SA was a nuclear power with several nuclear bombs just before you got independence but they were destroyed.

How much wealth precisely are we talking about because SA had a lot of wealth by African standards as at '94. Am talking about wealth from manufacturing, agriculture and food processing, and minerals. Unless you prove me wrong, no country in Africa, at independence, had so much wealth to inherit and start with.
