And lastly remember it's wasn't really a surprise attack as such. If the surviving soldier's account is to be believed, they actually had some advance warning. They (soldiers) were supposed to be prepared for such attacks.

The casualty figure was over 80. BOKO swept metele waited for Army reinforcements and swept them again. The few surviving combatants had to go MIA. The attack even cost the CO a lieutenant Colonel his life.

It is not always about weapons, Intel plays a huge role too which I believe bokoharam have.

The Nigerian army I believe are not doing a good job in gathering Intel about bokoharam, all they do is wait for an attack.

Nigeria's security forces, from the military to Civil Defence, are full of people who joined just for the uniform and the right to terrorise their neighbours and innocent people.

I'm not a soldier, but every soldier in the Nigerian army is there voluntarily, nobody was forced to join the army. We do not run a conscription in the Nigerian army.
