Taliban: Statistics merged with performances. Perfomance measured with delivery, completed pasess and interceptions, assists, over all influence on the game. Number of matches played, awards, etc You can't play one game and then win an award by perception, i.e. I like the way he plays. Many years ago l use to look at players from an Afrocentric view point alone. Skills, tricks, dribbles, Wow moments, shakara, rainbow flicks, etc, etc. But all these things amount to absolutely nothing without end product. For the average fan these are the things they look out for. I understand that fan is derived from fanatical and therefore rationality is not a priority. Nonetheless, it can detract from effective impact. Manchester city players are predominantly very skilful but they will NEVER slow the game down to be doing unnecessary step overs and draw backs. 2 Likes |

Iheanacho has not been developing....he is not even stagnant...he is regressing...I think his name is covering him....this regressing started at the world cup...but i can assure that Rohr has not noticed it... Iwobi is not yet mature to control a game from the midfield. 6 Likes |

gamaliel9:This is why Ogu is important to this team. His calmness, physical presence and ability to play short passes will be needed in the course of the AFCON. On Iheanacho, it's his free-kick ability that keeps him in this team. |

EEGA: No trying yo cast aspersions on your opinion but in the last 6 matches, KC hasn't scored any free-kick for us. Free-kicks aren't enough to guarantee him a spot on the team. There is too much at stake for that kind of sentiment 1 Like |

komekn: I detest club selection policy because it also can paint a false picture. If we worked with that compass, Uzoho would not have made it to the World Cup. Ahmed Musa who was washing undies in the locker room of Leicester City U23 team would never have smelt the World Cup. I think a selective look in which Rohr adopted is the most ideal. Scout and invite regularly players that show sign and huge potential to make it to the Super Eagles. If the NFF can support Rohr in inviting 5-7 fresh players during international breaks for Rohr to monitor and study them, with time, Rohr would have looked into a large pool of promising talents, both home and abroad. 1 Like 1 Share |

gamaliel9: I hope you know Nacho starts games for a team in the EPL. Hard for a coach to overlook him. It is not just name covering him. Finally, Nacho had a good game against the South Africans. Apart from the miss, he was handy and helped the team create opportunity. Doubt we can say he is regressing. I think what really needs addressing is our pattern of play. A bit more bravery will bring the best in our forwards. 1 Like |

Austrian club SC Rheindorf Altach as well as a number of clubs in Italy have joined the race to sign Super Eagles invitee Olamilekan Adeleye. “Altach as well as a number of clubs in Austria and Italy are interested in signing Adeleye after they have closely monitored him for some time now,” a top source informed SCORENigeria Adeleye was on the Super Eagles 23-man squad for the 2019 AFCON qualifier against South Africa as well as the friendly against Uganda. He made the 2017 WAFU Cup Team of the Tournament when Nigeria reached the final of the sub-regional competition. The towering central defender is a free agent following the expiration of his contract at NPFL side FC Ifeanyiubah. He is highly rated player who besides his imposing built is also very comfortable on the ball and enjoys a superb aerial presence. He is close to agreeing a personal endorsement deal with Nike. |

EEGA: Players don't get groomed for national call up. They prove thier quality by upwards progression, continous consistent top Quality performances in thier club and league . Then in comparison to other players the best is selected or a number of players selected. That's the only transparent and equitable system for player selection. There is nothing like grooming you can take a keen interest but you can not groom. On the basis of performances players are Invited to camp they train, play games and from that the best is selected, it's a then a fair and level playing field. In football the deciding component of your PROGRESSION is not necessarily ability but OPPORTUNITY. This is the most important thing that will decide your career OPPORTUNITY. So when a player is given opportunity in some regards others are denied Opportunity. That denial can be calculated in the negative as intended to deny certain unfavoured players opportunity who possibly could be better or as good as but we will never know. That's why selection must be rational transparent and based on objective measured and consistent performance over time not assumption which allows all kinds of nefarious activities to take place. We are in a country where integrity is a very scarce commodity. For goodness sake at the highest levels of the NFF Salisu was caught RED HANDED. Taking blatant bribes. What's shocking is that it's all been swept under the carpet and the carpets been thrown in the bin and burned. I will add as a thought, why do you think Rohr was chosen, a guy who has spent a decade coaching in Africa. He simply understands how things are done in the African context, our way. That's why it was easy to as he says "forgive" Salisu, the status quo remains. I watched Cameroon play Brazil it was stunning this is not the same Cameroon that we played and flogged. This is the work of Seedorf. I will add Seedorf is not hungry for $$ he is worth a lot of money. His motivation is achievement, a good name etc, he is also very Afrocentric in his views. But he will not be influenced to carry out sharp practices and will have zero tolerance for corruption. I guess that's why he is not working for us. Cameroon are reaping the benefits. They had to go low very low before climbing back up. |
