come back after she has established a 'better work history' (I don't know her nationality but I believe she schooled here and she is currently on a work permit). |

Merovingian: As far as it's for Permanent Residence,TRV or Work Permit you can access PTA on a one way ticket. Take off point to destination country must be from Nigeria and the flight has to be for more than 5hrs Another option would be to do Moneygram/Western Union and receive upon arrival 10 Likes 2 Shares |

cutezain: Yeah you can as long as the date of first issue is 2015, you are good to go. Just take the knowledge test and you will submit whatever license you bring from Nigeria to the registry and they will go confirm the authenticity of the license, usually takes between 5-8 business days after which you be invited for road test if your Nigerian license is authentic.NB. Pls make sure you bring an original licence cos if they discover its Oluwole/Aba made my dear it’s prosecution straight no stories. 3 Likes 1 Share |

COPR1511: Sorry bro, I live in Ontario. Therefore I have no idea of what the class 5F driver license is. However, in Ontario we have 3 class of License, G1, G2 and G. And to move from one class to the next one, the license holder have to wait for at least 1 year to take the exam. Now, with the FRSC Letter, the license holder can go from G1 straight to the G test without any waiting period only if your driver license was issue 3 years from the date you go to the DriveTest Center. In other words, the FRSC letter will say something like "x drivers's license was first issue on y date" So, from y date to the day you go to the DriveTest Center to get your G1 license, there haven't been a lapse of 3 years. Else, the FRSC letter becomes irrelevant. Sorry that I am not able to answer your question with respect to Manitoba ************Update: I see that you have go answers already with respect to Manitoba. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Newmum0615: I got $4000 PTA from Accessbank last year with my one way ticket. With a copy of COPR attached and visa clearly saying single entry as a permanent resident visa, they will. Except CBN has changed/stiffened the rules within this one year, you can get PTA on one way ticket from AccessBank, don’t know about others cos I didn’t try other banks. 9 Likes 3 Shares |

You can actually get PTA on a one way ticket in any bank provided the person attending to you knows what he/she is doing. what i mean is that you may get it in a branch of a particular bank and you get to another branch and it will be another story. I bought mine in Zenith bank abeokuta then and i know of other branches of teh same zenith that wouldnt sell. My advice is for you to ask at any bank you are using and you may be able to get it if the person in charge knows the right thing. Iyamefa: 2 Likes |

Note that it is not automatic that you will be given US visa as a permanent resident. You will still be subjected to the same questioning process like we used to experience back in naija. What is certain is that if your visa is approved you will be given 10 years. Boss13: 2 Likes |
